In a recent interview, veteran actor Mukesh Rishi reminisced about his experience working with Salman Khan in the 1990s blockbuster comedy, Judwaa. This collaboration, directed by David Dhawan, took place as Salman was transitioning into superstardom.
Rishi sheds light on Salman's personality, describing him as having a warm and sociable nature. Mukesh fondly described Salman as a "Punjabi at heart."
Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, the actor reminisced, “It was my first film with David Dhawan.
Salman was a big star then.” He reminisced about having ample time to converse with Salman and remarked, “Salman is not the kind of guy who chills alone. If it’s a room or lobby or anywhere, he likes to chill with people. He is completely like a Punjabi in that respect. Staying together, being with friends.”
In a previous interview with Bollywood Thikana, Mukesh discussed his friendship with the Khan family. He recounted an incident where his son was dining at a restaurant, and upon learning of this, Sohail Khan (Salman's brother) graciously covered the bill.
He mentioned, “Abhi ek din mera beta ek restaurant mein gaya tha apne friends ke saath. Waha Sohail Khan bhi aaye the. Phir baato baato mein pata chal ki wo waha hai. Jaate jaate Sohail saara bill pay kar ke chale gaye. Ye sab dosti se kam thodi hai (Recently, my son was at a restaurant, and Sohail Khan was also there. Sohail found out, and quietly paid the entire bill. This is friendship).”
Mukesh Rishi gained fame for his role as Inspector Salim in the Aamir Khan-starrer Sarfarosh. During the film's recent 25th-year celebration, both
Aamir Khan and director John Matthew Matthan hinted at the possibility of a sequel, as revealed by the director to Indian Express. “Aamir is keen. I am also planning to make it, but unless you get the freedom and choice to do it and if it is not pleasurable for you then, how are others going to enjoy your film?”
