We stayed in a 1-bedroom + loft for 5 nights in March. The unit seemed to be renovated not long ago and had everything we needed. It was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had all the amenities to make simple meals for the whole family. We also liked there were two washrooms and three TVs so we don’t have to fight for the use of the bathroom or TV remote. The hand-made soap provided had a very pleasant smell. It would be good if the resort can provide a boot tray at the entrance for our wet and muddy boots in winter months. It was ~5 minutes drive to downtown Banff and parking in downtown was easy to find during the time of our visit.

We stopped as 2 adult couples in this resort for 10 nights. We stopped in a one bedroom plus king loft. The layout wasn't great as you walked straight from the outside into one of the bedrooms. If we had realised we would have booked a one bedroom plus queen or mountain cabin, as these appear to enter into the lounge. That was our mistake not the resorts, but thought it was worth mentioning in the review.
Check in was great, we were able to get into the condo a little early. The condo has all things you needed to live in it comfortably. Toiletries were provided in the bathroom. The kitchenette was great with 4 hobs, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, plenty of pans, crockery and utensils. The 1.5 bathrooms was great as it gave each of the couples a level of privacy. The room was cleaned on a daily basis. Some days were better cleaned that others, but all was sufficient. The room had a lovely log fire. Kindling and wood was free which was great as we heard other resorts charge.
There was a small pool which we enjoyed swimming in on the odd occasions. There was also a steam room and sauna, but you had to plan for these as they need switching on before use. Location wise it was great. There was a bus stop right outside which left pretty regularly to Banff downtown.
Staff were super helpful on the few occasions we needed their advice. We were able to arrange a later check out which fit better with the time of our transfer. All in all we had a lovely 10 day stay at Tunnel Mountain Resort and wouldn't hesitate to stop there again.

When a flood left us displaced from our home in the middle of January, in the middle of a pandemic we were so very lucky to have found ourselves here! Both management and the staff went above and beyond to make sure two of us and my dog were comfortable, stress free and had everything we needed. We stayed here for about two weeks, and had not one issue. The place had a bedroom and a loft, 2 bathrooms, a well stocked kitchenette with a large fridge, which was nice for this length of stay. Upon arrival there was a dog bed and bowls laid out for the dog!!! Covid protocols left us feeling super safe, it was very clean, and if you need anything you can just call front desk and somebody appears like magic literally 60 seconds later! There is also a large supply of dry firewood and even a pack of kindling supplied which made our stay even better with multiple relaxing fires! This hotel is also out of town, but within a 2 minute drive from downtown, right on the bus route, and surrounded by trails to walk the dog on. Highly recommend!

We choose Tunnel Mountain due to its clear communication of its COVID 19 policies and our experience was that this was a safe place to stay. We appreciated the option of almost contactless check in (everything was delivered to the car by a masked receptionist). The room, one of the motel rooms, was very clean. It was also roomy for two people (a bedroom, kitchenette, living room, bathroom) and had the advantage of a little porch at the back from which we could see gophers close up and mountains in the distance. The kitchenette was well stocked with everything we needed. The bed was comfortable. Banff can be quite crowded, so the location was a bonus for us as it is out of the thick of the crowds.

We stayed here during the July 2021 heat wave. It was our first time in Banff and were immediately blown away with the views from our 2 bed king loft room. Check in was a breeze and the staff on every occasion we encountered them could not do more to help us. Included with your stay are bus passes and the bus downtown stops right outside the hotel and you can catch it every 30 minutes, take the bus parking is a nightmare! The beds were super comfy and 2 balconies was unexpected. What we did not expect was no AC, using fans for airflow was not ideal. The kitchen was tiny and while it did provide the basics we found it as a family of 4 challenging to prepare and cook meals as we normally do. The supermarkets in Banff are also terrible so I’d recommend getting groceries in Canmore. There is a guest laundry room, $3 for a wash and same amount for dryer. We did not use the pool, gym or sauna but they looked ok. There is no daily housekeeping but every time I called reception for a towel refresh, garbage pick up etc they came immediately. If you are looking for an average family resort close to downtown then I would recommend Tunnel Mountain.

Overall our visit was good and we would return here. Not a great check in because the front lady spoke so fast that I only caught half of what she said. However we were in a pet friendly room and I was pleasantly surprised that there was no hint of a dog smell or dog fur etc. Everything was very clean. There was a weird smell in the bathroom but housekeeping was on top of it when I called. Beds were clean and comfortable which is the most important thing to me. One note is that the pool is so small that we didn’t bother, so if that is important to you then you might be disappointed. But we liked the space of our loft unit and the kids got to sleep upstairs which gave them their space and we had our space in the room downstairs, so the loft unit had a great lay out.

