Beautiful location! Food is awesome, staff is so friendly and helpful. I stayed in room #5. My room was clean, cozy and comfortable. It is a great location for snowmobilers, the trail runs right into the parking lot. It is an older motel so if you are going expecting the Sheridan Hotel, it isn't. Comfy beds, clean bathrooms and shower, TV that works and a clean fridge for food and drinks. The only thing I would warn of is the train tracks run across the road not too far away from the motel and at 3am they blow the horn! Haha, but otherwise awesome spot! Has fuel on site, I highly recommend for snowmobilers!

First, if you are looking for plush bedding, pillow top mattresses, granite countertops and a modern feel...wrong place. If you are looking for a decent clean place for the night along Hwy 144 between Sudbury and Timmins...this place is fine...3star..however, if you want exceptional friendly service you gotta stay here. these people are the best.
On a recent snowmobile trip here the owners went out of their way to be helpful when we had some issues, very accommodating and just plain over and above any service you get at ANY of those hotels with the pillow top mattresses and granite fixtures.
the room is nice enough...the beds...kind of hard, not nice headboards but everything clean. Two things we struggled with..first there is no temperature control in the room...register heating like in your house with someone else in charge and it was just too hot...had to leave window open in winter...which then let in highway truck traffic noise. We should have simply put something on top of the register. Second thing...tiny thing but not shampoo...lots of soap packets but no shampoo. A REAL nice touch...the satellite TV has the MOVIE NETWORK...which is awesome...and a nice modern flatscreen TV.
the restaurant...if your menu most have the words like "coulis" and "tartare" in them...nope, not the place for you. Good honest diner food served with a smile and at a reasonable price - including great breakfast items...eat here.
In short, if you were to compare this place to a Marriot type of spot, on its own a 2 to 3 star place...for a side of highway in northern Ontario spot...clean, comfortable and the best service you could possibly find ANYWHERE and I mean ANYWHERE...check them out.
For the snowmobilers out there - this is literally right on the trail, right beside Windy lake Provincial Park. a ton of parking and both regular and premium gas on site. Also if you leave your truck keys in your room and your sled breaks down, call them and they will bring your truck and trailer and go pick you up. Did I mention this place as terrific service?

Northern Penna.
This hotel is a small hotel remotely located and is mostly used by guys on their way fishing or workers overnighting. It does have a restaurant attached which offers average meals. No other amenities are available, older building but the staff did keep it fairly clean and it is a recommended place to sleep if you need something in this area. Best to call ahead because they do not have that many units available. 2 fishing buddies stayed here and our unit had a twin bed and a single bed in a small room. I thought it was overpriced but our options were limited as there is not much else to chose from for miles!

This place is falling apart. The rooms are disgusting and old. We were there for 2 nights and didn't get clean towels or the bed made. The fridge stunk so bad we wouldn't put anything in it. Our bed looked like an over sized camp cot. We were charged$78 per night. The owners should be ashamed of themselves for renting rooms in this condition.

Motel needs to be renovated or re-built from scratch. I'm sure the carpets are 50 years old and so is the furniture . You can find better furniture in a dump . How can you even charge to stay there it should be free to accommodate travels who are in desperate need . Unbelievable! my hunting shack is better than this!

Windy Lake is a great place. It is remote, but is surrounded by Lakes and Forest. Gorgeous views. Right across from beautiful Windy Lake Provincial Park. Friendly, helpful staff. Restaurant and convenience store on site as well as gas and diesel sales. Clean rooms, good food. They offer after hours check-ins and will always go out of their way to fulfill any and every request from a customer. I can't say enough about this place. I simply love it. I go there at any and every opportunity.

Don't let the title scare you. The place is fairly clean, friendly staff, safe, quiet, reasonable and the only motel in the area. The restaurant is good. The rooms are sufficient, we-fi works, so what the heck.
