The Colonnate Hotel garners acclaim for its exceptional amenities, including a rooftop pool and well-appointed rooms, with a central location that's perfect for exploring Boston's attractions. While guests have called out the hotel's commendable service and welcoming atmosphere, a handful have experienced lapses in service. The modern, yet occasionally dated, rooms are consistently recognized for their cleanliness and comfort. Opinions on value vary, with some travelers finding reasonable rates, but others pointing out overpricing and additional expenses.

We traveled to Boston having decided to leave our rural northern New York "covid bunker" and finally travel somewhere. We wanted to go somewhere within driving distance as we decided to invite our two adult children along. We chose Boston because we lived in the city many years ago. Having some familiarity with hotels in Boston, we chose location first and then searched for "deals"...which we knew there would be plenty. We struck gold with the Colonnade Hotel. Located across from the Prudential Center and in the Back bay as well as at a "T" stop, it was perfect.

The staff was extremely friendly upon check-in and throughout our stay. The rooms were well appointed and very clean, spacious and comfortable. The continental breakfast, or "coffee and muffins" was fine first thing in the morning. We were disappointed "Lucie!" the restaurant was not open, but completely understood due to COVID.

We took note of the number of pets staying at the hotel, for anyone wanting to travel with pets...they obviously accept pets and are very accommodating.

We paid $145 per night in October- over the long weekend 10/10-10/12 and thoroughly enjoyed the city ..thanks to good weather and company!

We would definitely recommend this hotel and will return in the future.

So well positioned and close to iconic places as well as transport , restaurants and shopping. A decent room size we had two double beds with a rollerway as an extra ( no charge) and we still had a reasonable amount of room. Comfortable beds/ pillows with the best linen ever! We had a lovely city view and no road noise . It was very tastefully renovated with great lounges/ breakfast area - seating luxurious and comfortable. The free breakfast was very adequate with a range of fruit , yogurt and breakfast eats. A restaurant is about to open. The staff were amazing from the moment you entered you were warmly greeted by Norman and welcomed professionally by the reception. Top marks to all staff including housekeeping. Nothing was too much trouble. They made it their job for you to feel special and remembered. I would definitely stay again and would highly recommend on every aspect.

My husband and I brought our adult son here for two nights this past week. My husband had never been to Boston and the getaway was an early birthday gift for our son. I selected the Colonnade because I got a great deal through TravelZoo—$199 per night plus discounted parking.
What a fantastic location. The hotel is within walking distance to Newbury Street AND Fenway and the T is right outside the door.
Check-in was facilitated by the lovely Samantha, who provided us with stellar front-desk service throughout our stay.
Our room suited our requirements perfectly—two exquisitely comfortable queen beds with great linens and pillows, a spotless bathroom, a fridge, and sparkling windows that insulated us from the traffic noises six floors below. Minor housekeeping hiccups (no wastebaskets and not enough towels) were handled with courtesy and dispatch by Irene and she would continue to anticipate our every need. Kudos to her! Our only quibble with our room was the inconsistent climate control. Although we slept well, the temperature in our room fluctuated wildly during the night.
I’m not a fan of Keurig machines, so rather than employ the one in our room, I took advantage of the complimentary coffee in the lobby each morning. Dan and Angelis were wonderful to chat with while I filled my cup. The lobby of the Colonnade is one of the nicest ones I have ever come across; actually, all the public areas were above reproach. We did not use the well-appointed gym but the sultry weather prompted us to avail ourselves of the rooftop pool. (Word to the wise: if you want to sit or recline, get there EARLY.) Sam and Melissa were charm personified.
As a Mom, retired teacher, former Cub Scout leader AND a Virgo, I pride myself on being prepared for every travel contingency but I did not pack a toothbrush for our son (he moved out 14 years ago 😂) or an umbrella because the forecast did not call for rain. Front Desk Samantha gave our forgetful boy a toothbrush and on Tuesday evening, Jenna lent me an umbrella for the walk to Fenway. Thanks, Jenna! Everyone at the front desk, including the manager whose name I neglected to get, deserves a large bonus in their paychecks. And finally, I have enough men in my life but should my husband and son ever vanish, I would go back to Boston and kidnap Hicham and Norman. They are a real credit to the Colonnade.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone traveling to Boston.

We stayed in the hotel on the 8th January and it was perfectly acceptable. Rooms were large however I have one gripe, we paid a deposit on our UK credit card for 100 dollars. 21 days later this has not been refunded to the card when we were told by the hotel that this would be done last week. Its frustrating that it takes so long for money to be returned onto my account.

Stayed here with my son for a college visit. Staff was friendly and helpful. There was an AC vent in the hall that caused a vibration in our room and Orlando sent someone immediately to turn it off and offered a room change if it could not be remedied. Convenient location to everything. Felt clean and safe during Covid, and the breakfast options offered were better than anything I’ve had at other hotels during these strange times. Parking was included when I booked on the hotel website but that may be a limited offer. Would definitely stay here again!

Chris and his team are amazing, they have an incredible demeanor and helped me out to resolve a problem that was 100% my mistake.

Their rooftop deck is amazing and the wait staff, Dave in particular, is super nice and friendly.

The room has a very comfortable bed and for those people who like high water pressure, you have nothing to worry about.

Our visit to Boston was so special in part to our experience in the Colonnade.
The location can’ even beat. So close to everything.
The room was well appointed with “quiet” views of the “action” on the streets below.
The fitness Center is “first rate” and the roof deck pool looks fantastic when we come back this summer.
Most of all, the staff is well trained, but even more important, they genuinely wanted us to be “comfortable” during our four night stay.
👍We highly recommend The Colonnade Hotel.

Hotel was nice, rooms were comfortable, and the location was good. That was kind of where it ended. The level we stayed on reeked of weed, my husband got stuck in the bathroom just from shutting the pocket door (when I called to get maintenance there wasn’t even an I’m sorry), poor was over crowded a lot of the times with multiple people stating they weren’t even staying there. Even though their website clearly states that only hotel guest Thursday thru Sunday. Then when we went to check out there was a $25 a night “resort/service” fee!!!! This was not addressed when we checked in nor was it noted anywhere when we made the reservation. We travel a lot and have stayed in hotels even nicer than this one where any type of additional fees were communicated upfront or there was no additional fee at all (cities like Savannah, New Orleans, Asheville). I get that you have a nice pool but then make sure your guests are taken care of and can use the amenities. For us we had enough to keep us busy in the city for the 3 days we were there but just something to think about if you make a reservation.

We stayed here for 5 nights during the Boston Marathon in a Superior King. The room was lovely & comfortable & the hotel was in a perfect place for the Marathon, walking distance to the expo, bus start & an easy walk post finish.

The staff were lovely & the hotel was decorated with Boston Strong as well as the staff all wearing jackets in the final few days.

I was surprised that breakfast was not served until 7am on the day of the marathon which was too late, but the cafe across the road was open from 5am and on all other days we ate at Thorntons just down the road where the breakfasts were fantastic & you often had to queue.

The bar & restaurant was lovely for an evening.

Overall this was one of the best value hotels in a central location for the marathon & I would thoroughly recommend.

My husband and I just celebrated our 3 year anniversary here! The hotel was pristine and we felt very safe staying there in the midst of a pandemic. The room was very spacious and comfortable. It was a bit cold so we didn't get the chance to enjoy the rooftop pool but we will definitely be back!
