For almost $60 per night for a family of four, I definitely expected a lot more. The campsite was very run down, our site was not level, and there is not any privacy for the campsites. There is also no cell phone coverage and Wifi is very spotty at best (pretty much non-functional for anything more than sending emails). We had picked this campsite specifically due to the proximity of the tunnels, however, with the tunnels closed currently due to COVID, there wasn't really anything positive about this location.

We booked in on Friday for the May long weekend. Wonderful weekend. Really peaceful and everyone was friendly. On Monday while we were packing up to go the people 3 camping spots away noticed that his sewer connection was nearly overflowing. Our connection was fine and we were able to successfully empty our holding and grey water tanks without issue. Our friends were not so lucky. when they checked their connection they found that it was almost full up totheir hose. They alerted the owner at 10, he didn't show up until 11:15. By 11:30 someone else on our line dumped their sewer and our Friends ended up with toilet paper, human waste etc moving towards their trailer. Although they tried to get everything out of the area before it got soiled, unfortunately their carpet was a poopy - toilet paper mess. The owner said that he would pressure wash it but since it was covered in other people's poop they declined. We told him it would cost over $100 to replace the carpet he replied "He's not responsible for his sewer system and that we were over exaggerating the problem". They told him to smell the carpet and walk around site 19 and see the toilet paper, the human waste and floating corn. He declined. He said "customers come and customers go". Unfortunately he has lost 4 repeat customers after this one bad incident. ALSO IF YOU DECIDE TO STAY AND ARE PLACED IN SITE 19 WEAR SHOES AND DO NOT LET YOUR CHILDREN SIT ON THE GRASS OR YOUR ANIMALS EAT OFF THE GROUND - YOU ARE TOUCHING HUMAN WASTE

Unfortunately, the Coquihalla Highway was just on the other side of the river and provided a virtually continuous traffic drone during the day. We were lucky that the campground wasn’t booked out so we had enough space around our RV. But I think if every place is rented you don’t have any privacy. They had bear-proofed trash collection bins and recycling stations. The washroom looked really old and didn’t made a clean impression to me. I found many dead insects on the lavatory. The Wi-Fi access wasn’t that good even if had been near the office. The host was friendly but on the contrary to the other Canadians a bit reserved.

The park is brilliantly located just a short way from the stunning Othello Tunnels (old railway tunnels). It can be walked (1.4kms) but a bike would be just as fun.

I would only recommend this campground to travel through.

My family brought our 30 ft rv for the weekend. A lot of the reviews led us to not expect too much but this place had a lot to offer. I have paid a lot more to stay at places with a lot less.
We stayed in site 15 which was clean, dry and, best of all, spacious and level. Our spot was right across from the clean bathrooms, free showers and laundry facilities. The owners were friendly and informative. The lady in the office told us where to find local attractions while the husband kept up with the outside work. They weren't always around, but they are elderly and have to be cautious during all of this pandemic madness.
As expected, the playground area is a bit dated but safe. True, the wifi a bit slow, but if I wanted non-stop FB and internet, I may as well have stayed home. I was there to see the tunnels, do a bit of gold panning and hiking.
Many reviews are complaining about the truck traffic but I did not find it excessive. True, I could hear the trucks as they passed but the traffic was mostly on the main highway a half kilometer away.
This place is not fancy and is a bit run down, just like thousands of small family businesses hit hard recently.
I will stay here again.

I have stayed there a few times. The place is run down. One of the washrooms is terrible. Toilet paper on the floor and bugs. No toilet paper in the holders. Dusty. They need to put calcium on the road. They don't often answer the phone or emails. Hard to make a reservation. People wait at the office to check in for extended periods of time, and no one shows up, and they end up leaving. Site 24 is a septic tank field and is overflowing...toilet paper around the edges. It needs to be emptied, but they run over it with their ATV to push it down. it stinks. there are no fish in the fish pond, and only one slide in the playground. They have a problem with ants and sand fleas. The sani dump is at the wrong angle, so you can't properly empty your black or gray water. There is no Wifi, although the advertise there is. Cell reception is spotty.

Don't stay here!!! Washrooms dirty, Showers disgusting (can you say mould??), sinks & floor never cleaned the whole time we were there. The "rainy day shelter" is only for private rentals and I wouldn't even rent it then! Front check in staff very unfriendly but oh wait, if you drive in a big $300,000 trailer suddenly they are friendly. They treat you as if tenting is an inconvienence to them. The road is directly behind you & trucks from the Nestle plant ride through the whole night. The wood they sold was wet. Nothing for kids at all. ABSOLUTE WORST CAMPING EXPERIENCE - don't waste your $$, go elsewhere!!! Never again!!! Shame on the owners!

Booked for three nights stayed only one. We had one of the larger sites for our tent (some of the others can be incredibly small) but unfortunately it was 30 feet from the road. Semi trailers use this road all night long and the noise is horrendous - it feels like the trucks are driving through your tent - virtually no sleep that night. The picnic bench provided was rotten and collapsed when my 14 year daughter sat down on it. It was also situated less than three feet from the table for the next pitch, which is hardly acceptable. Overall the camp ground is delapidated, crowded and noisy, hence we have up after one night and went home.

I have no idea what most of these reviews are talking about. The owners were amazing people, I would sit on their bench in front of their store while they would tell me about places to take my son on our road trip ( we were driving to Alaska). Paul, one of their employees assisted me when I was having trailer hitch difficulties and also road his bike through the campsite making sure that us campers had everything we needed. I found even the campers who reside on the property to be welcoming and friendly. The bathrooms were clean and did not have any foul smell. They are also free, unlike most camps who charge a fee. The walk to the tunnels are do able if it isn't hot. This was the hottest summer Hope, BC has had in awhile, but there is a swimming close by.

We booked this campground because of the proximity to the tunnels, but I would advise people interested in riding or walking the KVR Othello Tunnels to park in the parking lot and find another campground.
TThe showers and toilets smell like cat urine and the noise from the road is constant. And especially now with paving crews working all night and trucks roaring by so close you feel they will come into the camper.
It's way overpriced and abysmal, don't stay there!

We were booked into this campground from Monday to Saturday. When we showed up he said his computers were down and we had to argue with him that we had a reservation, like have a back up plan if something like this were to happen. So we finally got a spot and paid for three nights still with a reservation until Saturday. On Wednesday I went to the office to pay for Thursday and Friday night and he said that we didn't have the reservation, he had no room and on and on and on, computers still not working and he clearly didn't remember the conversation from check in. Oh and looking outside the campground is empty so where he gets this bull line from I am not sure. I will never come back and I will never ever reccomend this place to anyone. Terrible customer service and a not a well run business at all.
