John Corbett believes he chose the 'wrong' career path.
Despite his long and successful career as an actor in Hollywood, the performer, best known for his role as Aidan Shaw on Sex and the City, candidly admitted to finding his work creatively 'unfulfilling.'
'Look, I’m in the fourth quarter of the football game now, in life and in showbiz. It’s just a fact. So I can reveal now I picked the f**king wrong thing to do with my life,' the My Big Fat Greek Wedding star, 63, said on the Fly on the Wall with Dana Carvey and David Spade podcast.
He continued: 'I’ve made a lot of money. I live in a beautiful home. People come to me at every restaurant I go in. I’m a friend of the world.'
'I didn’t write one f**king line. I didn’t write one joke to make people laugh. So it’s been unfulfilling on that level,' he explained.

Corbett proceeded to explain that he admires how Emma Stone gets involved in the creative process of the projects that she stars in.
Stone, who founded the production company Fruit Tree in 2020 with her husband Dave McCary, most recently produced Poor Things.
'I’m not collaborating with the writers,' Corbett explained. 'Have you ever sat in a waiting room of a doctor’s office for like an hour and been like, "What the fuck?" For me, that’s what making a movie is like, because I’m not part of any creative process.'
The Emmy nominee continued: 'I’m not a movie actor … I’m really a television actor and so that has to move quick and that guy’s got to make a million decisions. And we’re not shucking and jiving and going out for wine after.'
At this point in his life, he said that he mainly selects roles that seem 'really, really fun.'
Most recently, the actor reprised his role as Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker)’s on-again, off-again love interest, Aidan Shaw, in season two of And Just Like That.
In May, he was seen filming scenes with Parker, 59, for the series highly-anticipated upcoming fourth season in New York City.
Over his career, Corbett has received nominations for two Golden Globe Awards and one Emmy Award.

Corbett has been is a relationship with actress Bo Derek since 2002.
The couple, who wed in 2020 after nearly two decades together, live on a ranch in Santa Ynez, California.
In 2021, a source told People that the pair 'enjoy their quiet ranch life' and 'are both big animal lovers.'
They reportedly 'have many horses and adopted dogs' and she's 'involved in local charities.'
'They support local businesses and are great people,' the insider noted. 'As a couple, they are adorable. They always hold hands and look very happy.'

'We're pretty private people, we didn't make an announcement, all our friends and family knew but this is the first time either one of us has said anything publicly about it because really we haven't had an opportunity,' he said on The Talk in 2021. 'So, you're my buddy and now I guess I'm telling all of America, or the world.'
He added: 'After 20 years we decided to get married, we didn't want 2020 to be that thing that everybody looks back at and hated. We thought, "Well, let's get one nice thing out of it."'
Derek previously told Fox News that Corbett makes her 'laugh all the time' and that he is 'full of joy.'
