We were at Memories Caribe Jan 22-29 2020. We paid the little bit extra for diamond club, and were very happy we did. Went with another couple and we all had a really good time, because the resort is small we met lots of other people which made it even more fun. We have been to Cuba 8 times but this was our first time to Cayo Coco and I really liked it. The bus ride to the resort was quick and we were all checked in with our luggage in our rooms in no time. The resort itself is nice, a bit older but they seem to be keeping up with the maintenance and they keep it clean everywhere. It was easy to get to anywhere as it has a good lay out and it is a bit smaller. A few things I really liked... 1. the beach is beautiful and you can walk out forever. The walk to the point is longer than it looks but really nice. 2. The Asian restaurant was our favorite it was really good. 3. The pool had great entertainment staff, it's hard to get people to do stuff but they still had enough people without being too pushy. 4. The snack bar was great, I loved that they served food all time even through other meal times. 5. Getting a lounge chair was easy, if they saw you looking for 30 seconds they were right there asking how many you needed and if you wanted sun or shade. This was for both the pool and beach, and might have been easier because of diamond club, but either way very great service. 5. The staff everywhere was great. 6. The sports bar! Every drink was amazing, the seats were comfy and it was a great atmosphere. A few reasons why we enjoyed diamond club... 1. The ala cart breakfast and lunch. We had a sit down breakfast with eggs and bacon every day except one day we went to the buffet. 2. The rooms were renovated and had a really nice view of the lake plus close to everything. 3. The top shelf drinks were better when you remembered to ask for it. The little cons... 1. The buffet, we didn't go very often so maybe there was better days but there wasn't a very good selection of food and the food wasn't warm by the time you got to the table (although we did find a microwave, which helped this). The one day we went for breakfast there wasn't really any breakfast foods. Some boiled eggs and potatoes would have been nice. 2. There was no door in our room bathroom. Lucky we did read this before we left and brought a shower curtain to use as a door. 3. The drink guy for the room seemed to always come too early, really glad we had the shower curtain for the bathroom. I would definitely return to this resort and would recommend it to anyone.

Beach was top shelf , bit of a mosquito issue though. Food was ok ,Room was good , Got a massage at the resort spa , Too much oil , ended up wiping most of it off after massage . Masseuse spent half her time adjusting the towel so not too much skin was exposed . 22 peso. Wouldnt do it again. Overall resort was a reasonable 2 week break.....

What a perfect holiday at Memories Caribe Cayo Coco! My sister and I have been to Cuba many times, and this was one of our best experiences at an adults only resort.
From the moment we arrived, we knew we made the right choice with Memories Caribe through Sunwing . Ale at the front desk couldn't have been more attentive and helpful. We booked the upgrade to one of the renovated rooms which was well worth it. We were assigned rooms in building 18 . The rooms were in great shape, and had new bathrooms, including a door for the toilet! It was very quiet, away from the pool and 24 hour snack bar noise. The cleaning staff always made sure our rooms were spotless, and left us a new bottle of water every day, along with creative towel art on our beds.
Special thanks to the buffet manager Jorge and the team which serves the outdoor seating area - Yonis, Damarys, Yonoir, and Betty who provided excellent service and always with a smile. They took such good care of us, making sure we had our morning cappuccinos and that our wine glasses were filled at lunch. What a hard working group! We never had an issue finding something delicious to eat at the buffet, and enjoyed the fresh fish and fresh chicken from the grill. I could tell that the management does take note of the comments in guests reviews, as they now have an excellent selection of fresh veggies and legumes at the salad bar.
And thanks to "Mr. Churros" for our afternoon snacks and Danarys at Beans Cafe for preparing the most delicious and beautifully decorated cappuccinos in the afternoon - she is so lovely and is a terrific barista! Of the three a la carte restaurants, the Mediterranean was by far the best.
And the beach... just stunning! But don't forget your deet bug spray for the sand flies (a very common issue these days anywhere down south).
If you remember that you are in Cuba, and that being on holiday means there is no need to rush things, you will have a terrific time!
Thanks to everyone at Memories for a great holiday...we will be back next year!

