Great hotel right on the water. Service is amazing and you always are made to feel special. Restaurant is excellent and bartenders (Erica and Mike especially) are fantastic. Rooms and all modern and the jacuzzis overlooking the water are amazing.

Currently staying at this hotel. Front desk staff is lovely and immediately offered us warm cookies. They then hit us with a ridiculous $12 per day parking fee. I understand charging anyone who isn’t staying at the hotel a fee but for this hotel to charge paying guests a fee to park their cars is ludicrous.

The room is lovely and the view was spectacular. The hotel is an easy walk to all attractions.

However we are currently ending our evening sitting at the hotel bar. The waitstaff is friendly but it seems that either off duty staff or regular locals hang out here and add a large amount of noise. We ordered the veggie stir fry and au gratin potatoes and after waiting 35 minutes for our food the potatoes came out raw and cold in the center. The staff was apologetic and offered to expedite an order of Mac and cheese which we are currently enjoying. Hopefully tomorrow things get better.

Response from scott s, General Manager at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Niagara Falls New York
Responded Nov 6, 2017
Dear. Ms. Fraser Thank you for letting us know about your stay while you were still in the hotel and the problems you had with the veggie stir fry. I apologize that it did not come out as quickly as liked and the thicker potatoes, undercooked. I have shared your comments with our chef and am glad you notified the manager who took care of making you something else. As for a parking charge, we do not include it in everyone's rate as not everyone that stays here, drives to the hotel. Parking in the city is a standard charge ranging from $10-$20.00. I do see that after you complained, the manager waived the fee for your other 2 nights. If there is anything else we can assist with while you are still here, please do not hesitate to reach out to our managers on duty. Cordially, Scott S GM

The thing which really sticks out is the total incompetence of the people behind the counter:

1) Each person says something different.
2) None of them take responsibility
3) They change their process all the time confusing both guests and their own staff
4) They will not do what they tell you they will do. You will need to go back and push repeatedly to get things done.

The front office staff is definitely racist. The lady who was on the left side of the check-in counter on 6/25/2017 - for sure. Note to the lots of Indian families who visit this hotel - keep this in mind - you will get lower service, and worse rooms even though the value of your dollars is the same as the value of the dollars from other people.

The African american staff at the restaurant are really nice, very friendly. This is how hotel staff should be. I would fire the front office staff and keep people like these, who respect their jobs, and are good at it.

The room itself was great - furnishings, etc. Pretty good. This place has a lot of potential if Hilton fires the incompetent front-office staff. If they have no idea about how to run the hotel, give that job to good hard working people who will respect the job instead of taking it for granted and screwing around with the guests.

The A/C in our room could not cool it well. It was very loud, and worked very badly. A total failure. It is like a $5 A/C in a $100K room. Why would you do that? Did you give us the bad room which needed an A/C which required maintenance because we were Indians?

I have been to really bad hotels. This is a great hotel which is screwed over because of the staff and maintenance issues. #SAD

Dear Jason 1923, Thank you for taking time to share your comments with us after your recent stay here in Niagara. Please accept our apologies for the treatment you experienced by our front desk staff and the Front Office Manager, Caroline. Please be assured that there was no malice in any of her actions as we have a varied staff working at our hotel with a largely Asian clientele due to our border location at the Falls. I will definitely investigate further to see where the misunderstandings may have occurred. Again my apologies. Cordially, Scott Swagler GM

We enjoyed our stay here while visiting Niagara Falls. We parked our car and walked everywhere all but one time. We drove to the outlets one evening but otherwise left our car parked. I would think this is the nicest hotel in the river front. We saw many others but none looked as nice. The rooms were good size and we had a river view king room. I found that waiting till the day before we arrived to book saved us A LOT of money. Just a few days before our arrival the rooms were anywhere from 40-50 dollars more per night. The day before arriving I booked our room and got a better room then I expected from waiting till the last minute. It can be a pricey hotel and I saw this with the varying prices a month before our stay. I think if you don’t mind waiting till the last minute you definitely get a better deal. The restaurant is a bit high but fairly good. We only had dinner there one evening. They do have free coffee in the lobby each morning.
