    Our strategy

    In October 2022, LSU joined Green Impact Students' Unions. In our first year, we were awarded a 'Good Standard' — a remarkable achievement which confirms that we're heading in the right direction.

    We have set the ambitious strategic goal of reducing the LSU's operational carbon footprint by 20% and removing all unnecessary plastics — phasing out all single-use plastics by 2025. To help us prioritise our endeavours, we have commissioned an eco-audit, and we will be posting all updates to this page.

    Green Pea

    LSU Enterprise
    A student enterprise. We aim to make small steps towards educating others to be more environmentally friendly whilst shedding light on green development in the local Loughborough community. Our passion is to support those with a spark for sustainability.

    Suitably Dressed

    LSU Enterprise
    We are a student-run society committed to bringing together people who share a passion for fashion and sustainability. Sustainable fashion brands create clothes in a way that is most considerate of humanity and the environment, reducing the harmful impacts wherever possible.

    Clothing

    Throughout February, we said no to fast fashion and encouraged students to buy pre-loved clothes.

    Transport

    We have worked with National Express to encourage lift shares and reduce CO2 emissions.

    Sustainability Week

    Each year, we run a week-long campaign which teaches students how to live their day-to-day lives more sustainably.

    Give 'n' Go

    Before moving out, we encourage all students to donate or recycle their unwanted items.
