Devaiah also revealed that his portrayal of the police officer in Bad Cop is a "filmy, masala interpretation" of the character, acknowledging that it deviates from realistic depictions. "This world has a certain screen logic. It's not a realistic portrayal of a cop. It's a very filmy, masala interpretation of what a cop is," he said. The actor shared that he had enough time to mentally prepare for his dual roles, Karan and Arjun, and collaborate with director Aditya Datt to bring a unique interpretation to the characters. "When you have enough time to prepare, then, on the sets, I'm not confused about what I'm doing," Devaiah explained.

He praised director Aditya Datt's approach to the story and characters, stating, "There are more than one way of interpreting a certain character.
