Very clean and well maintained Campgroud. Large sites. Lots of shade.
On the Highwood River trail system.
A 2 minutes walk to town for restaurants, bars and shops.
Camphost couples are great ambassadors, very friendly and helpful. Definitely we will be back.

The camp hosts are friendly and informative in this busy campground, but the facilities are very basic, including the 'electric only' sites.
It is however within walking distance to restaurants and shopping.

We camp every May long weekend at this Campground and have always found the hosts to be super friendly and helpful!! There are always a lot of kids around, considering there is a huge playground just outside of the entrance to the campground. Bonus is that we have a quick walk to the Little Britches Parade Route when it is on (lots of candies for the kids). Showers and washrooms are super clean. Sites can be a little tight to get into, as they have posts fencing off the grass areas so that people don't drive over the grass.
The only downside is that the dump station is on the left hand side of the main entrance, meaning you are in oncoming traffic while dumping. There is enough room for people to get by you, though.

This was my second time and last time staying there. First time, my friend, myself and my 2 grandchildren. Second time it was just myself and my grandchildren which are 5 and 7 yrs old. When I checked in I told Darlene that we were staying nights but I had to go to work during the day (we stayed during the week). Her question was “Are you taking the kids?” It didn’t dawn on me until we were set up how insulting this question actually was - especially without knowing me!!! What did she think? That I would actually leave them there to fend for themselves for 8 hours!!
I decided to stay an extra night and brought firewood from home to save a few $$. It was windy so I moved my truck to block the wind and keep sparks from flying. We were out by the fire the whole time except when I went into the camper so I could get the kids into their PJs. An old man camp attendant came by and started to tell me very sternly and very rudely “Someone has to be at the fire at all times! Do you see those trees (as he looked 30’ in the air)? And get your truck off the grass!”
I got my truck off the grass and promptly hooked up. I will NOT be going back.
Is there a problem talking to people like humans? If they are sick of people then they need to move along.
Also lots of noise from the vehicles ‘ratting around the park’ and a white truck patrolled the campground every 15 minutes - a little overkill seeing as there were no partiers and it was the middle of the week. Hate to see what it’s like on weekends.

Weve been coming here for 13 years and absolutely love it!! The washrooms are clean, staff are as accommodating as they can be, sites are kept clean and the location is perfect. Forgot your deodorant? Walk to Sobeys! Need ice on a hot day? Its available at the office. Theyre a no nonsense bunch here so dont try to party late or break the simple rules - youll be asked to leave. Yes, the sites are power only but potable water is easily accessed no matter where in the park youre at. And lets not forget the fantastic events held in the park on Canada Day, the music in the park on Sundays and lots of other events throughout the season. Look, when you walk through a campground and can address other campers by their first names because youve gotten to know each other over the years, you know youve found a great place!!!

+1
We visited High River and took a walk to this park. What a lovely unexpected find. There is a bandstand where Sunday afternoon concerts take place. There is a great childrens play park and lots of walks along the paths.
Can’t speak for the campground as only visited the park.

We have been coming to this campground for about 15 years. Very well maintained, but the main hosts ( names Wolf and Darleen) they are not nice and threaten campers it they do anything they don’t like. We will not be back until these two are not there anymore.

We have stayed here many times and we will stay many more times. We like the location along the Happy Trail and near the downtown. The shower/washroom facilities are very clean. The wifi is appreciated and it is great to have power. One tiny improvement I would suggest is plug ins in the shower building so hair dryers can be used.

We camped for 2 nights with our grandsons. The staff were friendly, the campsites clean and spacious, the facilities first rate and it abuts the scenic downtown, not to mention very clean bathrooms. For anyone visiting Calgary and area this is an ideal location, just 40 kms from Calgary. The walking/bike trail adjacent to the campground provides a decent ride along the river and across towns. The speed bumps provides young children great bump riding on their bikes. Our only suggested improvement would be to start quiet hours at 10 pm

A mature treed campground on the banks of the Sheep River and walking distance to downtown. Clean washrooms with showers. Power only to sites. Only one sewer dump station - can be a real inconvenience.
