For food nerds and enthusiastic home cooks, few things are more exciting than the deluge of new cookbooks released every fall. And this season, we’re starting to reap the hardbound benefits of chefs’ lockdown projects—a small silver lining to a devastating year for restaurants. In addition to chef-driven cookbooks, you’ll find plenty of easy dinner solution cookbooks too (which will be especially handy if you find yourself at home with young kids due to classroom closures this fall). It’s also a big year for new vegetarian and vegan titles—this list offers a total of 63 in all.

My advice: Check out the whole list, no matter what style of cooking you prefer or what type of cookbook you tend to buy. Because after the last 18 months, we could all stand to have some fresh recipes—and maybe even a few gimmicky quick fixes—within reach.
