Located in a beautiful neighborhood next to Spring Garden Street with all its restaurants and shops and only a 10-15 minute walk to the Halifax Boardwalk. The B&B appears partially purpose built with many rooms. Our room 307 was in the back and very quiet. There is a coffee pot, refrigerator and dining table in the good sized room. There is a grocery a few blocks away and a microwave in the lounge. Continental breakfast is served in the front room. The staff we met - Marie and Makeesha were outstanding. They made our stay so much more enjoyable! As stated by other reviewers, a pending charge of $50 is added to your credit card to cover any potential damages but is not charged at check out if all is well. There is also parking behind the building for an additional $13.80 charge per night. If you plan on taking your car out and about it is more economical than parking in the hospital parking lot which is located right across the street. If parking is booked behind the B&B, the hospital parking is you best alternative and as stated, just across the street.

Great location. You can easily walk to all of the downtown attractions. No frills but clean basic rooms. There is a small lounge with computers and a printer that guests may use. Cold breakfast is included. Guests may also use the laundry, after 6 pm when the staff has finished.

We had two rooms on two different floors. Both rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable but the squeaked every time you moved. The room on the second floor was fine but guests coming back to their rooms in the late evening and early morning were very loud. The doors to the hallway are not sound proof. This really disturbed our sleep. The continental breakfast was really Costco muffins, individual yogurts, and cereal. Not very interesting

The Garden South Park Inn is situated in a very handy location. We walked everywhere downtown in less than 20 minutes. It was also easy to find by car and had enough parking that we could keep the car in the back lot. The first impression was that the neighbourhood was a bit sketchy but it proved to be quiet and felt safe to walk at night.
Our room was in the basement which was alright, we were offered an upstairs room but other bookings would have had to be shuffled around and we weren't planning to be in the room much longer than to sleep, so we said not to worry about it. If you would like a view of the neighborhood then an upstairs room would be a good bet. The basement rooms are also a little awkward to access, with a few sets of up and down stairs and hallways.
The room was plain but clean, and the bed was comfortable. It was also remarkably quiet.
The shower had a rain showerhead and plenty of hot water.
The bath towels were quite small and non-absorbant, so that's a small touch that could increase comfort for guests if the inn wanted to invest in some nicer towels.
Continental breakfast included great coffee, and a selection of teas, juice, and milk. Basic breakfast cereals were available as well as bread products with a toaster, yogurt, muffins, and hardboiled eggs.
The breakfast room was available for guests to sit in during the day, but it would have been nice to have a sitting room with couches and comfy chairs since there wasn't anywhere to hang out in the room except for the bed and a couple of ordinary padded conference-room chairs.

All in all, the Garden South Park Inn is a friendly place to stay that met our needs just fine.

This charming boutique Inn is located close to Spring Garden Road and the hospitals. One of my main criteria for hotels is the cleanliness and this place meet all my expectations. The staff were very informative about the area and able to recommend several great places to eat at.
I highly recommend this place.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Halifax. The Garden South Park Inn is situated close to parks, to restaurants and bars and is only a 20 minute walk to the harbour. The harbour is a great place to explore. The Garden South Park Inn was very comfortable, but lacking in hospitality. There was a different concierge at different times of the day. That made it difficult to set up any relationships with the people at the front desk. Important when travelling solo. The breakfast was ok, but I noticed a number of guests would take their breakfasts back to their room. As a tea drinker I would have appreciated a kettle in the breakfast room, or in my own room, so I could have made tea in the afternoon.

To my mind this definitely not a 4 star hotel, closer to 2 stars. The room was adequate, clean though the carpet is rather stained, in need of replacement. Bed was comfortable enough, but I don’t like blankets and bed spreads, as I am sure they are not changed between guests visits. Shower was fine in a low bath tub. Towels clean but small. Breakfast was served from 8.00 am, which for a downtown hotel can be too late for many guests! Breakfast itself was rather basic with packets of bread and muffins on a help your self basis plus cold boiled eggs. Personally I prefer crusty rolls for breakfast. No croissants either.

We came - sight unseen. It has been a fine stay. Ultra clean and Covid precautions in place. Room was more than ample - no comfortable chairs in the room, however. Too late ( historic buildings I assume) to vent the bathroom. Still, the breakfast was ample. I did have to sneak out for a Starbucks decaf.

All in all, cordial folks run the place and if we come again ,
May stay here on our way to Cape Breton and PEI.

Friendly staff, nice big room with storage. Excellent location. Great breakfast options with cereals, boiled eggs, bagels etc that you help yourself too. Paid parking was possible too which helps. A 10 minute wander to the Harbour- all good.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was quiet and clean, and we could walk to the waterfront and public garden. It is more hotel-like than the typical B&B.

The continental breakfast was just OK: cereal, muffins/bagels/toast, hard boiled eggs, sweetened yogurts.
