Inside the wacky world of Courtney Cox: Friends star, 60, is a world away from uptight Monica on social media - from climbing in to a freezer after workouts to fun videos to promote her cleaning brand

She's known for getting laughs out of audiences in her iconic role as Monica Geller on Friends.

But nearly 30 years after the hit sitcom ended, Courteney Cox has continued to entertain a new generation of fans with her wacky lifestyle - much of which she has been documenting on social media.

The star, 60, is known for her commitment to health and wellbeing - and even admitted to buying a workout 'suit' worth $2,499 - with her extensive wellbeing treatments and diets being documented over her time in the spotlight.

But she has also been able to poke fun at her Hollywood lifestyle, recently filming herself getting into a kitchen freezer and quipping that 'it's cryotherapy'.

The actress, who has more than 15 million followers on Instagram has been racking in thousands of likes with her funny - and at times bizarre - skits.

Over the pandemic, Courteney has come out with her own range of cleaning products called Homecourt.

To promote them online, she has had bottles of the product thrown on her, and sported a Halloween costume doused in blood while swigging a bottle of wine.

Elsewhere, one video saw her cleaning her own star on the Hollywood walk of fame.

'Someone's gotta do it,' she penned.

Other videos appear to also have been made just for fun. In 2020, Courteney paid homage to one of the most famous  Monica scenes in Friends, and stuck a raw turkey onto her head.

In the clip, which has more than 5 million views, the actress took viewers through the 'gross' journey of getting the meat onto her head, as she covered her face and hair with plastic wrap and a towel.

In another clip from later that year, Courteney gave viewers a glimpse into one of her favourite wellbeing hacks - LED therapy - while also sharing adorable footage of her dogs.

The star filmed herself trying to get into the $6,000 red light panel - as her pups tried to cuddle in as well.

'Ffs I said leave me alone... but don’t leave me!' she captioned.

Courteney's foray into wellness has also seen her admit to splashing out for a 'Katalyst' suit - which online looks to be worth a whopping $2,499.

'It's an electric stimulation suit that you put on. You have to buy a subscription to use it, so I signed in to watch some guy do squats and tell me how to do things,' she told Harper's Bazaar last year.

'I didn’t pay attention as much as I should. But it definitely had my muscles sore. It feels like you’re buzzing, like a jolt, but not uncomfortable.

'It’s just like, Oh, that’s working. Oh, that’s tightening my muscles.'

In February, she also peeled back the curtain behind one of her other favourite post-workout treatments - an ice bath.

In sports therapy, an ice bath - which is sometimes called a cold-water immersion or cold therapy - is a training regimen usually following a period of intense exercise.

In an Instagram clip, Courteney pointed to the water boots she was bearing before making the cold plunge, asking the camera: 'Is this cheating? 'Cause your feet get really f***ing cold.'

Last year, she told Glamour: 'I thought I would never do a cold plunge. I thought I would hate it, but I love it so much.

'I feel great for hours afterwards. So as much as you dread getting in, you know that you’re going to feel so good.'

Courteney is also trained in Yoshukai Karate - a martial arts form characterised by its encouragement of perseverance under strain.

And it seems the star is not only able to have fun on social media but is known for being a good time at parties.

In Spare, Prince Harry wrote that he took mushrooms while staying at Courteney's house in 2016, when he was visiting LA with a 'two good mates' - one of whom was 'dating a woman who lived' there.

After staying with his friend Thomas's girlfriend, the group 'moved for some reason' and ended up staying at the home home of Courteney, who was a friend of the girlfriend and 'had more room'.

'As a Friends fanatic, the idea of crashing at Monica’s house was highly appealing,' he wrote, adding that the actress was out of town 'on a job' so wasn't staying in the home when they first arrived.

However, he wrote that Courteney then 'turned up' out of the blue and began 'inviting people over' for a party. It was during that gathering that he spotted the 'black diamond mushroom chocolates' in the Friends star's fridge and quick 'gobbled' several of them.

I remember after a time standing up and wandering back into the house to use the loo,' he continued, adding: 'Beside the toilet was a round silver bin, the kind with a foot pedal to open the lid. I stared at the bin. It stared back. Then it became... a head.

'I stepped on the pedal and the head opened its mouth. A huge open grin. I laughed, turned away, took a p***. Now the loo became a head too.

'The bowl was its gaping maw, the hinges of the seat were its piercing silver eyes. It said, "Aaah."'

Speaking to Variety after the memoir's release, Courteney called him 'a really nice person', adding: 'He did stay here for a couple of days — probably two or three.

'I’m not saying there were mushrooms! I definitely wasn’t passing them out.'

She was also recently said to be at an all-star celebrity house party thrown by Paul McCartney, with an A-list guest of attendees that included Mick Jagger, Ringo Starr, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Aniston and Jimmy Kimmel.

Kimmel detailed the fun during a joint appearance with wife Molly McNearney, 46, on Wednesday while appearing on The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM last month.

'Taylor Swift was DJing,' the talk show host, 56, said. 'She just had her iPhone and kind of tapped into the, the house system - but it wasn't like she was hired to work there.'

Molly added of the house party: 'It was one of those parties where I didn't know how to hold my body - I didn't know where to look, I didn't know what to do - it was like one more famous person after another.'

She said she 'was in the corner with' Friends stars Jennifer Aniston and Courteney, familiar faces who she was 'so relieved to see' amid the guest list of iconic musicians.

It comes as Courteney recently celebrated her 60th birthday on June 15 - and her Friends bestie Jennifer took to Instagram to celebrate her.

The 55-year-old actress posted a carousel of throwback photos of the two along with a heartfelt message.

She described Courteney, who starred alongside her in the hit sitcom for 10 season on NBC, as a 'powerful' woman whose 'loyalty' is unmatched.

'Celebrating this powerful, magical, mystical, interesting, interested, ferociously talented girl today!!!' Jennifer began in the sweet tribute.

'My sweet CC @courteneycoxofficial… she's funny like no other, STUNNING on the inside and out.

'Independent in the most gorgeous way, cares for everyone even if she doesn't know you. Terrified of dogs even though I've never known her NOT to have at least two of them ☺️ Fiercely loyal to the end.'

Aniston went on to detail Cox's intentionality and raved over her interior design skills: 'She'll redecorate a room like nobody's business. Spot a smudge on a window from a mile (literally) away. She doesn't care what other people think!!

'I can't imagine a world without her. It's one of my great honors to call her one of my best friends for life… Happy happy birthday CC. I love you! ❤️,' she finished.

Many of the photos included silly throwback snaps and more recent candid images of the two enjoying time together.

The tribute post was a hit, racking up over 1.9million likes and 8k likes as fans rushed to the comments to pen their support for the friendship.
