August is nationally recognized as Black Business Month! Be sure to support small Black- owned businesses all year, but especially throughout this month! This annual observation presents the opportunity for economists, consumers, and all other parties apart of our economy to recognize and support Black entrepreneurs and their contributions to America's economy. 🎉 August is Black Business Month 🎉and we celebrate the creativity, resilience, and entrepreneurship within the Black community that contributes to our economy and culture. 👉 We can show some love to Black Owned businesses in these ways: 🛍️ Shop local: Explore Black-owned businesses in our area, purchasing or recommending them to friends. 💖 Appreciate diversity: Discover and celebrate the unique products, services, and experiences Black-owned businesses bring to the table. 💬 Spread the word: Share your own, or your favorite Black-owned businesses, in the comments below. This year is about unity. This year is about building. We have talked the talk for years but this year we will walk the walk. We will ensure black vendors have more opportunities. We will showcase more black talent globally. We will see deals are made and businesses grow. This year is about building and growing. We will be rooting for ALL black entrepreneurs, CEOs, CMOs, Agencies to ensure you take your place in the creative space and not just make your mark but make your dollars. Our milestones are as follows: Jan 15th 2024 beta version launch. ( you will have the ability to create a vendor account, an executive account, and a general purpose account on our platform. March 29th you will be able to start interacting with other people on the platform. June 19th you will have access of monetizing the platform and full access. This year is about creating opportunities, wealth and progression of the black creative community. Together we go further…… Let’s be creative everywhere!

Only one in fifty American businesses with a full-time employee are Black-owned. Here are some simple ways you could help fix this unfortunate reality before Black Business Month ends: 🛒 Patronize or partner with a company you believe in 🏦 Introduce the leadership to bankers, lenders, investors, accelerators, etc. that might help alleviate financial stressors 👩🏽💼 Connect the leadership with an accountant, lawyer, consultant, etc. that might help them navigate compliance and back-office stressors 🙋🏾♂️ Check in with a friend or colleague, sending them info about a company you think might resonate with them 📣 Reshare one of the company's social posts to amplify reach 👍🏾 Like or react to one of the company's posts—the algorithms like that, too Ultimately, revenue growth is the answer to reversing underrepresentation. But even small actions that take very little time or effort could have a positive ripple effect, possibly helping a Black business grow and sustain. Often, I think about how Bold Xchange is part of that one in fifty. I don't celebrate beating the odds (only one in ten Black businesses have a full-time member). Our team's energy goes toward pushing for parity. Do something big or small to join us.

Black Business Month celebrated in August is a time to acknowledge and appreciate black-owned businesses across the nation and all that they represent in the country’s continual striving for diversity and equality. When we celebrate the contribution of black business owners and entrepreneurs, it pays homage to them and their legacies, especially since celebrating this month recognizes the importance of black-owned businesses when it comes to contributing to the nation’s economy as well. Approximately 10% of all American businesses are black-owned, and if we look at what statistics say about minority-owned businesses, about 30% of these would belong to black business owners. National Black Business month is a great time to identify new Black businesses to support, and for Black business to connect to new funding and resource streams! Office Depot, the Urban League, and Elevate Together (https://lnkd.in/g87tfv5M) have partnered to provide support for Black-owned businesses that include in kind and cash grants! Federal data indicates that Black or African American business owners continue to face a disproportionate number of challenges, namely a lack of access to capital and community-centric support. Black-owned businesses represented over 9 percent of all U.S. businesses, and they represented $133.7 billion in annual receipts with 1.3 million employees and about $40.5 billion in annual payroll. This spotlight on Black businesses began in August 2004 when John William Templeton, president, and executive editor of eAccess Corp., a scholarly publishing company, and engineer Frederick E. Jordan, Sr. founded National Black Business Month to draw attention to the needs of Black entrepreneurs. https://lnkd.in/gAYH4aVN
