So much to say about the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity I could write a book! But first, let me start with gratitude. Saying yes to a blocks2bags x Coldr x Word on the Curb Block Brunch collaboration is probably the best gut feel decision I’ve made this year. And it almost didn’t happen. Slow and steady wins the race is my natural disposition. I calculate the risks and I’m meticulous about dotting the ‘I’s and crossing the ‘T’s (blame years of working in crisis comms and reputation management). So Coldr at the Cannes Lions was at least another couple of years away. But in business you have to embrace progress over perfection. I say this to our clients all the time. Sometimes you have to move fast and be prepared to break things. Plus: There really is no competition when you collaborate with people who know their USP, believe in their sauce and understand the role of community in building a business. I have so many thank yous: 🫡 Bola Sol for being an amazing co host. We’ve been working with our client The Phoenix Way to launch a new £2.2 million funding round dedicated to nonprofit organisations working with Black and racially minoritised youth at risk of violence. This round of the Children and Youth grant offers individual grants ranging from £50,000 to £75,000.
