    Do the ships outside too
I am not a ship or marine person. I am a history person. So I expected to just spend 2 hours here and move on. I could have spent a longer time here. Only my growling stomach got me to leave. Though if you go do the Titanic part before the cruise ship people show up or you will be blocked. The rest of the museum is very interesting.

    LOTS o see!
We got in late to Halifax and rushed over to the museum to mainly see the Titanic exhibit. We arrived 45 minutes before closing and when we walked in we realized that there is a lot to see besides the Titanic. So make sure to leave a lot of time to explore all the exhibits. It obviously is marine focused but if you like history you’ll love this place. This museum is located on a harbor boardwalk that is great for a stroll and an ice cream. Many restaurant options in this area too with great views of the water.

    Wonderful museum
We came here to see the Titanic exhibit. However, I really enjoyed learning all about the Halifax explosion of 1917. I didn’t know about it and found the museum did a great job. The museum had other exhibits on sailboats, famous shipwrecks, and the steamship period. It’s a great way to spend a couple of hours and absorb the area’s rich maritime history.

    Titanic, Explosion, and more
The museum had excellent exhibits on the Titanic, the Halifax Explosion, and other maritime topics. I really appreciated the talk about the Explosion by the staff member, it helped me to understand more about that tragedy. Well worth a visit, we spent at least a couple hours there. Parking was a bit of a challenge for us as there were events happening that day at the waterfront just outside.

    Great museum on the waterfront
Great experience. Very informative exhibits and models. We spent a couple hours and could have stayed longer. I appreciate that they are also trying to diversify their exhibits and include history from perspectives of more historically marginalized groups - I learned a lot from the few small new exhibits they recently put in place.

    Don't miss this
Even if you are neither a history nor a maritime buff, you should find something here that interests you. The Titanic sank not too far from Newfoundland, and many of the bodies that were recovered were brought here to Halifax. The museum's exhibit about the Titanic is quite good. However, what I enjoyed even more was the exhibit about the 1917 harbor explosion. It was the largest man-made explosion before Hiroshima. The city was devastated. There are other exhibits as well about the Cunard Line, sailing ships, the Canadian Navy, and steam-powered craft. Give it a shot; you'll be glad you did.

A museum worth yor time and money
Good museum with a lot of exhibits and models made in house. The information at each exhibit was clear, not too long to read. Many of the smaller boats were displayed in a manner that allowed the untrained observer to see how each operated. My time was limited, but did not feel that I missed any important information. The building was crowded with several cruise excursions.

The Exhibit on the Halifax Explosion is Most Interesting
This is the museum first time visitors to Halifax go to with good reason. It features the famous Titanic exhibit. Check out the museum's website as it provides plenty of information to prepare you for your visit. There are many other exhibits so take the time to check them out. I found the exhibit on the Halifax explosion, particularly interesting. The only thing I found somewhat annoying was the gathering of visitors around docent led tours of a particular exhibit. While you may learn more, it does make for a noisy, crowded environment. The museum is located right off the Halifax boardwalk. There is paid parking nearby, and a drop off area as well. It is completely accessible. It is open daily during summer months and just slightly less off season. Admission prices are almost half from November through April. I would suggest allowing 3 1/2 hours to see everything. You will need to read quite a bit. There is an observation area from the second floor, which makes for some wonderful photo opportunities. The CSS Acadia is available to tour certain weekdays.

Excellent museum covering an array of pertinent topics to the province
This was an outstanding museum, covering a wide array of maritime topics, both related to local history (Halifax and Nova Scotia) and maritime industry writ large, as well as a section dedicated to the loss of the RMS Titanic. The return on your investment of both time and money is well worth the expense. I’d say this is a not to miss attraction in Halifax. Allow 3 to four hours to thoroughly explore.

Excellent museum for the Titanic and the Halifax Explosion
Excellent museum, - we were particularly interested in the Titanic disaster and the Halifax Explosion. The Museum had good exhibitions of both of these, and offered knowledgeable interesting talks by the museum guides. Higly recommended to spend at least 1-2 hours there.
