Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort offers a dynamic and scenic setting revered by guests, particularly for its prime beach proximity. Opinions on cleanliness and amenities are mixed; some applaud the well-maintained pools and grounds, while others point out room conditions and service lapses. The vibrant atmosphere is a hit, though the music volume can be bothersome for some. Room comfort varies, with complaints about odors and mold contrasting with positive space remarks. High costs and inconsistent service are noted drawbacks impacting the perception of value.

We arrived on Friday March 12th 2021 not knowing if Covid shut the island down. Out of 1,500 available rooms only 50 were taken at that time. We are in a nice family suite. Greeting us was a very nice person, Alberto. He became our tour guide and accompanied us shopping so we did not end up someplace we did not belong plus he was a translator for us. The entire facility is Covid conscience, wearing masks, providing hand sanitizers and gloves for the buffet. Super Tony and Alejandro have been very helpful too. In essence the whole staff has gone out of their ways from minor issues of getting us towels to more problematic issues but the staff is Covid conscience. We booked a number of excursions to go dune buggies, monkey land to feed and interact with monkeys and lastly go zip lining. Do not buy one or no, not one souvenir from the dune buggies. They are a lot cheaper at monkey land. For example a bottle of mama Juana I bought on the buggy tour for $30.00, they wanted $60.00. I got a bigger bottle for $10.00 at monkey land. Careful walking down the beach, if you get near a beach shack, store, run away as fast as you can, otherwise you will be hounded until you can’t stand it. The buggy tour will humble you as along the route will be hundreds of children lined up awaiting a tip. It’s sad but it is what it is. Our beach bartender was Leonardo he was excellent. Our waiter for the buffet made excellent mamas for breakfast also Yeny was very good. Alejandro took care of dinner reservations for us every night. Overall the staff was a 10 plus for their service. They did everything to make our vacation magical. Thank you.

our holiday has nearly came to an end.
i have come away with my mother and father and my little sister.
we are friends of the sirenis resorts, as we have been to the other other hotel in mexico and wanted to try out the dominican.
first of all ill start with all the positives.
the hotels beach is amazing and very relaxing. the hotel its self gives a really good caribean feel, and constantly playing local music to make you feel in the holiday mood the facilities on the resort give the tourist plenty to choose from to do, and the entertainers are also always constantly putting activities on throughout the day to keep everybody of all ages occupied. the resort it self i have thoroughly enjoyed. i particularly enjoyed the plaza bar which is an entertainment venue, which has live entertainment every night and kareoke some nights.
the resort also has 9 restaurants to offer a wide choice of meals each and every night.
i wish to mention a big shout out to the assistant bar manager antonio. for sorting out our special requirmeents for my family and my personal favouroite which was a bar attendant called leidy.
yohana was also lovely after she got to know us and began to smile.
now for the negatives first of all the service from all of the staff apart from the two mentioned above was below average, from extremely unorganised servuce in all of the restaurants especially in the evening, my family would go back to their rooms and i would go to the bar, it was very evident that regardless how long you waited at the bar, that unless you was female, or had notes to tip the staff you were expected to wait be served. regularly i had waited at the bar more than 20 mins. alot of them just improvise the cocktails we are used to in the sirenis resorts. the reception staff are probabally worse, with their favorite word being come back tomorrow, it was tommorow for arranging late check out, tommorow to get our friends cards printed.
also i had several days were the rooms were not cleaned until after 5pm some days, however i do have to mention a lady that i do not know her name, however when my room.did eventually get cleaned she was a lovely lady always made my room.look nice when she did eventually get round to cleaning my room. i came to the conclusion she was the only one regularly cleaning several blocks of rooms on her own so i couldnt hold that cleaner responsible, the management should organise the staff in tg
e restaurants and housekeeping better. i feel its pointless having such a gorgoeous site if its not going to be upkept properly. as a whole i was with my family we had a lovely time and will cheris some life long memories. but feel the staff and service on this occasion let the place down. if the staff are given proper training, and organised more efficiently, with an understanding that regardless of gender, and amount of tips you give, everybody is just as important. this would be a much better resort

We travelled over the Christmas and New Year period as a group of 10, including 4 children, and stayed for 2 weeks. After reading some of the previous reviews we were hesitant at first but can honestly say our overall experience was very good.

