Exactly what I expect from a Garden Inn…..nice rooms (nothing special), decent breakfast, and good service…. Now if you're expecting to have a bellhop at your beckon call, or valet parking well then this Garden Inn is probably not for you......but for a reasonably priced basic hotel it was just fine......

Other: The location is great…next to the Children’s Discovery Museum and right in front of the baseball stadium, a block or 2 from the TN Aquarium, the river, and only 1 block from multiple dining options and even a movie theater……you can just about walk everywhere you want to go.......excellent stay….

Everything in Chattanooga is within walking distance. The breakfast buffet was a little sparse in my mind but good.
The buffet hostess was very efficient.
Air conditioner in our room was noisy and the toilet was easily stopped up.
(I thought the remote didn't work. Called down for another. The lady brought 1 up but I discovered the TV was unplugged at the unit? We conveniently tipped her anyway. Hmm? The TV was unplugged? That's a new one to me. ) Nice front desk people. I don't want to complain about the price of the valet parking and breakfast but I could. Okay...why are we charged for those? Shouldn't that be a nice amenity?

Room Tip: Check to see if your TV is plugged in. It might save you a couple (or 5) bucks.

Response from Andrea Anderson, General Manager at Hilton Garden Inn Chattanooga Downtown
Responded Oct 12, 2021
Dear Guest, Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay. Regarding some of your questions, please see below: - Upon cleaning a room, the staff may unplug units to move to be able to detail the area. - Unfortunately, we do not own the space where guest park & must pay for the area. - Breakfast cost can be included in your room rate, if not we must charge - Please know that due to COVID, our staff is now preparing items as ordered instead of presenting in the buffet area; all cold and individually wrapped items are on the buffet space. Hopefully, the above explains our current operations. We hope to see you again on your next visit to Chattanooga.

Our experience overall was very good and we would stay here again if visiting the area in the future. Location is good, especially if you are traveling with children (the Creative Discovery Museum is next door and the Tennessee Aquarium is very close) and if attending a Chattanooga Lookouts baseball game, AT&T Field is adjacent to the hotel parking lot (for those interested in local history, there is an interesting historical marker at the top of the hill behind the hotel that is within easy walking distance).

As far as hotel condition, our experience was generally positive. While some wear and tear was observed (worst we saw was a chipped toilet tank lid in the room), condition was fine and our room and the lobby were clean and nice. Beds were comfortable as well.

Staff was friendly and the bartender offered some great advice on restaurant options and how to get there.

The person working valet parking was on break when we arrived, so we self-parked (same price as valet), but the parking was in front of the lobby main entrance, easily accessible, and plenty of parking available.

My husband, 2 teenagers, and I spent thanksgiving in Chattanooga and I am so happy I chose this hotel for our stay! Chris is a delightful friendly helpful person at the front desk. Courtney is personable and talkative, and helped us to feel right at home. Andy is a fun friendly bar tender and the prices at the bar are very reasonable. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed. The breakfast was really perfect- my teenagers could order French toast and waffles; my husband and I could get omelettes made to order. We used the workout room and the valet parking was on point. We are going to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn every time we come to Chattanooga. I highly recommend it!

This is within a couple blocks to walk to many of the downtown restaurants and attractions. It appeared older, but seemed to be well maintained. Our room was clean and comfortable and had standard amenities including a large flat TV, microwave and mini-fridge. Our room had a very nice balcony which we enjoyed sitting and watching the activity on the streets below. They have an indoor pool and fitness room. The breakfast was a very good buffet and also included made to order eggs, pancakes and French toast. Valet parking was $18.
