Went for one night with my son and boyfriend, stayed in cottage #3 (2 bedroom: queen in one room, a single and double in the other bedroom, also had air conditioning) and it was great! It was an end unit so there wasn't anyone after us, had a great view of the water and lots of room for my son to use his little four wheeler on. The playground was just a couple steps away as was the pool. The cottage has it's own BBQ and picnic table, basic amenities are provided ie. dish soap/dish cloths &towels, all plates/cups/mugs, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, cutlery, pots and pans, spatulas and such, towels/facecloths, soap and shampoo, hair dryer (it was great not having to pack all that stuff to bring!). Unit had basic cable which was great for wind down time for my son and wifi was included. There is a main firepit everyone can use but no firepit per unit, which was fine as your children can mingle with the other ones around the fire!
A National Park Pass is provided so because check in was at 3pm, we showed up around 11am and picked up the pass and headed to the beach for the day, very convenient (only a 5 min drive away in North Rustico). Owner Larry was working when I checked in and out, and what a fantastic guy he is, don't think I've ever come across friendlier people and owners!! I highly recommend the stay here, you're so close to everything but out of the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas and it won't cost you an arm and a leg like if you were to stay right in Cavendish.

The location and view is what sold us on the property when we bought the Fall of 2014. You are close enough to beaches / National Park / Cavendish yet far enough that you are not caught up in the traffic. This is what typifies PEI for us. Small town service! Larry is awesome. He went out of his way to make our stay great. You will not be disappointed.
We stayed in the trailer out back. Initially, it wasn't an appealing idea. However, after seeing it and the privacy it provided, we will stay here again. The pool was fun, the place was clean, and again, the service was world class.

Stayed here twice. Nice motel lots of new renovations done .Motel rooms also rooms with cooking facilities. Heated swimming pool which was kept immaculate. Fire in the evening. Larry the host very obliging. Lovely view onto water in front of motel.Very easy to find coming home after dark.Great Wi Fi.

Travelling with family. We stayed one night in a cabin. Rooms are clean, comfortable and very reasonable. Larry and Mark were wonderful hosts. Chatting by the fire pit and walking us to our cabin to save us from June bugs. The "beach pass" was greatly enjoyed. The other couple travelling with us stayed for four more days. We totally enjoyed the company and the renovations that they are doing to this motel. THE front lawn is a wonderful place to watch the Osprey and drink your morning coffee.

The property and location is what initially sold us. We realized the business was in desperate need of updates, and we have been tirelessly working on bringing life back into the place. The best motel we stayed at during our 3 week trip through the Maritime provinces!! Larry & Mark were amazing hosts & their staff & friends made us feel right at home!! We cooked fresh lobster on their BBQ while our 4 year old painted pine cones on the picnic table. The fire pit by the water was awesome!! Extremely clean, modern, renovated rooms, swimming pool was a bonus. So much fun & laughter had by all....especially with the pink water balloons!!! Looking forward to a return visit next summer & extending our stay by a week :)

Laughter is the best medicine. We aim to make sure guests are relaxed during their stay. We aim to offer everything someone on vacation should require. The location is quiet and lots of room for children to play. BBQ's and picnic tables available for guests use, and the pool and fire pit allow for guests to socialize and unwind. We go every summer to Cavendish with my 2 little kids. We booked elsewhere based on past years experience. Upon arrival to that location (not Pines) we discovered that the pool was out of service. My kids were heartbroken, as this was a focal point for booking there. Frantically my sister and I simultaneously called around for new accommodations on less than 12 hour notice. That's when I found Larry and he was most helpful with saving our vacation. The price for the cottages can't be beat and the heated pool is awesome. The customer service was top notch and we will be booking here every trip from now on. Cottage we stayed in was very cozy and felt like home, had everything we needed. The view of the river was amazing. The playground and yard are a hit with the kids as was that awesome pool that is 5ft deep max. Perfect for small children. Thank you again Larry and staff for the best vacation to date and we cannot wait to be back!

We are grateful that we could save your vacation. There is plenty of space for kids to run and play. The playground may have your basic equipment but kids still enjoy it (swings, teeter-totter), as long as they are active. And the heated pool is a hit for all ages, even those young at heart. My sister and I caught sight of this cute little motel while driving by, so we quickly turned the car around and booked it for the following night. I wish we could have stayed for more than one night as we really enjoyed the room and the kitchen facilities. The room was immaculate and the setting looked over a beautiful bay. We will definitely be back again!

We returned to the Pines after staying there several years ago when we also had a wonderful experience only to find the new owner/manager Larry, was just as delightful, warm, interesting, talented & helpful as the previous owner, Lysette. The grounds & views are beautiful & our comfortable room was kept impeccably clean by RoseMary .We were amazed at the upgrades in their renovated suites & are looking forward to returning again.

We were very happy with our stay here, in the quiet and comfortable two bedroom suite that we had while travelling with our child and dog. The kitchen is super well-equipped, and the motel is only minutes away from Rustico and a tiny bit farther to Cavendish, so it is very well-placed to visit that part of the island. We were also very happy to have a dog-friendly restaurant a one-minute walk away, as well as a great recommendation from the owners to a dog-friendly beach, also very close by. Would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend to others.