Yes there were some minor issues if you were looking for perfection. Occasionally food would be lukewarm and not hot, but given the amount of food on offer and the enormous size of the resort I'm not sure how any resort can ensure that. The restaurants were hit and miss, Route 66 served us cold food but then some of our best meals were in Tex Mex.

The cleaning of rooms was another inconsistency, our maid was very good and we did tip regularly which we were happy to do, but heard from others of rooms not always being cleaned regularly.

Every member of staff we met was polite and always willing to talk, a lot of hard work goes into keeping the whole resort looking very good.

One of the best aspects, especially for our children, were the Animacion team and they deserve special praise, especially Spaghetti, Justin Bieber, Sugar, Banana and Black Panther. They made every effort with the children and have given them some of their best memories.

New Years Eve was a great night, an amazing atmosphere that was enjoyed by all and the best way to finish our holiday.

We went there for the Christmas period for our honeymoon. To be honest, the hotel in terms of buildings is modern but less than average to all the other departments. The food is of really low quality, we would really prefer to pay a nice dinner or lunch instead of a terrible all inclusive. The rooms are not clean as well as the main restaurants (buffet) and the beach. Apart from the fact that the staff is not sufficient and they are working for several hours, we never saw a clean towel in our room. The same in public areas, such as the beach. The sun seats were never clean and after 14:00 you could see everywhere dishes and glasses. Maybe the hotel reception should advise people who stay at the hotel not to leave their glasses and dishes and to bring them back to the restaurants. We did everyday excursions through trip advisor (amazing ones) and we didn't stay a lot in the hotel. What is more, even though they tell you that you have to book only in the Japanese and the Brazilian restaurants (we hardly found once per restaurant) you have to make reservations for the other restaurants as well, as we never found where to eat during the first night of our vacations. The hotel has the potential but they really need to improve in several fields. We went there for our honeymoon and they didn't even treat us a chocolate (renaissance hotel in santo doming did it for us with champagne and chocolates and fruits). The good thing is that we are happy people and we enjoyed the moments outside the hotel, but it could be really a nightmare if we had decided to stay there during all our vacations.
P.S. Concierge staff are really nice and helpful but you can see how tired they are too..

I planned my trip with my dad last minute, so we decided Punta Cana! I was so excited because it is very cold in NY. But, I was worried about this hotel when I read the reviews. When I got there, the room was literally clean and huge! Every day the room service would be done everyday leaving fresh flowers in the bathroom and living room
(family suite). It was a little annoying when we first got there because we had to wait for our room for about 45 minutes and all I wanted to do was lay down from the travel. But the outside is RENOVATED like it says and it’s beautiful. When checking in , an employee comes and gives Piña Coladas to drink. The bar by the lobby is gorgeous and the seating areas near. The buffets were huge & enough room for everyone to sit, the good wasn’t great but it definitely had a lot of variety. The Japenese restaurant I recommend !! The resort is big , and a beautiful walk! The pool is very nice too and the beach is amazing. The people from the bar come up to you & ask if you’d like a drink. True Paradise!! Everytime you wake up in the morning and do your activities , everyone greets you, they are so nice! Rolando is a really funny guy, I’ll miss him the most! Erick the excursion guy is nice too, so if you’re looking for snorkeling , party boat , swimming in the sea, I recommend going to him because the boat was the best time ive ever had. As for the water park ... it was big but one employee annoyed me so I left because he didn’t allow me to take a video going down the slide and he’d yell at me to lay down and not sit up but I wasn’t moving !!! Other than that, I really enjoyed this experience and I am back in the cold weather of NY :( I am definitely planning this trip again next year !!

