When I called to find out about cottages I didn't get greats service, he was less than friendly. When we booked in we were not greeted with a smile. I understand it's winter but we would not go back again! When we were leaving there was no one at the front office so we left the key in the chalet. On the way out we seen the manager told him where we left the key, he basically scolded my husband. We spend over $500 for two nights, you would think he would have at least thanked us for our business. We won't be going back! I defiantly had buyers remorse..

Very comfortable cottage duplex with good views all around. Somewhat dated throughout. If you travel with your VHS collection this is your place. Other comments from reviewers about the management style of the place are worth attending to. The 'rule book' in each the rooms was clearly not designed by someone with a background in marketing. It has a scolding tone throughout and has some outright bizarre statements. For example, I have never seen a maritime cottage try to ban cooking lobster in the cottages. That is like banning pineapple consumption in Hawaii. Or how about telling parents that other guest did not come their to look after their children. Who thinks writing to guest like this is a good idea? More suited for seniors and families than couples travel. If you have a pet you are entirely unwelcome.

Party of 4 stayed in one of the units for 3 nights. Unit was fully furnished but not luxurious. More designed for a week long stay with things like a dishwasher but no tablets. There is a heated outdoor pool and a hot tub, didn't use pool but hot tub was nice. Great views around the whole unit, BBQ and fire pit are provided for each unit. Make sure you read the rules!

Owner is a d$ck and not very nice. sleep on the floor it's more comfortable than the beds. Not worth the price plus location isn't great. Smells like sh$t at times from the richibucto creek. I wouldn't recommend it at all. I'd rather sleep in a tent to be honest. Stay in Quebec guys it's not worth your money

My girlfriend and I visited Les Chalets du Havre during the week. We were initially going to stay two nights, but the rude management and heat from the non air-conditioned, muggy rooms completely turned us off. We are two young girls in our twenties, and I think we were treated as delinquents because of this. We immediately went to sit and relax by the pool after our late arrival. After about an hour of relaxing, minding our own business, an angry man approached us. I thought he was another guest so I smiled and said hello, but I did not get either of those in return. Instead, he proceeded to ask whos glass was beside our chair. I said it was mine. I had not read the pool rules he told me, which was true and fair, and had not seen the rule of no glass near the pool. I apologized and said I'd take it back. That wasn't good enough for him. He asked what was in it, to which I replied water. He then proceeded to SMELL the glass to verify this wasn't a lie. I felt like I was back in school getting in trouble with the principle. He dumped the contents and kept lecturing us, asking what chalet we were in, where we were from, our names. Over a glass of water? We started to leave the pool area, still apologizing. At this point he was yelling, I couldn't help but cry, and it didn't stop him. As we were trying to leave as quickly as possible from this angry man yelling at us for having a glass at our chairs, in the heat of the moment we left the glass with him. He again yelled after us that we needed to bring it back to the cottage that if we didn't we would be charged. It was so unnecessary and plain old mean. Simply telling us/explaining to us would have been enough. We went back to our chalet and packed everything up and headed to the reception desk to leave, where we asked if there was a manager we could speak to. OF COURSE, this man lives in/runs this establishment. He was not happy to talk to us telling us it was too bad and we could leave if we wanted but we wouldn't get our money back and it was our own fault. It was just so uncomfortable and a horrible night thanks to the owner. WILL never return. An angry man who judged us, when all we wanted was like everyone else to relax on our vacation. About the actual chalets: Very cute and on the beach (not swimmable but still pretty view.) (Which made it our experience with the manager even more disappointing, we really wanted to love it.) Could highly benefit from air conditioners

Be careful with booking with this company they bill prior to arrival and modify their cancellation policies to bill extra nights! They will bilyl the nights additional to the pre-payed deposit. Don't risk this crooked company with your credit card information. They stop answering the phone when you try to dispute the phone charges.

Our family stayed there 3 nights in July. I would not recommend this place. It's way too pricey for what you get in return. The beach is not clean, the river is dirty. The boat ride, canoe, the bicycle is nice but when the temperature is almost 100 degrees and there is no air conditioning in the cabin and a half working fan, it makes it a very unpleasant stay. There is also no shaded area outside on the desk so you can't sit there either. It's like camping with the price tag of a 4 star hotel.

THE HOTEL: The hotel consists of the cottages located on the cape, so all of them are surrounded by water, which add beauty and at the same time privacy to the place. The hotel's picture from birds eye view can be seen on its website, search for Les Chalets du Havre Vacation Resort.
LE CHALET: Each cottage is a fully equipped house (a.k.a. chalet) with its own front and backyard. The price of the cottage is about 1/2 of a standard room hotel price in the city. To me that is very good deal ;) The cottages are supplied with: - Comfortable beds; - Individual heating control in each room (we have been there in May, so that thing was noticed ;) - Dishwasher, microwave, fridge, cooking stove and top; - All windows and sliding door are protected with the screens; - Hot water; - TV with Rogers cable connected; - Humidity control; - Fireplace.
Every cottage is provided with a gas barbeque and half of steel drum for the bonfire. Other hotel's facilities include: private peer for canoes and paddle boats and kid's fan zone. During low season the dogs are allowed, so we've been there with our German Shepherd, and she got a lot of fun running along the shore and playing with the water… The birds are singing around … What do you need more to get relax? ;))
Cottages' cleaning is on every Friday, the cleaning ladies are nice and kind, cleaning is OK, all linens are brightly white and fresh.
NEARBY: In nearby Richibucto we had very good experience with - quick and kind service, wide choices of pizzas. We had oven-fresh pizza; with a glass of red wine it was just perfect.
To get French cuisine taste, we have visited nearest Shediac city (about 50 kms). Recommended us Le Petit Paris was closed at that day, so we have visited Gabrielle hotel-restaurant instead. Seafood chowder was amazing, reminds me famous mussels in Chez Leon in Brussels.
DISSAPOINTING THINGS: As for the things which upset us, those were following: - Very unstable internet Wi-Fi connection, the signal was interrupted very often making working or streaming using almost impossible. - Very noisy fridge. The fridge is cooling OK, but because of its age it was so noise that almost kills the the nature enjoyment.
Otherwise that is very good place for the any kind of family/friends holiday or a party. I will certainly recommend this hotel to my friends.

We stayed for a couple weekends before booking a full week's vacation here. It was fantastic. super quiet, right along the riverside, and just a couple minutes down the street for local restaurants and attractions. Tons to do right on site for the kids, the pool was in great shape, playgrounds as well. We'll be going back soon!
