Britney Spears called it quits with felon Paul Soliz over fears her romance with her former housekeeper and 'deadbeat' dad-of-nine could jeopardize her relationship with her own teenage sons, insiders claim.

The princess of pop, 42, shared and then deleted an Instagram post on Sunday night in which she declared herself ‘single as f**k’ just two months after she was pictured looking disheveled as she left the Chateau Marmont with Soliz.

Now, insiders claim she ended their short-lived union after healing her broken relationship with Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden, 17, who are her number one priority – and because she fears Soliz could have ‘lead her down a dark path.’

‘She chose her children and her well-being over Paul,’ a source told DailyMail.com exclusively. ‘They did not get along and, in fact, he did not treat her how she deserves to be treated.

‘He was nothing but a rebound and she recognizes this. But she has contact with her children again and this is what is most important to her.

‘This has made her feel whole again and she realized that in their absence she was seeking something or someone to fill the void but no one can.’

They finished: ‘She also saw how Paul was a deadbeat dad and this was a major turnoff for her. But, before anything, she knew that staying with him would only lead her down a dark path. His history speaks for itself.’

On Sunday night the Grammy-winning singer shared a photo from Instagram account The Random Vibez which read: ‘Her attitude is savage but her heart is gold.’

She captioned the shot: ‘Single as f**k!!! I will never be with another man as long as I live!!!’

She later deleted the statement, simply leaving a credit to The Randon Vibez.

Soliz was first linked to Spears as a cleaner and handyman on her staff, but reportedly later became her lover, in the wake of her split from ex-husband Sam Asghari, 30. The pair divorced in May.

Hours after the divorce was finalized Soliz was pictured alongside Spears when she was flanked by paramedics on leaving Chateau Marmont wearing nothing but a blanket and underwear while clutching a pillow – initially sparking fears for her mental health.

But now she appears to have dropped the handyman in favor of throwing everything into rebuilding her relationship with her sons, who she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline, 46.

Spears appeared to confirm she is single on Sunday night in a since deleted Instagram caption which read: ‘Single as f**k!!! I will never be with another man as long as I live!!!’

'Britney has been speaking to, and working on, her relationship with Sean Preston and Jayden for months now,' an insider told DailyMail.com last month.

'The boys have so much love for their mother, as she does for them. Things are fully back on track and they are looking forward to the future together.'

Spears confirmed things were back on track on Instagram when she recently shared a picture of her brother Bryan.

'Looking pretty dapper,' she wrote alongside the photo. 'I sent it to my kids and I think that they got jealous because they said "that's a filter...that's not real."'

Spears and Federline got married in October 2004 following a whirlwind romance which saw them welcome Sean Preston in September 2005 and Jayden the following September.

She filed for divorce two months after the birth of their second son, before it was finalized in July 2007.

She then embarked on a very public meltdown, dramatically shaving off her hair and being hospitalized for substance abuse.

By January 2008, Federline was awarded sole legal and physical custody of their boys, just weeks before Spears was placed under the controversial legal conservatorship.

During that time, which saw her life and finances controlled by her father, Spears had contact with her sons, who she saw regularly.

But in 2022 it was revealed their relationship was strained.

In August 2023, Federline and the two boys moved to Hawaii, along with Federline’s wife of 10 years, Victoria Prince, and their two daughters Jordan, 12, and Payton, nine.

Spears has visited her sons several times at their home in Hawaii this year, which has been one of her go-to vacation spots for several decades.

The Grammy-winner has been extremely vocal in recent years about her strained relationship with Sean Preston and Jayden, who two years ago voiced his hopes for a reconciliation with his mother.

Spears never confirmed her relationship with Soliz, who was convicted for felony firearm possession in December 2020.

An insider told DailyMail.com back in September that the pair weren't officially dating, claiming: 'They had a short fling after Sam left but that was it.

'Britney hooked up with him twice and, at the time, [she] did not know about his criminal past. She no longer has any communication with him.'

Soliz is the father of at least nine children – and back in May was being chased for child support by their mother as well as the Los Angeles Department for Child Support Services (DCSS).

Nicole Mancilla, 36, told DailyMail.com that Soliz cheated on her with Spears, has not paid bills for his five kids with her or his other children with other women, but still tries to visit her at her mother's home in Sylmar, California.

Court records obtained by DailyMail.com showed a civil case against Soliz brought by DCSS on March 22, with a demand for Soliz to pay $1,167 monthly child support plus 50 per cent of healthcare costs for Trystan Alexzander Soliz, nine, Dylan Andrew Soliz, eight, and baby Violet Pearl Soliz, 21 months.

The complaint said that the children have been receiving public benefits since January 2020.

In September 2021 an LA judge determined Soliz was the father of Trystan and Dylan, as well as Cesar Martinez-Mancilla, 17, and Nicholas Soliz, six.