This was my first trip to Cuba first week of September, I was delighted! The resort itself was so pretty, the gardens were kept up very nicely. I am a beach lover and the beach here was the real treat! Wow, beautiful white sands, clear water which you could walk out without stepping on stones. I saw tiny fishes in the morning, star fish at sunset, crabs at night. The pools were always kept clean and had beautiful sunset views. I loved my room near the beach. Staff friendly and helpful one gardener gave me a welcome palm rose and a handyman fixed the shower problem in a sec. My cleaning lady Lisbeidy at room #1510 was very helpful and did a great job, thank you very much Lisbeidy for the bottles of water. Food was pretty good especially the buffet restaurant, night shows nice with one problem mosquitos everywhere please take your bug spray, night shows should be in closed environment if they have this type of mosquitos problem, some Cancun hotels have night shows inside the hotel in air conditioned rooms anyway I loved to sing the song Memories at the end of each show with bugs or not bugs. Went to Moron Tour and Isla Pilar I loved Isla Pilar such an amazing beach, Moron Tour was nice mostly to know the City, Museum Patria o Muerte, the Raw Sugar Milling, Tobacco Cacao and Rum local factory. At the Resort checkout time is 12:00 for most guests I requested two days before my departure a late checkout and was able to stay in the room until 3:00 pm, got a relaxing time to swim, say bye to the amazing beach, had a nice shower and pack. All together a great time would highly recommend. Thank you, Memories Caribe Cayo Coco will be back.

We are just here on Day 3 of our trip. This is our 3rd time here & Diamond club members. With all the new protocols in place, the unknown of what to expect - I can honestly say again this place has surpassed our expectations! The staff at this place is top notch and if you show respect it comes back ten fold. The differences with Covid sanitation in place from when we were here in March still make it an easy and safe place to be. The beach here is as you see in pictures for cuba the food should be bland and awful and yet everytime we have no problem here with the selection and flavors that they offer. There are renovations going at back by the beach area and have closed off the al fresco rooms which we wanted to try. Rooms are clean not without small issues faced anywhere ie tap in bathroom comes out fast but small problems. For a place with new restrictions but open and they have kept their core staff we are glad we came back here. There is an influx in other nationality here outside of canadians but as a Canadian- safe respected fun and protocols they are keeping up with ... this is great ! Friendly and helpful staff. Great Service. Resort needs to be updated which they were working on. Bring the bug spray especially in the evenings lots of bugs. Entertainment and activities were great. Cuba is known for having issues with getting food. This resort had lots of fish, pork and beef. Same choices of fruits and vegetables everyday. If you are in a room on the main floor put a towel under the door otherwise you may have a visit from a frog. The a la cartes were great the Mediterrean and the Asian.

I loved my trip to this beautiful island and to this lovely resort. We flew to Cayo Coco on Sunwing and were picked up at the airport, arranged through Sunwing prior to leaving, and after a very short ride, arrived at the hotel to be greeted with smiles. Check in doesn’t get any easier and before we knew it, we were taken to our room in building 24 which is just a stones throw from the beach. The room was lovely, with a comfortable king bed, lots of closet space and drawers. We enjoyed hot showers every morning and evening, and the resort left lots of soaps, shampoo and towels. Our housekeeper, Marianne was so sweet with smiles every time we saw her.
The beach is amazing. You took long walks in both directions, the sand is white and clean; the water is breathtaking and warm. We took advantage of the catamarans at the resort to go out for short trips; but also arranged to go out to the coral reefs several times to snorkel among hundreds of fish. We brought our own equipment but there was equipment there. We also took out the sea kayaks a few times and the staff at the boat house are knowledgeable about current conditions and will tell you when it is safe to go out.
We enjoyed the activities put on by the staff. Our favourite time was 10 am where we would make our way to our yoga practice by the pool. Our yoga instructor, Mary, was knowledgeable and was able to float between Hatha and Vinyasa practices depending on who showed up and individual needs. What a gem; she is kind and gentle but that didn’t fool us, she made us work during our practices but always left us in Savanna at the end. Beautiful playlists.
Shout out to the rest of the staff. Ely and the rest of the staff made us laugh, and kept us entertained and were always eager to help.
Food was great. The buffet had a great assortment and there was something for everyone. Loved the à la carte venues and our favorite was the Mediterranean.
I could go on forever but suffice it to say we were happy, well cared for by all staff, and we plan to go back next year for one month.

