Stayed with a group at the Evenia. It is well located, just a few blocks from the Paseo de Gracia. The room (112) was small with just enough space for the bed and a desk and desk chair, but no arm chair. The bed was very comfortable. Good shower. The rooms on the street side can be a bit noisy on weekend nights, but it was not terrible. The breakfast is excellent. For the price, it is very good value. The gym, however, is a joke...a couple of bikes and that's it. So don't look to do a workout at this hotel.

Stayed in this lovely Hotel with my family, it was our first time in Barcelona . Fab location, the whole hotel is clean/ spotless , lovely bedrooms and all the staff are very helpful. The only down side is , 3 adults staying in a room , the extra bed was too small for an adult (or in our case my 16year old grandson) the extra beds provided should be a suitable size to have a comfortable night sleep in .

Booked with hotels.com on 3rd March for a one night stay on 22nd April. No contact from the hotel to say there was any problem but when I arrived on the evening of 22-Apr I was told they didn't have a room for me, but it was OK because they had booked me somewhere else!
I specifically chose this hotel because it was close to where I was working, but the hotel they sent me to was some distance away and not one I would have chosen for myself. No further explanation was offered and there was no manager there to complain to.
Basically, they left me without a choice and I had to pay to spend a night in a hotel I didn't choose which was no-where near where I needed to be.
So take care- the hotel may well be very nice, but they don't honour existing bookings and you may be left staying in the wrong place and running up additional travel costs and travel time.

Dear Mrs. Hughes, First of all, we want to express our gratitude for your confidence in EVENIA Hotels. We would also like to thank you for letting us know your concerns. We apologize for the inconvenience it may have caused but at the last moment there was a guest who was sick and had to stay at the hotel one more night, that is the reason why we made a reservation in a hotel in Barcelona (****HOTEL) with the same conditions as Evenia Rosselló. If you do not mind, we would like to contact directly with you so we can explain you the reasons that led us to host you in another hotel. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to correspond with you. We remain at your disposal. Yours faithfully,

We stayed for 2 nights pre-cruise in November. The hotel is in a lovely area away from the noise of Las Ramblas but convenient to the metro.
The staff is very nice and the lobby has a comfortable feel.

We had 2 rooms on the 4th floor in the back. Since we arrived early in the morning we wanted to get some sleep before we started our time in Barcelona. However they had already turned off the AC for the winter, and it was too warm in the room to leave the windows closed.
When we opened the window we were bombarded with noise. There is a small park in the courtyard behind the hotel. We had to do earplugs to get any sleep. Also if you don't like a hard mattress you might be disapointed in the bed.

Also the rooms are very very small. While the bathroom is adequate is isn't layed out very well. When you sit on the toilet your knees hit the vanity.

We had gotten the hotel on Priceline as a 4 star property. While I think in general it does deserve the rating in many of the categories, the room just brought it down for us.

Again the area the hotel is in is really lovely. We walked to many smaller restaurants and bakeries and just enjoyed the architecture. We were happy to not be in the Las Ramblas area with even more noise.

I hope this helps.

I stayed at the Evenia Rossello in October of 2011, and I will never be staying at this hotel again.

The rooms and food are adequate, but the service is terrible. Our room doorlock/cardreader kept breaking down, and nobody would fix it for us. The elevator broke.

But the worst, and ultimately unforgivable transgression was when my girlfriend left her wallet behind after breakfast one morning in the empty restaurant. In the time it took us to go upstairs to our room and come back down, the staff had already moved it from our table to the office behind the front desk, and yet all the large denomination bills were missing. The thief had left all the ID cards and small bills behind, as to avoid us being required to report the theft to authorities.

I asked the front desk how it could have been stolen in such a short amount of time (in THEIR OFFICE, no less) and his reply was a shrug and, "it's like leaving it on the street."

So, we wrote it off as our fault for leaving it behind (which it was), but we'd hoped that common decency would have been applicable here.

So while I can't tell you if this would happen at another hotel, I can guarantee if you leave your property unattended at the Evenia Rosello, it WILL be stolen.

Might as well take your chances at another hotel.

