Really good value hotel. Close to metro links if you don't want to walk. Restaurant next door (Balthazar) was also excellent value and very good service - English menu available on request etc. Thought that a cash refundable deposit of 50 EUROS for the safe was an inconvenience although they did accept 50 English pounds insteead which meant we kept our EUROS to spend in the city. The deposit was refunded however, no problems. Staff were very pleasant. Room was immaculate. We didn't do the breakfast option but coffee and croisants were available at little cafes nearby. There is a kids play area at the rear of the hotel which kept our 5 year old son amused for some of the time. Would stay here again!

My sister in law and I spent 4 nights in this hotel, and apart from being chilly on the first night( it was the 1st cold night of the season) we found the hotel and it's staff warm, and friendly. We would particularly like to mention the warmth, and care we received from Sandra, and Romanne in the restaurant.
We stayed on a half-board basis, and generally thought the food was of a high standard.
We both have back problems, but found the beds some of the most comfortable experienced in a hotel.
Well done Evenia, and thankyou for your hospitality

This hotel is rated 4-star, which it didn't even come close to! The main problem was that it is filthy dirty. The rooms were okay but the hallways were dirtier than any I've ever seen in a hotel. Desk clerks were helpful and pleasant, but bar/restaurant employees were not. Location of the hotel is good, with plenty of restaurants nearby. Would not recommend this place to anyone, however.

where are the tea-making facilites - not a kettle, cup or saucer in sight! This hotel, in my opinion is NOT a four-star hotel!! Yes, the rooms are very nice but the blanket had "mysterious stains" on it (not nice) and the carpets outside the rooms where filthy (they should be replaced apart from being cleaned). The mini-bar was over-priced and the chips and peanuts looked as cheap as chips (excuse the pun!) but at 2.40 euros each a ridiculous price. On the plus side the breakfast was very good - good selection of meats, fruit, cheese, bread, drinks etc. The restaurant was clean but the decor looked a bit down-market...(bright lights, practical beige tiled floor with cheap furniture).

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone seeking Spainish authenticity or for a romantic setting but for a last minute 3 STAR bargin break, then it's fine.

This hotel is in not in the heart of Las Ramblas, its a cheap taxi ride 6 Euros or you can catch a metro. Metro station is about four blocks from here. There is an awesome restaurant few doors down from the hotel La Mascara the adress is en Rosello 197-08036 Barcelona tel 93 368 6071. The best food ever we ordered three different dishes and they all tasted different and yummy.. awesome owner. Most of the restaurants close in between lunch and dinner hours but they were so nice they were still getting ready to open when we went there because my daughter was hungray they served us eventhough they weren't open.