Went with hubby and 6 and 9yo kids: we are extremely happy with our choice! We had a blast of fun, nobody wanted to come back!! Highlights: waterpark, pools. beach, buffet, ice cream shop, shows, entertainment, rooms, grounds. Yes, all.

Waterpark
Went 3 times, my 6yo couldn't get enough! Some slides were closed, but we had fun in the others; different areas for all ages, another 4ft deep pool, all in need of a little TLC, but safe and fun with a capital F.

Pools
Beautiful and large. Lots of shallow areas for kids, lots of deep areas to swim-jump-dive. Not a lot of room to chillax with a drink in a hand.

Beach
Always windy, but beautiful, lots of palm trees, happy we brought our hammocks, lots of fun playing in the waves, swimming with the few fishes, rowing in kayaks, building sandcastles... Service and animation if you want to. Can walk for very long (too long for my kiddies!), sunrises beautiful!

Buffet
Great! Changes every day: sushis, ceviches, fajitas, best tuna ever, grilled meats, paellas, fruits, breakfasts; cannot understand any bad comments about this: it was good, generous, clean, fresh and nobody got sick.

Rooms
Had a Tropical Suite, a surprisingly comfortable bedroom with a separate lounge with 2 sofas turned into 2 beds: my kids are tall for their age but fitted well on these. I don't think an adult or teen would have been comfortable, though. Bathroom a little small, but functionnal. Room cleaning correct, plenty of bottled water, more pillows on demand,.

D.G. wrote a review Jan 2020
I don't even know where to start...... When we first arrived we had great expectations as we had read great reviews and seen beautiful pictures. But it was anything but that.We traveled with our daughter and assumed that she would have a roll away cot to sleep on. Little did we know that it was the most uncomfortable pullout couch instead of a bed (they don't have cots in the hotel) and our daughter ended up sleeping in our bed because she was developing back pains. The size of the family room was very disappointing as it had looked much larger in pictures as well as the bathroom. As for the food it was fair/okay, and defenetly improved over the course of the week. Route 66 was never opened, and when it was the food was not the best. The mixed drinks throughout the hotel were TERRIBLE, as they melted within moments of getting them. The cups that they were served in were awful looking like something out of a rehab center or a school cafeteria. Very unappealing to say the least. Clearly not on the level of a supposed 4 star hotel! The biggest issue we had was the poor quality of service at the hotel for most of our stay. We had to call multiple times some days to have the room cleaned or get more towels. Also, the staff frequently did not understand our questions and they just yessed us when clearly they did not understand a word of what we were asking. It got so bad that most of the time i walked around with my google translate on so if i needed something, they would understand. The only staff member that finally was willing to assist us with our complaints was the manager Nicholas. He was very lovely and willing to try and satisfy us. Another MAJOR disappointment was the water park. This was the main attraction for us since we love water rides. 2 of the rides were either closed, shut or not working. Overall the hotel was dirty, with frequent bugs all over the place both in the rooms and hallways. The main buffet room Macao had poor air conditioning and was often smelly and you could rarely get a clean table due to the slow service. One of the biggest issues for us was that we were not allowed to leave the hotel without returning the pool towel cards. And from the beginning we had asked for an extra 1 or 2 and they had refused to give us because they said it cost them money to issue additional cards. We've never been to a hotel where towel cards were such a big issue that we'd have to pay $20 if we couldn't find one. To conclude, on a more postive note-the nightly shows were really amazing and of Las Vegas high quality. Amazing performers with great costumes. Also the ice and coffee shop was a big bonus and we looked forward to that every day because they had a variety of pastries, soft serve and regular ice creams, sorbet, and a variety of different types of coffees. To conclude, we give this hotel a 2 star rating and wouldn't rush back there.

