- LindsaySudbury, Canada44 contributionsI’ve been to Onaping Falls a few times now. It’s absolutely stunning in all seasons. I appreciate that it’s one of the easier “hikes” in the area. The graffiti on the rocks is definitely a downside, it’s deeply disappointing that people choose to deface a gorgeous natural landscape like that.Written December 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sean MWhitby, Canada15 contributionsHad a nice evening walk along the boardwalk. Would recommend. It was a nice warm July night, bugs weren’t bad if you kept walking and it was well lit.Written July 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David BToronto, Canada402 contributionsStopped in here today, just to kill a couple hours, really enjoyed ourselves. Honestly, they have a bit of everything for all ages too. The train museum of course, mix of some indoor displays and some outdoor locomotives and rolling stock. Plus, a lot of railroad memorabilia and history from this part of Ontario. They also had a bunch of artifacts from logging and mining, including some fairly unique railroad items. Also an outdoor children’s train themed large play area and some attractive horticultural gardens. Then, down the road, included with your ticket, is the old firehall with historic displays, upstairs some cultural and sports memorabilia from the area and the basement had some beautiful operating model railroads. So, some of everything for everyone.Written July 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- kjkTorontoToronto, Canada1,070 contributionsWe did the Point Trails Loop 1 hike. It was quite pleasant with nice views of the lake. Good views vs the effort of the hike. We had planned to also do Loop 2 but it was a hot enough day that we decided that we had likely seen the best of the views on Loop 1 already so we headed for lunch instead.Written July 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - holiday4jsSudbury, Canada30 contributionsBeautiful park, gorgeous long sandy beach with nice clear water, nice boat launch and great dog beach where everyone was quite respectful of the leash rule or had well behaved pups with good recall. Our site (34) was well situated between toilets and water access and across from the trail BUT our only complaint that unfortunately ruined our weekend this the trains going by at what seemed like every half hour all night and blowing the horn VERY close by.Written June 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Richard GSudbury, Canada13 contributionsWe recently attended the viewing of Johnny Cash. This is agreat date night activity. We went for dinner and went to the theatre. They have a comfortable lounge to have a cocktail on arrival and during intermission. The staff are courteous and very helpful.Written November 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- NikAjax, Canada21 contributionsGreat place to camp out north of Ontario. Great staff and clean place. The toilets needs some work but better than others out there. Plenty of birds around .Be prepared with bug spray coz it can get crazy during evening time. Quiet lake around and can swim. Network coverage is bad hence perfect for camping.
Canoe rentals are available at the park office.
Not so great hiking place. We went to Chutes Park for hikes.Written July 4, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Sometimes you need to climb over or under fallen trees or cross wet areas by walking on one or more logs. I occasionally had to use my hands to climb up a rocky area. The water source for backcountry campsite #1 is a 5 min walk south of the site, just follow the trail. I don't think campsite #1 is suitable for hammock camping. Saw lots of grouse on the hike out. Loved the whole experience.Written September 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
