My husband and I stayed in the Penthouse with our 8 year old daughter. Stunning views off the balcony of this suite and very well appointed furnishings, kitchen etc. You cannot beat the private beach here. It is absolutely gorgeous. Also, the large swimming pool on site is a bonus and precautions are in place to allow only single families/cottages at one time. Finally, we didn't bring bedding as was requested, but the owners were incredibly accommodating and got us what we needed immediately. Thanks for a great weekend!

This was our first visit to Deer Park Lodge and it won’t be our last! We already booked for next year and are thinking about a fall trip too! We loved our stay in Cottage 5 Birchcliffe. Everything was very clean and had all the kitchen necessities. We had a nice private fire pit for our evenings and a small deck where you could sit and soak in the sun and hear the waves! The beach was wonderful, private beach for the lodge only, so we were able to keep your distance and still have any amazing beach experience each day! You also can not beat the sunsets on this beach! The cabana offered ice cream and hot dogs throughout the day and the ability to rent floaters and paddle boards which were big hits with the kids. You also can’t beat the staff here! We love Ava!!! Super friendly, total family oriented staff who will do anything to make it a great stay for you!

After our stay in June, we wanted to go back for a fall getaway and again it was a great experience. No contact check in and check out, we rented a different cottage and this one had even better views of the lake. Watching the sunset at the beach or on our deck was amazing. Staff was readily available and replaced a leaky water kettle within minutes. Wish I could have stayed longer, so peaceful and relaxing.
We will definitely go back next year.

My husband and I rented a cottage here for two summers in a row now. This year we also rented with friends and their kids. We have two small children who love it. We stayed in Cottonwood and Bayfield House. The cottages are clean inside and provide the basics. They have a playground in the middle of all the cottages, the pool is beautiful and the beach is the best part. We feel like we are on a tropical vacation when we are on the beach. It is very clean and they also have a great washroom, which is really helpful with children.
They have wifi and a streaming system to watch Netflix and other great shows and movies if it's raining out.
The staff are great! They are available and always trying to accommodate.
They also have a great hill and set of stairs to work out on in the morning. lol We love this!
We typically spend most of the time on the beach then the pool and we will go to Point Farms to hike one day and an afternoon in Bayfield to shop and grab some dinner.
We recommend Deer Park Lodge to all of our friends.

Thank you, Kirsten and team for a great holiday.

We decided to try this cottage resort for our summer trip this year. We had a great time overall. The cottage was very clean when arrived and it was convenient to book a timeslot to use the pool (there was plenty of time slots and never any issues). Our kids preferred pool to beach but we did go back and forth between the two. The beach definitely is a huge highlight, 97 very shallow stairs to walk down to get there. But once you are down at the beach it is well worth the walk down. The beach is very deep with lots of room to play/sit. I would say for me the negative would be being right on hwy 21, the road noise can be loud in certain places- specifically the pool and our cottage was also on the side closer to road. Nothing they can do about that but it is a pretty busy highway.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. We likely won't be back since we prefer not to go back twice to the same place :) but it met our expectations for cottage trip!

We stayed at Deer Park Lodge in July 2020. The cottage certainly did not meet the website's description of "covid clean" or sanitized. We brought our own sheets and linens as advised. However, the mattress cover was stained on one bed and there wasn't a mattress cover on the top bunk bed. The furnishings were so dirty that we were able to write "dust me" on them. The hosts were barely there and when they were around they certainly were not hospitable.
The grounds were overgrown and not well kept. Lawn chairs and bbq were filthy. The saving grace for this vacation was definately the private beach. It was a great idea to put names on the beach chairs and keep them for the week.

My husband and I were in the Bayfield House cottage. It is attractive, roomy and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals. It has a large screen tv that we didn't use. However, if the weather had been bad it would have been nice to have. There is a nice big table for meals and playing board games on. The pool of course was closed but we had great weather for walking and lounging on the beach. There are many places to view the amazing sunsets on the property but not from this cottage. We usually walked down to the beach for this. We thought the Lodge was centrally located to enjoy a variety of activities. We shopped in Bayfield, visited Goderich and hiked at Pointe Farms Provincial Park. It should be noted that many of the restaurants in Bayfield are not open Monday or Tuesday at this time of the year.
The owner Kristen responded to questions sent by email very quickly.
We would definitely recommend Deer Park Lodge and hope to return again.

I can’t say enough about this beautiful place:) from the courtyard done up in Edison lights at night, to the cleanliness:) like you could literally smell the Pinesol when you walked in, to the friendliness of the owners:) we absolutely loved it:) the beach was pristine! Complete with loungers:) and what makes it all so perfect, it’s private! So there’s only the number of people on the beach that rent out the cottages and there’s only 20, so it’s very quaint:) we are already booking for next year:)

From booking our stay to arranging a later departure time, communication with the owner was easy and effective. The Bayfield House was pristinely clean. The beds were comfortable and everything was well maintained. We had a wonderful fall getaway 🍁👍🏻🍁

So came back for a return trip to Deer Park three years after my first, awesome experience. This time, it was a girl’s weekend. We rented the whole penthouse building and we had a fabulous time- the sunsets from the penthouse or on the beach, the very relaxed vibe on the resort grounds, cycling into town for shopping and dinner ! All so fun and so easy - the beach was as spectacular as I remember it, our accommodations sparkling clean, and incredibly reasonable pricing. Still amazing!
