Hotel and room clean and well appointed. Parking lot entry is a tiny bit awkward at first (exit bridge in right lane) and there are a lot of sketchy people wandering through parking but not a serious problem. Some siren noise on the side facing the bridge but not overly disturbing. Pool nice, didn't try resto but it looked nice. Overall a positive experience.

The location of the hotel is very good! Right next to the bridge that goes to Halifax. We were at Covid's time and a lot was different! The Starbuks (inside hotel) were closed, to use the pool you had to make an appointment. for cleaning the room you also need to ask the day before, otherwise, the person will not come to clean your room. The hotel is beautiful. the room is nice, the television is big, the bathroom is with a great finish, glass shower and comfortable bed.

As soon as I got there the front desk staff was awesome Stephen check me in he was so pleasant and helpful. as soon as I got on the floor of my room it smelled so clean. Got in the room and I searched for dirt but nothing to be seen witch made it so relaxing lots of towels and soap and lots of pillows on the beds. As soon as I woke up I went down stairs for coffee and all I could smell was lysol witch means to me they are cleaning and keeping me safe. will definitely be back love it I give it a 5 star great job double tree.

So this was not what I expected at all of a Hilton hotel…. We were a bit surprised to see the homeless wandering in the area, in front of the hotel and then when we went in, it became obvious that this was not just a one off occurrence, this was normal. The room we were given was on the first floor and the whole floor reeked of cannabis. The fridge was dirty and the inner trays were broken. I spoke to the maintenance person and asked why I was seeing so many homeless in the area and undesirables even within the hotel. I was advised that 3 floors have been filled with Dept. of Family and Social Services clients until they can be placed. I was advised that there is security on each floor and that they are not allowed to eat in the restaurant. However we didn’t see any of those. We were so uncomfortable, we got moved to another floor. We thought we’d walk the nearby Harbour like we had in Halifax and were accosted by an inebriated and unstable individual. Even on the boardwalk there were homeless with open liquor so we returned to the hotel and thought we’d eat in the restaurant. Only one other couple was in the restaurant and there were reservation signs on most tables. When I asked if they were expecting a large group she advised that they had staffing issues and this was how they were managing the restaurant. It was cold in the restaurant so we just returned to our room without eating and checked out at 7 the next morning. Couldn’t get out of that place fast enough. Can’t believe we had to pay for parking as well.

Anyone can understand that vulnerable people need a place to go. But to not let clients know this is what your hotel has chosen to do is unacceptable for the price and value of this property. This is wrong. 2 young business professionals coming in to stay and work at this location and to be left so uncomfortable and feel unsafe in what we choose as our home for several days is not right. We could not use any of the facilities at the hotel, people coming and going through a back entrance at our room entrance and the list goes on. Shameful to say the least. I understand that there needs to be options for the vulnerable people in society but no notification and to be submersed into this without any knowledge is not what the expectation is about.

Enjoy the feel of a bus shelter at 3am on a Friday every day of the week. Bring extra smokes for the lobby crowd. Usually a go to hotel but they’ve gone after the government money for urban homeless programs which is fine, commendable even but they should let people know that it is no longer just a hotel it’s a metal health and addictions ward renting rooms at $125 a night.

The clients that are staying at our hotel are on a strict contract with ourselves and the city. We do not condone any lewd behavior and try our best with the help of our security teams to make sure our other guests are comfortable and safe. I understand Covid was hard on the hotel industry and Hotels had to resort to other source of income, this hotel is used as a family community service, i applaud the hotel to having taken that initiative, However it could do a better job of controlling those staying their, there were people smoking drug and cigarette under the carport, and some altercations out in that area between those people, there was also a smell of drugs and cigarette in the elevators and our room. otherwise the hotel was great. they should have a dedicated spot for customers to smoke that is away from the entrance and enforce the no smoking policy in the rooms.

My wife and I stay here quite a bit. I always go on line to Hilton Honours to book and select our room since we like staying in a certain section of the hotel for the view. Without fail, when we arrive we are assigned another room after being to.d that the room we booked isn’t ready. I am always made to feel like I’m being difficult when I say that we want a room in the section that we reserved. I don’t see the point of being able to select your room if it means nothing to staff. Other than that, we do enjoy the hotel, and will be staying next week again...hopefully I won’t have the same hassle when checking in.

Booked online at 200 plus CAD for this room. I wish it was disclosed that it is a homeless shelter prior to booking as I would have booked elsewhere.
First off they would not honor the 76000 points I had as they 'expired' due to Hilton policy. You know who doesn't operate this way? IHG Rewards. As such I was not able to book my stay with the 50000 points required and it cost over 200 for the night.
The staff are fine, and the location would be convenient if not for the homeless people. I understand everyone has the right to stay there, but I also feel it should be disclosed prior to booking so people make informed decisions with their money. If it were just me and I was on business it would not bother me personally. But with my wife and two small children it was a bit much. The elevator was never empty and always smelled of cannabis and cigarettes. The hallways too. Upon waking up everyone in my family was congested and stuffed up. The beds are way too soft and lumpy and sleep was not great either.
I was unaware there is a difference between a Hampton and a Doubletree and as such was surprised there was no included breakfast. It is on me for assuming a 250 a night room would include breakfast, but needless to say was still disappointed.
I have had back to back bad experiences with Hilton now and I will be changing my loyalty to IHG.

Stayed here for 189CDN per night before taxes Hotel itself was fine, staff were friendly for the most part Did not eat at hotel restaurant Hotel pool and gym are there, open but a little small Room was clean and acceptable We had free parking at outdoor lot in front of hotel This hotel is in Dartmouth (not Halifax) but is located next to bridge to cross river into Halifax ($1.25 toll to cross bridge each way) Across the street it conveniently located strip mall with no frills grocery store, macdonalds...
Two negatives i found about this hotel -staff dont always answer phone in a timely manner if you try phoning from room to front desk -there were what appeared to be homeless people sitting outside the entrance to this hotel pretty much 24 hours a day. My family and I were also confronted in the parking lot by someone who was "selling a shaver" for $20 to buy food to eat as well. Although our safety or wellbeing were not directly threatened, seeing these things definitely gave us an uneasy feeling.

There is a Nova Scotia Liquor Board NSLB about a half mile. Go to the left out of hotel (Wyse Road), the NSLB store is next to Sobeys.
There is a nice bar in the Hilton.
There are more places to choose from in the Dartmouth area.
