We paid extra for breakfast which was fabulous, there was a wide variety of food on offer all of which was fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful and happy to help with any questions we had with regard to our stay.
The location was ideal for us, just a short walk from Las Rambla and within easy reach of the city bus tours pick up point.
I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough.
We had a family room which is basically two separate rooms and bathrooms with connected main door / hall / lots of space for 3 kids and I imagine a great option for travelling with teens …
The rooms were light and clean with comfy beds .. if I were staying longer than 2 days I’d have wanted a terrace…
The pool is small but great for a quick cool down and cold drink, If you are choosing this location I guess you want to go out a lot to eat and drink etc and there’s really lots on the doorstep.. but with three kids we could have done with more chill out / communal catered space at the hotel… but that’s just city breaks and our type of kids.. In saying that the foyer was very relaxed and comfortable whilst you made plans and looked at maps.. 2 shops on the doorstep for water, drinks snacks and taxi rank outside.. all very easy to navigate.
Check in was quick and the staff lovely and friendly. Explained the key card to us and to use it to get in the hotel and in the lifts. Made me feel safe and comfortable.
Room was roomy, bed comfortably, pillows just right and the shower was walk in with plenty of hot water. FABULOUS.
Room was done daily which was a bonus.
Walk to La Ramblas about 5-10mins.
Walk to the Harbour about 5-10 mins
Walk to the beach about 10-20 mins
The hotel is in a great location, close to everything you need and transport locations to get to everywhere else you want. Taxi pick up point straight outside the hotel. Bus 2 mins down the road. Metro the same.
Breakfast was buffet, with freshly cooked hot food, danish pastries etc for continental, Orange juice was lovely. Vending machines for tea/coffee which tasted great. Lots of selection.
The only slight downside was the hotel could use a bar, some evenings we wanted to just pop back and have a night cap at the hotel which we couldn't do. Shame as this would make the hotel just perfect. Still worth the 5 stars though for everything else. If I come back to Barcelona I will book in this hotel again.
The whole hotel us very clean and modern. Staff very friebndly. Lovely selection at breakfast.
We had a 3 bed room. The beds were comfy and the curtains blacked out all light for a good night's sleep. Our room was facing the patio area. The room was really quiet.
Bathroom was a nice size with a nice modern shower.
Our only criticism was the lockers in the luggage room (for leaving suitcases on check out day if you have a late flight) cost 2 Euros and coins were not refundable.
Would definitely return to this hotel again!!

Rooms have windows in them but ours didn’t have any views except of next door apartment buildings. Bathrooms were neat and tidy as well.
They have an AMAZING rooftop (see pictures) from where you can see the entire city. It’s just amazing. You have to pay nothing to have one of the best rooftop experiences in Barcelona. The hotel has a bar here which is open in the evenings and really nice (but very small) pool to enjoy in the summers.
Will definitely consider staying again if we visit.
The location of Andante is excellent. Just across the road from the touristy Gothic neighbourhood and a 10 minute walk from the waterfront. We felt safe walking in all directions from the hotel. Like in all big cities you should take precautions. The hotels main doors are control accessed as are the elevators and or course the rooms.
Check in was great. We arrived at 11AM to drop our bags off at the secure luggage storage room (with individual lockers) however one of our rooms was ready and we were allowed to check in to that room early. The other two rooms weren’t available until an hour after Check in time (3pm) but that wasn’t a huge concern as we were able to change and relax by the pool while we waited. We were also given complementary drink vouchers for the delay.
The rooms (we had three) were stylish, comfortable and clean. They do not have fridges though which I think was the only drawback. The A-C wasn’t working great in one of the rooms.
The rooftop pool offers a fantastic view of west/north/east Barcelona. The pool is small, approximately 8’x30’, as is the patio. If you get there too late in the afternoon you will likely not get a seat. Towels are available at the pool and there is a cocktail bar.
The breakfast buffet was good. 16 euros is about par for what you will pay at any cafe however most cafes in Barcelona don’t open until 8:30-9AM.
Overall Andante is great as a home base for a stay in Barcelona. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to start out and end a day of exploring.
If I was being pickey, the bar closes too early (not open one evening at 6) and the rooms could do with shampoo as well as soap.
Overall thoroughly recommend
