We were planning on spending 3 nights at this motel...turns out we spent 4 from August 19-22, 2018. It's a great little motel; super clean, all amenities you will need and all staff are friendly. Larry went out of his way to help us with whatever we needed. Enjoyed our little chats with Larry too but he also respected privacy...would totally recommend this place...we will return. Our 10 year old son loved it. We had our friends share two nights and we enjoyed washer toss, horseshoes, playground, heated pool and a beautiful bonfire! Lots of room to have catches too as we brought the ball gloves. You could sit on the large chairs outside your room and see the kids playing wherever there were on site....awesome! Nice to be away from the "busy" Cavendish but also only a short drive there to access fun activities. North Rustico beach is less than 5 minutes...gorgeous. They made everything easy! Thank you Larry and all staff...we'll be back! Paula & Trevor & family

When we first pulled up to this property, I wasn't quite sure we made the right choice. People were sitting out in front of their rooms drinking and I thought it was going to be a loud place to rest. However, it turned out to be a nice stay. The rooms are clean with brand new bedding. There is a pool on-site but unfortunately we didn't get to use it as it was raining. There is a swingset for the kids and many seating areas to just relax. Nice location right on the river. Despite the people outside drinking, it ended up being a quiet place. The only issues we had were that wifi service was poor and satellite TV wasn't working very well.

Thank you for your comment. We take guest reviews seriously and we have addressed the wifi by having Eastlink install 3 new data points in the motel to boast wifi strength. As well, we mention to guests that quiet time begins at 11 pm. The majority of guests are cooperative and obey the rules. Guests that are relaxed and happy, make us feel like we are progressing in the right direction with our tourism operation. Larry & Mark

Went for one night with my son and boyfriend, stayed in cottage #3 (2 bedroom: queen in one room, a single and double in the other bedroom, also had air conditioning) and it was great! It was an end unit so there wasn't anyone after us, had a great view of the water and lots of room for my son to use his little four wheeler on. The playground was just a couple steps away as was the pool. The cottage has it's own BBQ and picnic table, basic amenities are provided ie. dish soap/dish cloths &towels, all plates/cups/mugs, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, cutlery, pots and pans, spatulas and such, towels/facecloths, soap and shampoo, hair dryer (it was great not having to pack all that stuff to bring!). Unit had basic cable which was great for wind down time for my son and wifi was included. There is a main firepit everyone can use but no firepit per unit, which was fine as your children can mingle with the other ones around the fire!

A National Park Pass is provided so because check in was at 3pm, we showed up around 11am and picked up the pass and headed to the beach for the day, very convenient (only a 5 min drive away in North Rustico). Owner Larry was working when I checked in and out, and what a fantastic guy he is, don't think I've ever come across friendlier people and owners!! I highly recommend the stay here, you're so close to everything but out of the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas and it won't cost you an arm and a leg like if you were to stay right in Cavendish.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay with us. We do our best to accommodate guests requests. The location and view is what sold us on the property when we bought the Fall of 2014. You are close enough to beaches / National Park / Cavendish yet far enough that you are not caught up in the traffic. We are central for guests looking to venture to Charlottetown or Summerside, and we offer everything that you should require for your stay. We hope to see you again !! Larry & Mark

The Pines is a lovely setting for a rural hotel, well situated in PEI. Owners Larry & Mark went above & beyond to assist us with camp fires, bbqs & the pool.
Nearby fishing charters, beaches & restaurants added value without adding significant distance. Great spot & well managed.

Thank you for the wonderful comments. As we are aware (and we as well check before booking a vacation), guests check Trip Advisor before booking accommodations. It's positive comments like yours that help make our business successful, and to know that the hard work since we bought in Fall 2014 has not gone unnoticed. Please tell all your family and friends about your stay with us. Hope to see you again ! Larry & Mark

First off PEI is one of my favourite places in the world; this was my children’s first trip to PEI and it was perfect. We came to the island for a wedding with 3 children and a dog in tow. We stayed in the suite at the pines for a long weekend we won’t forget.

When we arrived we were taken back by the gorgeously decorated suite. No detail was over looked in creating this incredible space. Pure luxury is what comes to mind. A full kitchen with a dining room was perfect for not only feeding our crew but entertaining friends as well. 2 living rooms means kids can go to one area and the adults in another(talk about perfect!!) The bathroom was spacious and the Murphy bed, pull out couch and two bedrooms meant EVERYONE had a bed.....not usually an option when staying in a hotel with a large family. The private deck overlooking the property was perfect for entertaining, star gazing and BBQing even while the kids slept inside. We had not only a gorgeous space and privacy but a great view.

It’s also worth noting the heated pool(even in the cold and rain) were a crowd pleasure. And the grounds were a great way to start each day.

The owners them selves are fantastic hosts!! Kind, energetic, understanding and very accommodating. It’s clear they take pride in ownership. We had other friends staying in the motel and the other rooms are also thoughtfully decorated and set up for comfort with class. You can’t go wrong by booking a room here. They have taken this motel to a whole other level......it seems strange to even call it a motel.

Definitely our new go to spot for accommodations on the island