There are some great benefits to travelling here in February. Zero flies, not jam packed, and if you aren’t used to above average temperatures year round (we’re from Toronto) then the weather is absolutely perfect. Of the seven days we were here, only one was overcast & one was a bit chilly. The rest had as much sun as you can handle and only the slight respite of a breeze when it got “too hot”.
The beach is a marvel of beauty. Amazing sands, tranquil waters pure aqua in colour, and crystal clear. You can walk a kilometre out in the ocean without going deeper than your neck. Absolutely gorgeous!
The staff have all been attentive and caring. Maybe the highlight of our trip is how warm and receptive they have been. In particular you are going to want to to see at dinner:

This was our first time to Cuba, and what a trip it was! I’ll first talk about the negatives as that’s why most are here. We had paid for the Diamond Club package which gave you perks like a VIP welcome drink (we didn’t get that), a welcome celebration (didn’t get that either), and access to premium liquor (vodka,tequila, higher end scotches) the problem is they rarely had vodka, no tequila and when they had vodka they were giving it to everyone. Also upon checking in the front desk associate confirmed we were to be in a king bed suite but when we got to the suite it had two singles so after going back to the front desk we finally got our new room with a king bed. As we were getting ready (literally no pants on) another guest walks in on us! The suite also did not have hot water until we went to the front desk complained which we were told it’s a whole resort issue and they hope to have it resolved tomorrow. We also mentioned we didn’t have the Diamond club distinctive bracelet which after checking on their computer and going to the back the associate came back, apologized and switched our bracelets, from the moment on we had hot water. The food.. I know everyone says the food sucks in Cuba. Well I’m the resort, it’s 100% true. The buffet had the same food everyday, it was bland, not appetizing. The fruit was all not ripened, the seafood pasta they had every night was like so fishy that’s all you could taste. The À la carts were underwhelming, they only good one was the breakfast the Diamond Club members got to utilize daily. Now for the positives! The beach, amazing! With the Diamond Club package you get a separate section of the beach with you own concierge, alcohol & snack bar! Well worth the money. The water was perfect every day, even on the one cloudy day, you could walk out 200ft and only be waist deep. The staff, absolutely incredible, they really made up for a lot the negatives at their resorts. They truly cared about your experience and they all were allowed to be who their are. This was a truly a calming and welcoming resort. Even with all the negatives I would recommend coming here.

The food is ok.we were 3 friends and spent 7 days in this resort.We did not like the restaurant food close to the beach as there were many mosquitos and flies were jumping into the drink and food as restaurant is open from sides.The most frustrated experience i had was when i was relaxing at the resort pool (Also showed in resort picture) in the night at 11pm when i went to my room and accidentally i forgot to take my wallet which was on pool chair.No one was there as i was the last one.When i woke up in the morning i realize i left my wallet which has all my ids,Driving licence,And $240 including canadian and US .As salary of the employees is only $30 you can imagine if you have only $5 in wallet it will not return to you.I went to the supervisor christina who roams around in the resort all times but she asked me to talk to human resource.when i talk to the lady head in human resource about my lost wallet without putting any efforts she told me its not possible to get it back.I asked what about the cameras on the pool? She said cameras not working and pool does not come under our management.I was shocked with that answer what if some one attack the tourist and take away all the belongings ? The pool employees comes to the pool at 4am in the morning and dats hard to believe that they never saw my wallet.But i insist talk to the pool employees then as a formality she send a lady who called her back in 2 minutes and said no one saw the wallet.Resort provides the locker in the room.Many tourist keep their passport and wallet in locker thinking its safe there but its not.My locker got stuck and i had to call a guy to fix it.I was surprised he has device to hook under the locker and in 30 seconds he opened it.Imagine if some one steel the wallet and passport and there is no cameras to prove that then a tourist will get stuck there untill he/she gets the passport.My other friends got feedback email from sunwing but i did not get any email so i can imagine why mostly comments are positive here.I also did mistake by reading people positive comment did not know what is going on under the table.If my personal belongings and my self are not safe as no cameras there and no one is going to take the responsibility then how can a person have peace of mind during the stay?
