We are thrilled to announce a momentous achievement for Loughborough Students Union in our first year of application: accreditation by GISU Green Impact with a remarkable certification.

This incredible feat stands as a testament to the extraordinary efforts and unwavering dedication of our exceptional team behind the scenes. We extend our appreciation to all our staff in their support of this, however special mention rightfully goes to Rachel Curtis, Eve Campbell, and Danny Smith for their invaluable contributions to getting the Union its first ever Green Impact award!

Here at LSU, we are committed to leading the way in sustainable practices and doing our part to protect the environment.

Throughout the year, we have spearheaded a wide array of initiatives that have propelled us towards a greener future. From partnering with Too Good To Go in order to tackle food waste in our outlets, hosting the University’s first Sustainable Fashion Show, which showcased some incredible designs by our students, to promoting Fast Fashion Free February and even stocking sustainable wines in JC’s Bar... we have embraced innovative strategies to reduce our environmental impact. The recent Sustainability Day further highlighted our commitment to creating a more sustainable campus community.

The urgency to protect our planet has never been more apparent and we recognise the responsibility we have in championing sustainability and inspiring positive change.

Our accreditation from GISU Green Impact signifies a significant milestone in our journey and we aim to continue motivating and engaging others to join us in our quest for a more sustainable future. We are more determined than ever to address the pressing challenges facing our planet.

With each step we take, we contribute to a better future for all.
