Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD is one of the biggest hits on Indian Cinema. In just 12 days, the film has gone on to earn more than Rs 500 crore. In Hindi, the film has become the biggest hit of the year and in Telugu, it has become the second biggest hit after Teja Sajja’s Hanuman. Kalki 2898 AD has also become the third highest grossing Indian film in North America by minting more than US $ 16 million, the top two spots are taken by Baahubali 2- The Conclusion and Pathaan.

Now in an exclusive interview with ETimes, director Nag Ashwin opens up about his interaction with Prabhas post the release of the film, who as per the director is one of the key reasons behind the mammoth box office success.
Nag said, "We spoke on the day of the release and he was extremely happy. He's a very, very humble and sorted person, he doesn't actually have what one calls a star ego. “
“He was just like, I'm just so lucky to have had such big films in my filmography and things like that, which made me feel awkward because he is such a big star and because of Baahubali, we are also being able to try these kinds of films so soon in our film industry. So he's extremely happy, he's glad that this did what it did, he always believed in it. So I have to give him credit for that.” he added.
Kalki features names like Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani with guest appearances by SS Rajamouli, Ram Gopal Varma, Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur.