We have just returned from The Grand Sirenis, I must admit I was a bit worried about the negative reviews I was reading online.
From our experience all I can say it was a fantastic hotel in a great location. The rooms were bright and airy and cleaned every day, the grounds were in immaculate conditions, I especially loved seeing the peacocks wandering the grounds. The hotel has its own private beach, loads of sunbeds, a beach BBQ and cocktail bar, water-sports were also available.
Activities are provided by the entertainment staff everyday, my son absolutely loved the foam party!

Food: The buffet restaurants and the al la carte offer a great choice of foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner, we only had one bad meal in the 10 days we were there which was at the Route 66 burger bar.

I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Punta Cana.

I had been quite worried due to the mixed reviews but the hotel was really good. We booked with TUI who had messed up our booking and so we had rung the hotel direct to see if they could help and they sorted everything on the phone and when we arrived it was exactly as promised. We had a junior suite it was lovely and clean, big and spacious we had 2 children and a baby, there was a travel cot with extra bedding. The room was cleaned daily and bedding changed, I would often pop back to the room to feed the baby and cool down and she would stop and talk to us and make a fuss of the kids and she left me extra bottled water so I had plenty to make up the baby's bottles - Diana she was excellent.

The pool and beach areas are great, beautiful and clean loads of sunbeds available. Pool towels always available. Lots of shade too. My only suggestion here would be to have a little splash pool area and sometimes the pool bar being in the shallower area with all the kids around adults on a drinking mission seemed a bit odd!

The entertainment team were lovely and Joker came to see us and the baby everyday to say Hi even though we didn't really join in with anything much. Super sweet.

The water park does need some TLC and the staff working there don't seem to be working to the same standard as the rest of the complex, but the children didn't notice and really had fun up there.

The food was ok, something for everyone, standard all inclusive type stuff to be honest, the staff in the main restaurant were amazing though, if you sit in the same area each day you will get to know them and ours were Ana and Juana and they were lovely, nothing was too much trouble, they were fantastic.

There's lots of comments on here about tipping so here is my opinion, if someone can afford a holiday like this and can't tip a dollar for good service to someone who a 3rd world salary then maybe you need to
think about what sort of person you are.

Overall a good holiday.

Having just arrived back from this resort for a family wedding i thought it would be a good idea to let anyone that has difficulty walking far what they are letting themselves in for! This resort is absolutely huge and does not cater for the elderly or anyone that needs to take regular breaks whilst walking. Anyone that needs mobility equipment i.e wheelchairs, walking frames or electric scooters need to know that these can be hired locally but at an extortionate rate. There are no benches or seats to take a rest whilst walking to and from your room, the pool, the beach and the restaurants.

Another difficulty are the restaurant’s on the site, whilst there are a large number of different cuisines they are extremely average. The buffet is repetitive and there is no way it could be classed as a five star resort.

The pool area and beach are extremely well equipped with numerous sunloungers and there is no need to get up at silly o clock to put your towels out unlike some resorts. (This being one of the only attractive features of the hotel). Its extremely remote and there is no leaving the complex for anything as theres nothing but wasteland outside the venue.

The trips that are available on site sold by the various touts are overpriced and anyone thinking of going on the dolphin explorer trip needs to be aware that it is a massive money making scheme with the pressure on for you to pose so as to sell you over £300 worth of photographs thus making it unenjoyable for anyone to be able to relax and pet these wonderful creatures.
Despite these issues we found the staff very friendly and helpful the three that were extremely helpful were Alberto, Jacqueline and Diana who went above and beyond the usual limits. The resort itself is very well maintained and the grounds kept lovely the rooms are spacious and cleaned daily.

But last but not least there is a time share scheme in action at the resort which caused some bad feeling as there are VIP sections for the Ultimate Leisure Club members and golf buggy’s available to take them to and from their rooms, a feature which should have been made available to all guests considering the prices charged by the hotel!
