Our vision: A world where Black people in the UK are treated equally in the workplace, and accurately represented in the media and the public at large Our mission: To support, champion and increase the number and seniority of Black PR professionals in senior leadership positions in the UK PR industry. Our ambition: To create a space for UK Black and mixed-Black PR and communications professionals to level up, lobby for change and give back.

Effie is a multi-award-winning former Director of PR & Comms for Hearst UK and Communications Director at Bauer Media Group. She broke barriers as the first Black Female Communications Director at a major broadcaster and publisher in the UK. Starting her career at the BBC, Effie has led teams at leading global communications agencies and worked with top tech, media, FMCG, beauty, luxury, and healthcare brands.     🎬 Last week our Black Women In Comms community group were invited to an exclusive VIP screening of Paramount Pictures latest hollywood blockbuster, A Quiet Place - Day One, starring Lupita Nyong'o, Djimon Hounsou and Joseph Quinn in London's Leicester Square. 8 members attended and connect in real life 🙌🏾 - it was so great to unwind after a long week of work and we can’t wait for our next experience this summer 🎉 Ronke Lawal, Andree Latibeaudiere, Jesutofunmi Akinde, Annique Simpson, Kehryse Johnson-Fraser MA, Marina Forsythe, Rachelle Palmer & Mushtaq Ahmed.

    Last week we held our first Black men in PR and comms mixer 🔥 Hosted by Chair Preston Onyechere it was great to connect outside of the what’s app group with great food, vibes and conversation. Our members work across a diverse range of businesses, from Arsenal and eBay to the London Stock Exchange and their own agencies. If you know a Black man in comms looking to find a peer tell them about us! UK Black Comms Network is where we are at!