I stayed here for 18 nights and was really pleased with everything about the accommodation. The location is a 5 minute bus ride or 20 min walk into the centre of Banff. You are given a free bus pass to use on the roam bus service which takes you into the centre of Banff . I stayed in a one bedroom ground floor studio apartment . Open plan bedroom / kitchen / dining lounge area . Exceptionally clean with great little kitchen for those wanting to cook their own meals. Unusual to have a full sized fridge/ freezer and cooker oven but great when cooking for 4 . Enjoyed the real fire and free wood was a bonus . Laundry room and gym a plus . Pool looked good but didn’t use as was skiing everyday , The staff were so helpful and nothing was ever too much bother . I asked for extra hangers , baking tray , corkscrew and everything was delivered to my door within minutes . A special shout out to Harri (apologies for spelling ? ) who was on reception . Always smiling , professional and extremely helpful with everything from recommendations to making sure I had everything I needed . A real asset to the company . You could have the room made up , cleaned , fresh linen , towels whenever you requested which was great . Had an issue with noise from other rooms in the evening but this was dealt with very quickly and the issue resolved . Lovely balcony looking over the mountains and perfect spot for seeing wild deer .

It is difficult to find accommodations for our family of 7 but this suited us well. There was 1 bedroom plus a loft with 2 double beds and a hide a bed in the livingroom. The kids loved that there were 3 TV's and 2 bathrooms. We were happy to have a stove and full size fridge. The location has nice views of nature - which might be better than staying right on main street in Banff. It wasn't as quiet as we are used to though. Maybe because it was hot and we had to keep our windows open. One night there were kids skateboarding in the parking lot goofing around after midnight. I also found the lights outside the doorway kept me awake (unless I closed the bedroom door which made our room too hot). I wish we could have turned them off. But it was clean and overall quite comfortable. We were happy to not have any staff clean while we were there due to Covid-19. They were good about providing us with soap, toilet paper etc at the front desk when we ran out.

We returned last week from a 6 night stay at this hotel. We requested a large room with balcony and easy access to parking, since we are in our 80s. We also requested air conditioning, which not all of their rooms have. Kudos to Lily for helping us choose the perfect room for us. Our room was modern and spatious, with a kitchenette with microwave, stovetop, coffeemaker, and refrigerator. The large bathroom had loads of counter space and an extra large stall shower. There was a small table with two chairs for enjoying breakfasts in our room.
Location of the hotel was also ideal for us. We were surrounded by mountains and beautiful scenery - away from the noise and traffic in the heart of the city, although only a few minutes away from the fantastic restaurants in Banff.
As others have mentioned, this hotel provides bus passes for travel to the downtown area, with bus stops virtually at the hotel doorstep, which we used daily. It only took a few minutes on the bus to get into the heart of the city, which is so much easier than driving through Banff and trying to find convenient parking.
Highly recommended!!

Tunnel Mountain Resort is our favourite place to stay in Banff. It's located on Tunnel Mountain, so a short drive, bus ride or walk from downtown. It has lots of parking and a variety of room choices. We have stayed there multiple times and love the friendly staff - they're always available to answer any questions and help with anything we need. The housekeeping staff are excellent - the rooms are immaculate. We always stay in one of the suites (standard or superior) and make use of the well appointed kitchen. Although there is no oven, there is a 2-burner stovetop, fridge and microwave, with lots of room to prepare meals. These rooms are newly renovated, with a gorgeous bathroom with large glass shower, comfortable beds, and lots of light in the rooms. Overall, this is the best value in Banff for convenience and amenities. The hotel does not have a hot tub but is right across the street from the Douglas Fir, which has a waterpark with hot tubs.

They are connected in groups in buildings. We heard no noise from our neighbours on either side but the weather was too cool to use the balconies when we were there.
Hi Sandra S,
Thank you for your question. Coffee is provided in all Suites, Condos and Cabins.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to beautiful Banff.

Hello Mdecker17,
Thank you for your question. No, the Studio Condo is a studio, so it is one single space, with a separate bathroom.
If you are looking for a separate bedroom, offering a door, the One Bedroom Condo offers just that, with the same size and layout as the Studio Condo.
You can find images, videos and floorplans on our website tunnelmountain.
Alternatively, please reach out to us directly and we are happy to help you find the best suitable accommodation.
Kind Regards,
Team Tunnel Mountain Resort
The unit we stayed in was basically a duplex unit. We had a small balcony. Our view from the living room area was into the woods. Not overly scen8c but we did have a deer walk by one morning. View the mountain or view the woods, all was good.
Hi George,
Parking is complimentary for guests at Tunnel Mountain Resort. You receive a parking permit to display on your dashboard from the Front Desk upon check-in.
