The bed and pillows were excellent, particularly the bed. The front desk staff, first Christine and then Jithin were cheerful and very helpful. The breakfast was great.
Our granddaughters in another room enjoyed the fitness area, hot tub and sauna.

Returning from abroad, my husband and I needed a place for our 14-days self-isolation. We wanted something affordable that comes with a kitchen. Cambridge Suites had spacious kitchen suites with a great extended stay rate. They also had a flexible cancellation/ change policy which was important especially in times of COVID-19. The staff replied promptly to all my emails so the whole booking process was pleasant and efficient. Breakfast was delivered to our door every morning. Housekeeping staff brought us the vacuum cleaner and extra supplies whenever needed. Since the location is very centralized, we had many options when it came to purchasing groceries or food from restaurants online. The furnishing of the room is not the newest nor the most modern but with the price and space we got, we definitely recommend it for both short and long term stays.

"Overall, everything was excellent. We went to Halifax for a family trip and stayed in a suite with a kitchen which I found was very convenient. I was able to make myself a hot drink before bed right in my room and have a light snack. Before choosing the hotel, I have heard many good feedbacks about the staff and when I arrived, I found they were incredibly friendly and helpful. We had to wait for around 10 minutes for the room to be ready but that didn’t bother me at all since the staffs were very nice and the lobby is beautiful. Halifax is a beautiful city with many attractions, but it is quite challenging to park. So, we just left our car at the hotel and visit around the city. We used the wake-up service and got a nice buffet breakfast to start our day. As a foreigner, I was not used to talking to strangers, but the staff walked pass us and greet us, asking about our experience which put a smile on my face. Thank you for your kindness! Not to miss, I found the hotel offers many other facilities like the gym and the hot tub. We went to the hot tub and had a very good time together with some nice memories captured. Thank you for the great experience! I definitely recommend this hotel if anyone going to Halifax and looking for a place to stay at a reasonable price and easily walk downtown."

I cannot write this review without mentioning the staff first. From the time we checked in, stayed 5 nights, to our check out, the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were always greeted in the halls with a cheery hello or good day. We stayed during the COVID-19 restrictions and we could always see staff cleaning the public spaces. Breakfast was included in our room rate but unfortunately, we were limited to continental breakfast due to the COVID-19 restrictions, but do not worry, you will not go hungry as the young ladies were more than happy to fill your tray with what every you wanted.
You cannot beat the location as it is a short walk to many of the local historical sites, markets, water front broad walk and food choices to suit anyones dietary needs. The only problem is, there maybe too many good choices to choose from, so do a little research to narrow down what you want to eat before heading out for a meal.
The rooms are spacious, updated, modern and very well kept. There is a microwave and fridge in the room as well as a dining table. The bedding and beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is super clean and modern. Now you will find that the toilet is very low to the floor and the shower nozzle is not that high as well ( I am 5'11" and the water hits me in the chest) but it is something everyone can adjust to I am sure. Never had an issue with the quickness that hot water arrived at the shower head nor did I ever run out of hot water while taking a shower.
The common areas are lovely and looked after as well. Be sure to check out the roof top patio to enjoy a drink or just take in the views of Halifax Harbour.
Unless there is a great difference in price, Cambridge Suites Halifax will now be my go to hotel when visiting this fantastic Maritime city.

We have stayed frequently at the Cambridge Suites over many years of travel to Halifax.The location just below Citadel Hill just above the downtown area is fantastic. The front desk, housekeeping staff and hotel manager are very personable, friendly and they always make you feel welcome and will promptly do whatever they can to ensure your stay is an enjoyable one. The rooms are always clean and fresh. The outdoor rooftop patio with a barbecue is amazing with a super view of the downtown and harbour. The gym on the top floor with massive windows, sauna and hot tub is superb. Room prices are quite reasonable, you get great value here. The breakfasts that are included are very good. We always know that when we visit Halifax or close by areas of Nova Scotia that our visit to the Cambridge will be wonderful and there will be no need to research or shop around for a place to stay!

