The Pines Motel and cottages was a lovely little spot. We enjoyed a clean room, wonderful views and exceptional hospitality. Located close to Many popular island attractions. I highly recommend this charming motel for your island vacation.

This is the best place to stay. The owners Larry and Mark go out of their way for you. If you need anything they will provide it for you. The view is amazing. The pool is heated with plenty of lounge chairs.

We stayed for 6 nights and although the location was central to the restaurants and attractions cottage #3 was in rough shape. The positives were the bathroom, laminate floor, cleanliness and a new window that lacked a screen. Towels were changed everyday.
The negatives were:
Batteries not functioning in bedroom smoke alarms - batteries changed upon telling them
Screen door would not stay closed and finally latch was changed the last day
Kitchen needs an upgrade - fridge OK
Couches and chairs need to be changed
Deck needs to be changed and lattice on outside perimeter needs fixing
Cottage 3 is attached to cottage 2 and therefore you won't get much sleep as other tenants can be very noisy
Towels are thin and like sand paper
Barbecue adequate but needs cleaning on the bottom and finally
WIFI did not work as advertised
In our opinion for the $ we paid and for what we received we were short changed. As stated on a sign on there wall "there are many other rentals in the area" of which if we would ever return we would definitely check them out.

We appreciate your feedback, and our aim is to make everyone feel comfortable and relaxed while on vacation. Our cottages are rustic, and will take much work to get them to the standards we wish to achieve. This is our third season in the tourism industry and wished to have all renovations complete but with limited resources we have to prioritize. The WIFI had been an ongoing issue with our service provider, which has since been resolved. The majority of guests are respectful and obey the rules, and we would have asked the adjoining guests to be more considerate. I apologize for the delay in repairs, replacements; we were short staffed and tried our best to complete these issues in a timely manner. We take all concerns seriously, its shows us where we require improvement, and also what guests appreciate.

We arrived after a long drive from Montreal and met with Larry, the owner. Such a pleasant greeting, always helpful and kind. The motel offered several types of rooms including a single room with 2 queen size beds to suites with kitchenettes and cabins.
The view was terrific, overlooking Hunter River on a large lawn with picnic tables and BBQs. My only complaint would be the space to store clothes. We were 2 and only had 3 drawers and a small closet. I would definitely return to this motel and if our stay would be extended, I will request a cabin or a suite. The best part is that is pet friendly!

We stayed in the motel - room 9 and our friends stayed in the end unit. Our room was clean and exactly as pictured on the website. Our friends 2 bedroom/kitchen/living room was also clean and as pictured - really a gem of a place!
Larry & Mark were great hosts! So friendly and went out of their way for us. We traveled as part of a larger group, but were all staying at different places. Larry & Mark accommodated our group (30 people) for a BBQ when our other plans fell through - awesome!
We recommend this quant place. It faces the water, which makes morning coffees so peaceful. There is a pool, fire pit, picnic benches and chairs positioned perfectly to enjoy the scenery and peacefulness. Larry & Mark have put their heart and soul into this place and it shows.
Well done!

When we first pulled up to this property, I wasn't quite sure we made the right choice. People were sitting out in front of their rooms drinking and I thought it was going to be a loud place to rest. However, it turned out to be a nice stay. The rooms are clean with brand new bedding. There is a pool on-site but unfortunately we didn't get to use it as it was raining. There is a swingset for the kids and many seating areas to just relax. Nice location right on the river. Despite the people outside drinking, it ended up being a quiet place. The only issues we had were that wifi service was poor and satellite TV wasn't working very well.

Thank you for your comment. We take guest reviews seriously and we have addressed the wifi by having Eastlink install 3 new data points in the motel to boast wifi strength. As well, we mention to guests that quiet time begins at 11 pm. The majority of guests are cooperative and obey the rules. Guests that are relaxed and happy, make us feel like we are progressing in the right direction with our tourism operation. Larry & Mark

Larry and staff strive to make sure that guests enjoy their stay. We are only 5 minutes from North Rustico and 20 minutes from Charlottetown, yet the location is peaceful and quiet. Guests that enjoy their stay, let their friends and family know. Word of mouth is very powerful, so we aim to make sure guests are comfortable. Hope to see you next year ! Larry & Mark

Read many reviews before booking and was comfortable with my choice, but it was more than expected. We were in a cottage that had not been updated yet. (Because of Panelling), but it had everything I needed, towels, amenities, linens and a new bed, as good as any hotel. Very clean, newer windows and appliances. BBQ, picnic table and Adirondacks type chairs and a nice view, so peaceful. It was perfect for me and would definitely come back. The new owners were awesome, (and I am not saying that because I feel pressured to). We arrived on a Sunday and were too late to buy beer, they gave us the 9 beer they had left in their fridge.brought us a new LCD TV and a new cable box, ...they bend over backwards to get you anything you want/need.

This is our second season in the tourism business and we strive to make guests as comfortable as possible. We have learned a lot from our first season. We have travelled ourselves and get frustrated when things don't work the way they should, so we are striving to make guests feel as welcome and relaxed while on vacation. We are glad that you are enjoying your stay and hope that you tell people about the Oines Motel !! Thanks.

We intended to spend two nights there, but then our little doggy got sick. The hosts were incredibly helpful and we could extend our stay by 2 more nights. Unfortunately, our dog wasn't getting any better and we decided to return home and cancel our final night. I have to say the hosts were super accommodating and patient with our multiple changes, and we remain grateful for their help!
Our stay was very very nice, the grounds are gorgeous and the rooms are clean and comfy. We would definitely return.

I booked Cottage 1 for myself and my 18 month old, my sister and her kids (6 and 4) and my parents. It has 3 bedrooms and was the perfect size for us and at an amazing rate. Every question I had was answered promptly by Mark via email prior to our arrival. When we arrived, we met Larry who is the on-site manager. He checked us in easily and greeted us with a smile, genuine happiness to greet us and the best personality.

We stayed 3 nights, and Mark and Larry went out of their way to help us navigate any questions and even found us a perfect extension cord last minute (we brought a bouncy house) and a fan to help my daughter sleep. I cannot say enough about the service and genuine care they provided us, and the personal interaction was unparalleled (we have all travelled a lot and have never encountered this level).

The cottage was clean and had all the necessities we needed, the only thing I would change is to have a sponge instead of a cloth for dishes but that is a personal preference. There was more than enough storage space for everyone's stuff in each room and we come with a lot of stuff. The cottage was beautifully decorated with care and had beautiful accents. The beds were comfy, the pillows much better than most hotels and the bedding was fabulous.

There is a pool, a playset and bonfire area, and each were perfect for our stay and used frequently.

The grounds were well maintained and clean at all times, and everything was in good shape. Housekeeping came daily and always asked if we wanted service or if we needed anything. I should note the towels were exceptional too!

The drive into Cavendish (boardwalk area) is about 10-12 minutes and you can go the main highway part or a bit of backroad, both easily navigable with my CRV and sisters Caravan.

We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend the location, the business and above all the people. We stayed in the oldest cabin (which has uneven floors that added a level of character to our stay) and it was phenomenal, I can only imagine what the rest of this hidden gem holds. Stay here, you won't regret a moment.

(and the kids say hi Larry!)
