We were very impressed with Desert Breezes Resort from the moment we arrived. The resort is located within a gated community at the boundary of the Palm Desert and Indian Wells communities.
The office staff had us checked in quickly and we were assigned a unit which conformed with requests we had made prior to our arrival.
RCI exchange guests have six buildings to choose from. Each building has six units, four down and two upstairs. Each building has a jetted spa for the exclusive use of those living in that building, and a free laundry. The units are well maintained as are the grounds.
This is a well established resort community which is centrally located for sightseeing and enjoying area attractions.
Our unit was a two bedroom located upstairs, overlooking the pond and family pool. The unit has a large living room/dining room combination and a kitchen large enough for a couple to work together in. Both bedrooms are large and the master has a king bed and a nice ensuite with a shower. The second bedroom has twin beds. The other bathroom has a tub/shower combination. There are flat screen televisions in the living room and both bedrooms. The living room could use a bigger, newer model. Wireless internet is good and free!
We spent time on our small balcony and enjoying the view of the pond and watching the many turtles who live there and the water fowl that come by. The family pool is large but was not noisy at all. There is an adult pool located adjacent to the office. We never saw anyone utilizing it.
The resort offers complimentary activities during the week: movies, waffle breakfast, ice cream, root beer floats, etc.
All in all, a very good resort experience!

Desert Breezes is an older property but is well-kept, the staff takes great pride in keeping the grounds and pools in great shape. The pond is a relaxing touch. The two-bedroom unit is very large and has one king bed and two twins in the second room, tons of closet space and two full bathrooms. There is a pull-out couch in the family room but I can't imagine anyone other than a small child on it. The only drawback are the pillows (bring your own). The resort is located close to dining, golf and shopping at the corners of Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta and Bermuda Dunes. Overall, a quiet, relaxing place to unwind for a week; we would go back.

My family has been coming here for years. This review is for our most recent visit. I would rate it very average. The best quality about this property is the downstairs units that are open to a beautiful lawn which allows easy access to the pool and a place for the kids to run around. Upon checking into the unit it was nowhere near stocked. There were no linens or pillows for the sofa bed, no ice or ice cube trays, no BBQ cleaning utensils. These items were provided on request but I feel it is reasonable to expect them to be there already. The most unsettling thing was that the patio table was completely full of dust which shows me that it hadn't even been wiped down between guests. That is unacceptable especially during covid times in my opinion. One would like to believe that sanitizing protocols were more thorough during the continued pandemic which was not the case at all.

My family has come here for close to 40 years. Rooms are decent and clean however they have stopped mid week cleaning for guests who stay more than 3 days and they only exchange towels on request. 3 different spas were broken and dirty. The plaster outside the largest pool is falling apart and hurts your feet when barefoot near the pool. The tennis club pool was filthy and unmaintained inside and outside the pool. This place has beautiful scenery to admire and a quiet atmosphere to relax however the entire resort has really declined to a point that we no longer desire to stay here. Maintenance doesn’t fix anything and staff is nonexistent. I would not recommend staying here.

Response from Resort Reviews, Guest Services / Front Office at Desert Breezes Resort
Responded Sep 15, 2023
We do apologize that your stay did not meet your expectations. Unfortunately, we no longer offer a mid-week cleaning service but offer a towel exchange on Tuesdays or anytime during your stay by request. We are aware that the main pool deck is in need of refurbishment, and have planned for this project to be completed in the summer of 2024. Regarding the tennis clubhouse pool, we apologize and have forwarded your concerns to Desert Breezes Master Housing Association as they strictly maintain those facilities. We are excited for the future under the Capital Vacations umbrella and look forward to providing a positive and consistent stay for our guest. Thank you for your feedback.

We are here right now and I have to say that you need to consider the downside and the plus.

We are in a 1b ground floor, the place is outdated on the older side like others mentioned but it is clean. It could use some upgrades like the showers/tubs and stove.

Be aware that if you have people above you it will be a nightmare. It's like we have a herd of elephants above us, nothing we can do the construction is cheap. It is hard to deal with this to be honest so if you don't like noise request a second floor unit.

Our stove is old and only have 2 electric burners working and the sliding door doesn't lock. We reported it.

The pool needs some TLC looks like there is a plan to resurface the entire area as it is falling apart but the pool area is nicely laid out with plenty of seating and share options.

I have to say that people staying here are really nice and respectful. The apartment has the basics and it's well located.

For family with kids the pool is fun as they will meet others and play together all day.

I would come back if I can secure an upstair unit or make sure no one will be upstairs.....

Despite it being entirely true that the property is in need of an upgrade, we enjoyed our stay. The grounds are in excellent condition and the unit was very clean. Desert Breezes has a certain charm that we found calming. Expansive grounds and well insulated units made our unit seem larger than it was.

It may have had a minor interior upgrade in the past 15 years, but that’s it. Should they (whoever that is) make an investment in the kitchens, baths and furnishings (and maybe put in a lap pool at the club house?) the property could easily jump from 3 to 4 stars.

First visit for my husband and I this week for a week long stay. Very impressed with this beautiful resort and the hardworking staff here. While a bit older, it’s clear the team here has worked hard to keep the infrastructure and grounds in great shape. The units are spacious, well appointed and clean and tidy. Bed was very comfortable and the pools and grounds were superbly maintained throughout the property. We had a chance to interact with both Greg and Erica at the front desk who were both very friendly and very helpful. Overall this was an excellent stay in a beautiful spot and we are looking forward to our next visit.

The room(s) are spacious and it was nice to have a second bathroom. However, ownership has pinched pennies on every aspect of this resort. All the furniture looked like it had just been dropped off from the Goodwill. Workmanship on toilet paper holder and baseboard wouldn't pass any junior high shop class evaluation. Our room smelled. Grounds were well cared for, but pool and spa needed to be resurfaced. Front desk seemed disinterested in making our stay enjoyable. The Motel 6 is a much better bargain.

Very nice resort. It's a gated community. The pools were great. the weather was perfect, mid 90s to low 100s every day, cool nights. No restaurants or much to do at the resort, but there are lots of restaurants nearby. Our 1- bedroom apartment had a full kitchen, dining room, living room, bedroom, and 2 bathrooms. Outdoor patio, table and chairs. Room was very clean and comfortable.

We have stayed numerous times at Desert Breezes. We were pleased to see some upgrades at the pool with more lounge chairs, and (finally!) more umbrellas. The rooms are getting a little older and more dated, but still clean, pleasant, and comfortable. The staff is VERY helpful with any issues that come up. We come here in the summer when numbers of hotel guests are considerably down, so there is a tradeoff between high heat but few people to share the pool with. We love the short walk to the pool, which makes it easy to go back and forth to the room as needed.

We found anyone that does smoke, is on their Patio and not in the suite. People that were at the pool ended up leaving the pool area and would come back. Not a big concern for us.