Stayed here 3 nights in July. Our room was on the 4th floor with a view of Citadel Hill, which was wonderful. The room was very clean and spacious with a kitchenette including a microwave, Keurig-type machine, sink and bar fridge. The sofa and queen size bed were very comfortable and the bathroom was large enough for us to spread out our toiletries. We had no trouble finding a parking spot in the underground parking garage, but note that the charge for this is $24/day. We enjoyed a couple of relaxing hours on the hotel’s rooftop deck which provides views of the Halifax skyline and harbour.
COVID-19 restrictions were posted and most individuals appeared to be complying. The hotel offers a free continental breakfast which is served to you by staff. We ate our breakfasts in our room each morning but many patrons ate in the restaurant. The hotel also provides bagged breakfasts if you prefer.
The Cambridge’s location is perfect for sightseeing around Downtown Halifax and the service we received was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the Hotel on New Years Eve. My fiancé has CF1 status and this was one of the only hotels who didn't have New Years blacked out.
We had quite a big harbour view room, and with the discount it was an incredible price. The room/hotel was very clean.
When we checked in the front desk staff told us that it might be a little louder tonight then other nights because it was New years (which is to be expected) we didn't mind, as we were going out, but when we got back after midnight you couldn't hear a sound from the other rooms/guests so we had a nice peaceful sleep.
They do charge for parking, but it's downtown Halifax, if you think you are getting free parking anywhere you are out of your mind. So we were expecting the parking fee and were actually excited to find out it was underground parking.
The hotel is in a great location and was literally walking distance form the restaurant and yuk yuks (which is how we rang in the New Year)
The staff were friendly and very helpful. We had another couple stay with us. They used the pull out couch and even though we didn't get back until late, when we called down to the front desk and asked for extra blankets and pillows they were very fast with bringing those up right away.
Loved the 1pm checkout, especially after a night out! They also have a rooftop patio which was still open even in January, so we were able to get our New Years day photo shoot in ;p
The only reason I am not giving this hotel 5 stars is because we called down to the front desk and asked what time breakfast was served until and they said they were extending the hours to 1pm. When we went down at 10:30 am the lady working told us the continental breakfast was closed. When we told her we called down she said they had extended the paid brunch menu until 1. We were kind of disappointed because that was not specified on the phone when we called down and we weren't expecting to pay for breakfast. With that being said the prices for the brunch were very reasonable so we ate there anyway. The food was good and the mimosa was wonderful.
All in all I was very impressed with this hotel

We stayed at this hotel, 16 – 21 Aug 2021. After doing online research and checking out trip advisor, we chose this establishment mostly due to its location and of course price (at the time of the booking). It was easy to find the hotel as it is at the base of Citadel Hill. Upon entering we were greeted by the friendly front desk and we were checked-in within minutes. We made our way to our 2nd floor room via the elevators (3 of them and one goes all the way down to the parking garage, the other 2 are only for access to the guest rooms). Our 1st impression upon entering our room was “WOW” very nice. We had a front facing room on the 2nd floor so we had a great view of Citadel Hill. It was spacious and had a good layout. The Queen size bed was sufficient. We brought our own pillows as previous experiences have proven that a lot of Hotels have lousy pillows. The one thing that stood out to us in our room was that the shower needed to be gutted and redone, the rest of the bathroom was fine. There is underground parking (2 levels) but it is not sufficient when the hotel is at capacity. You end up hunting for a parking spot on the street, which is not fun. The continental breakfast was very minimal due to COVID-19, which we feel could have been greatly improved. It consisted of overnight oats and yogurt, with muffins and Danish pastries, yet the coffee was very good. We did use housekeeping during out stay, we felt there was no need. We did a lot of exploring of downtown Halifax. But be aware that the downtown area is A LOT of uphill/downhill walking, you will get a workout.

We booked a King Suite with a Kitchen & Harbour View here for my girlfriends birthday weekend and it was an absolute nightmare. Worst experience I’ve ever had in a hospitality setting. I travel a lot for business so I stay in hotels very often, and I was appalled at how rude & inconsiderate the staff at this hotel are.
We were thrown out of the hotel in the middle of the night due to a single minor noise complaint (low music on a laptop, no speakers, at about 75% volume, and this was at 10:00pm on a Saturday night) and in the process the staff was incredibly rude. They left us with no place to stay, and did not even give us a 2nd or 3rd warning for the very minor noise violation. No offer to move us to a different room, or find an alternate solution, they just threw us out on the streets and told us to find another hotel to stay at. The majority of the occupants in the room were visible minorities, and in their opinion they felt that was a contributing factor in why we were asked to leave the hotel so suddenly with no warning. It was honestly very bizarre behaviour from the manager of the hotel, she seemed slightly unstable.
Blair Leber was the manager on duty and her customer service was astonishingly poor.
I will never stay here again and would advise anyone reading this review to look for other locations in the city. Four Points Sheraton, Prince George and the Westin are all great options to consider before giving this establishment your business.
Even before this incident occurred, the experience was poor. The rooms were not clean, they advertise “free breakfast” but it’s actually an orange and a stale muffin in a brown paper bag, and they also charge $22/night for parking.
Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for accommodations in the Halifax area before booking a room at the Cambridge Suites so you can avoid having a similar nightmare experience.

I would have enjoyed my stay more if the front desk staff who booked us was more attentive. I clearly struggle to walk and told her so too. She placed us in a room at the farthest end of a very long hallway. This was very painful for me. And limited the amount of time I could go to and from the room. The 1pm checkout is a real bonus. Location is great. Rooms and bathroom are average. We understood because of Covid we could not use the hot tub and would receive a complimentary bagged snack breakfast. The cost at booking was higher than other higher end hotels, so I think I expected more. However, overall the hotel is a average/good one.

The Cambridge has a small parking lot out front and two levels of heated underground parking. You access the underground parking via Market street behind the hotel.
The laundry room is on the parking floor. There is two washers and two dryers. Cost I think was $2.00 in quarters. Every time we stayed there we had no problem getting a machine