Stayed here for a week in October 2011. Arrived Saturday afternoon, check in was a breeze, paid £50 for the safe key. stayed in room 601, which looked out over the back of the building over the childrens park. The room was big and very quiet. The bed was so comfortable and the window could be opened which was great as the aircon was very noisy. The room was cleaned every day and was very clean, toiletries were replenished. Had breakfast across the street in Bodega Joan, one word of warning though, once they figure out you are a tourist the price is never the same twice. The walk to the metro was a block and half away to Provenca and takes about three minutes. Went everywhere on the metro, down to the beach, the port and generally very easy to use. get the ten trip card. Weather was great in October, 23c every day. I loved the Eixample area, very upmarket and loads of reasonable places to eat. supermarket opposite the hotel very useful for snacks and fruit is better than in the market. Found all the spanish people lovely. first day was the big protest march, so many people turned up for that, fascinating to see the support, thousands and thousands of protesters. Cant wait to go back and would definately use the hotel again. we booked the advance price which was excellent value

We stayed in one of the family rooms at the Evenia Rosello in June 2011. The room was spacious, air conditioned and spotlessly clean and equipped with amenities that you don't usually find in European hotels. The hotel also features a small restaurant that opens out on to a patio at the back, and the prices are quite reasonable. There is a grocery store located directly across from the hotel that has a decent selection of wines, cheese and fresh-baked goods. This came in really handy as it allowed us to pack a picnic and enjoy lunch on the go, without worrying about finding a restaurant that would meet the requirements of the picky eater in the family.
Probably the best feature of this hotel is its location. You are close to everything, but far enough away that you can get a good night's sleep after a busy day of seeing the sights. It is a five minute walk from the Diagonal subway station, one of the major lines that bisects the city. It is also about a ten minute walk to the Passeig de Gracia, where you'll find amazing shops and restaurants, as well as some of the famous Gaudi architecture.
One other little gem you will find on the street is the Bodega Joan. It is a little local bar across from the hotel. It looks like nothing special, but the food is so good and unbelieveably inexpensive. It's been around since the 1940s, so they must be doing something right. Have to give this little place a mention because you'd probably bypass it in favour of something more upscale otherwise.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the Evenia Rosello. It's the perfect hotel for families - clean, comfortable and conveniently located.

I stayed here for one night in July and again one night in August.
It was a business trip, both times and the hotel was booked by the local office staff. It is used regularly by the company and everyone has been pleased with the hotel.

The bar is a typical hotel bar, lacks atmosphere but there are bars very close by, also the restaurant is never too busy but I chose to eat in restaurants either side of the hotel and both are good.

The hotel bar does very generous measures so drink with caution!

My only disappointment was with the fitness room. It was difficult to find, had to negotiate darkness until finally finding a light switch. Very basic exercise bikes and a solitary treadmill. No resistance machines and no water supplied.

Other than that all is good, rooms nicely appointed, bathrooms are good and everything is clean.

Breakfast is a buffet with a really good choice of fresh produce.

I would definitely stay here again.

We've just got back from our first trip to Barcelona & can't wait to go back. We would definitely stay at the Cotursa Rossello again.

I was worried that city street noise might keep me awake all night as I'm used to the peace & quiet of the countryside. However, I needn't have worried...we asked for a room at the back overlooking the small terrace & children's play area & this was lovely & quiet.

The room itself was lovely, laminate flooring, part wood panelled wall with Miro-inspired lights, huge bed, plasma screen TV, mini bar (& kettle but no cups, tea, coffee or sugar?) fab sink on a wooden stand.

We didn't eat in the restaurant & only used the bar once. This was only because the Passeig de Gracia is only 5 mins walk & there's an abundance of bars, cafes & restaurants to choose from.

The staff were friendly but they didn't have a great deal of local knowledge, so we relied on the Rough Guide.

First of all, this is NOT a 4 star hotel. Don't fall for that. The rooms are ridiculously small, but ok. It's common in Europe and I could forgive that. But then, the noise level! I could hear absolutely EVERYTHING in the rooms surrounding me! There was no ventilation in the bathroom, so after you take a shower it is very hot and humid in the room. They advertise that they have A/C, but it didn't work. When we asked the staff to turn it on, they gave us some BS excuse how they cannot do that as some guests are cold. But then they had no problem turning on the heating at night! I didn't sleep for 5 days. Every time someone around us closed the door, our whole room was shaking. Horrible experience! I am never coming back here.

First of all, thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. It is true that there is a period during the year (when the temperature allows us to) in which we pause the air conditioning so that we can fix some issues. We apologize for any inconveniences. Regarding the rest of our facilities and services, we will take into consideration your opinion, but we believe that the previous point might have influenced your feelings about them. However, we take note of all your comments and are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations.

If you want the hotel's buffet breakfast, you must book room ? breakfast. It is a buffet with great variety and worth the money. However, if you are content with simpler fare, then there are some options a few minutes walk from the hotel.
