The most disgusting accommodations I've ever encountered. City of Brantford provided this motel complimentary as the shelters were full. My husband and I were treated like second class citizens at check-in. They provided us with garbage bags so we could clean our room, which had not been done in probably several patrons before us. The sheets were clearly used and no toilet paper or towels were provided, soap etc. The female owner burst into our room at 10:30 am and told us to get out now! (Check out was 11 am) and clearly posted. She stood rudely at the door until we packed our bag and left. Alot of middle of the night traffic in and out. A little scary in fact. This place should be condemned. One could only wonder if the city turns a blind eye, perhaps secret partners? Who know. I wouldn't recommend this dirtbag scummy motel to my worst enemy. FACT! Room 21

my husband stayed here on dec 11-(as a poor choice). he came home the next day covered in bed bug bites! And I mean covered! he said he actually felt himself being bit in early morning and when he went to bathroom there was one on his pj's still! I called to report to the hotel---room 5. they said they would look into it but then passed me over to the "house-keeper" who told me she did not even know what they looked like. (seemed a little "slow"). i have since reported to health unit. DO NOT STAY HERE ! we spent $$ on laundering post stay. scared that they would be brought home.

Our room was extremely outdated, good shower pressure, clean sheets and towels. It is located fairly close to the casino (aprox 3-4km)
I'm trying hard to give a positive review but everything is outdated and requires a complete overhaul if management is going to charge a price comparable to best western or super 8s they should renovate.
Management of staff was very friendly and positive and tried to accommodating our requests.
Pool was cute but the weather was to cold to go for a swim.
I could have titled this review no frills. I will not be back.

Check in was quick and friendly but the room was disappointing. Although it "seemed" clean, it felt grundgey because it was old and dated, the carpet was stained, plaster off the walls. It was a non smoking room but smelled like an accumulation of years of old smoke -there was an ashtray outside in the window ledge. Free wifi.

The rooms are clean and have a couch and a desk. Seems to be plenty quiet. Free wifi is nice for a smaller motel. Even has a pool. Window AC in the room is plenty. Staff will get you anything you need. Have stayed several times.

We had few options for motels because we were traveling with our dog. The Sherwood gets a plus for allowing our pet and for having very clean sheets and towels. However, the motel is overall rundown, outdated and grubby, and the carpet was cringe worthy. We didn't mind the lack of a coffee maker but could not believe they didn't even provide any plastic cups. The cost was comparable to a modern budget motel but nowhere near as clean or nice.

Never in my years have I witnessed such a pigsty! Roaches on bed when I turned on lights, air con was being held up with duct tape, wallpaper over wallpaper, peeling. Rug was enough to make you vomit, was absolutely filthy, and the creme e de Le creme was the lovely family movie (not) left over from the previous patron. It smelled horribly. I asked for my money back even though I booked on line, no towels not like anyone would think of using them. This place should be burned down. She refunded my money but barricaded me from the office. I’m not sure when these photos from any booking site were taken, but this motel from hell looks nothing like the pictures . I rated 1 because they do t have a minus option DONT DO IT!

I booked 2 nights with the HRC to stay out of the heat and they double booked on purpose just to turn around and smile in my face and say “ there is nothing we can do” and for context they were paid at 9:30 am and when I arrived the other person hadn’t arrived

This place is a hell hole. Do not book a room here!
We arrived, went to the room, it was run down, the smell was awful, the paint was peeling on the walls of the room, it was dirty...
it is a nightmare.
When we went to the desk to say we weren't staying the Lady on the counter started yelling at us, said the room was freshly painted and wouldn't come with me to see the peeling paint. She called me a liar.
Her husband showed up to see what she was yelling about and wouldn't come to see the condition of the room. They know the awful condition of the rooms.
The pictures online looked great and the place seemed quaint. We had stayed here many years ago when the place was under different ownership and it was a very nice place.
it is NOT a nice place now!
Don't go to this place! Run away!

I stayed here in September 2017. Room was very grungy and dark--no overhead light, only a dull lamp in the bedroom. I should have left when I saw the old blood stains on the bed sheets. Woke up COVERED in bedbug bites from head to foot. Owner and the cleaner did not believe me, so I went back in the room and caught 3 bedbugs in a cup. Took all my stuff outside and removed half-a-dozen more that were on my bags. Owner gave us a refund for the night we stayed and helped wash/dry all our things. We cancelled our second night. I spent the entire rest of the day repeatedly steam cleaning my possessions. I was suffered from incredibly itchy, red welts for the rest of my 3 day vacation.
Not sure if I blame the owners. They called an exterminator after we left. And their cleaner said she'd never seen bedbugs there before. From the amount that I was bitten, there surely must have been a significant infestation in the room. I was happy that I didn't have to argue and throw a fit to receive my refund, and that they helped with laundry. Still tho.... would never ever ever ever stay there again.
