‘Mumbai has a different charm in the monsoons’
The actor and dancer, who grew up in Kolkata, but moved to Mumbai for his higher studies and work, says that he has his favourite spots to visit in Mumbai when it rains.
“I think the city has a different charm to it when it rains. The fragrance, saundhi khushboo, from the first spell of rain is my favourite. Kanheri Caves in Borivali is one of my go-to monsoon spots in the city. The only bad thing about monsoons is that when you are working, it is a task to reach any place on time as traffic can get crazy.” He adds, “As kids, we would go out and play football when it would rain and that used to be so much fun. I think I should get drenched when I get to take a break and just enjoy the rain.”

‘Hill stations look exceptionally beautiful when it rains’
Shantanu says that travelling during monsoons has also been on his wishlist. “I have heard of some amazing monsoon destinations. I want to visit Meghalaya, I know that it rains a lot there and travel can be challenging, but that is something I want to experience. I have heard that Meghalaya is beautiful and it looks even more beautiful when it rains. Also, I think hill stations look exceptionally beautiful when it rains. I have not explored Himachal. I would love to visit some offbeat locations near Manali. Monsoon travel will be a good experience I am sure, but this is something I can plan when I can take a break from work. I have a shoot lined up next, I think I should be able to take a break to travel after that,” he says.
