We were in the adult only section a small withdrawn area with a pool, restaurant and bar and convenient checkin
The room was modern decor, large bathroom with walkin shower for 2, jacuzi bath and separate tiolet.
two double beds, next time will will have to get a king bed. But very comfortable. The air conditioner was quiet and the temperature digitally controlled. Second of two floors, large deep balcony with two lawn recliner chairs. overlooking the pool and at a distance the beach.
The food was arranged for us by the butler, we eat well, lobster and shrimp, good red wine merlot or shiraz from chile

The beach was far away if you have mobility problems, but you can catch a ride. We loved the walk. there were very few rocks so we didnt need our water shoes and there was not much to look at under water so we didn't use the snorkle but the water was a safe depth for both swimmers and children. and lots of sun and sand.
We took the trip to Holguin and we are glad. There is no spa there so we went to the next resort, in walking distance and paid for a couples massage there. wonderful. Thank you to Junior and Lorita and staff for celebrating my birthday

The hotel is very spread out and large . Easy to get around though. One thing is the supply chain is affecting the amenities at this hotel, no toilet paper in women's public washrooms and were not not cleaned very well. Also often runout of alcohol and mixes at various times. The rooms were nice and spacious and do recommend an ocean view adds a nice touch. However no coffee maker or stocked mini bar not sure if that's a Covid or supply chain thing. The beaches were great one small one and another larger one a 5-10 minute walk away. Occupancy was around 30% while we were there so had no issues getting beach or pool chairs even with dreaded towels left on seats to reserve them. I wish they could figure out how to stop this because frankly once this hotel gets closer to full occupancy it will be a problem. With the caveat that we don't come to Cuba for food the food was ok to good , always found something to eat but the variety was lacking. No pasta at all while we were there. A shout out to Lia, Juliette and Gladys at the buffet restaurant their big smiles and welcoming attitudes were great ! The shows were just OK, the aquatic one was the best. The Japanese a la carte was definitely the best one to go to the others were average with a very poor rating given to the gourmet restaurant due to the terrible service we had. Resort is in need of some improvements but overall a good place to stay.

We have been to Cuba at least 10 times. I know usually what to expect when there and we are by no means hard to please.
This was one of our worst stays in Cuba we had.
3 out of 4 of us had stomach cramps and were sick (has only happened to me once before in Cuba)
The resort is clean and very nice. We stayed in the 25 block. Our shower leaked all over the floor everytime one of us showered. The halls and the resort the ceilings leaked when it rained. You can see the cracks where it is dripping (keep in mind this place is a year old) there was no juice anywhere to be found.
The snack bar had no hot dogs or pizza for the first 3 days we were there. (Regretted ordering the pizza we did get one day) there were no french fries the entire week.
There was the same thing every night in the buffet one night there was no bread which sandwiches was about the only thing we could have ate.
The pool and the splash pad was great. Also the bartenders at the pool bar made our stay bearable.
If you have a family of 4 i recommend finding out what room you will be getting in advance. We had to share 2 twin beds with our children. We asked for a cot from the reception the first day but they looked at us like we were crazy. If you have young enough kids to be in a crib you would be fine. Or get the room with the king size bed and the sofa bed. The rooms are clean and modern just no extra beds are available.
I would not recommend this resort.

I will try to make this short for everyone to read through.
Resort Property is nice. Grounds well Kept. The pool, room are nice, staff friendly. Beach is also fantastic with the lagoon allowing you to walk in the water for long distances. The coffee shop was a nice touch and one of the places we frequented the most.
PROBLEM was the food. The lack of variety is a concern. The made Pizza with ketchup sauce. At one point the pizza turned to toasted bread with ketchup and cheese ! If you want meat good luck - waiting in a long lineup to get any grilled meat. You end up settling for chic peas with tomato sauce or in our case cold cuts and cheese for most of your meals. They had no buffet trays with chicken, fries, potatoes or beef etc.
And the quality of the food (yes even for Cuba which i have been to over 10 times) is very poor. I would end up eating breakfast because you can have eggs and not eating the rest of the day in most cases.
We went to book out a la carte restaurants on DAY 1 and they told us they were completely booked for our entire stay. You believe that? We were not able to go to ONE a la carte. They told us to complain to management or wait outside an a la carte restaurant and wait for someone to cancel. This is crazy for an Iberostar hotel.
So if you can deal with very very poor food choices and want a place with a great beach, modern rooms this is for you. However, for me at this price point the expectation has to be higher and Iberostar has alot of work to do.

Our family of four (2 kids aged 10 & 13) stayed here for one week, check in was easy and we were welcomed with a cold drink and were escorted on a golf cart to our room which was ready. We stayed in a family room which was 2 rooms with an adjoining door. Kids room mirrored ours except we had a king bed and they had 2 dbl beds. A/C worked well, we had enough towels, rooms were spacious.
The only disappointment with the rooms was our “fully stocked” mini fridge only had ONE bottle of water, no beer or soda or juice all week we were only replenished with one bottle of water. I asked other guests and it was the same for them. Pool is large and clean, beach is small with rough sand, not a typical long stretch of beach as this resort is in a bay. Go over the bridge to other public beach it is much nicer.
Drinks were ok.. not much selection at pool bar. No blender to blend drinks, snack bar was limited, same menu items everyday, it is sit down style were they bring it to you at minimal quantities. Buffet was repetitive but you manage to fond something to eat, breakfast was the best meal. Staff are friendly, they do try their best with what they have. The hotel would run out of drinks for the kids like coke or fanta the week we were there.
All the common washrooms don’t have paper towel and the hand dryers don't work! You think during covid they would encourage the guest to wash their hands. They sometimes didn't have toilet paper in ANY of the washrooms.. I searched!! So I had to go to the buffet and grab napkins off the table to give to my daughter.
Entertainment was decent.. different shows every night.. but theatre empty most nights. They might do better if they just had performers sing or play music in the Lobby as most people congregated there after dinner for drinks/coffee.
We did go off resort on the Catamaran tour to Island Paradise. Highly Recommend!! Mario was a great guide!

I've travelled to many places, especially in Cuba, but this is definitely a place I'd return to. This is the one place that nothing went wrong. The only issue I had was with the sand fleas. Next time I'll bring products from home to be better prepared.
We were 11 people and we didn't have any problems finding tables at the buffet at any meals and at the a la carte. We went for 9 days and were able to do all 4 a la carte restaurants. The best in my opinion was the Japonese but I arrange to have a private meal by the beach for $40 US pp and it was a FABULOUS meal that trumped all others. It was a last minute request and in one day they created a magical moment for us. Accomodations were great. We were initially on the 2nd floor but had requested the ground floor rooms upon our initial booking. We moved to the ground floor when the room became available 2 days in. Rooms on ground floor always had a dampness smell to them but I preferred the convenience of being on the main floor because my group had health and mobility issues and I wanted us all to be together and they made it work. Lots of space on the beach, around the pool, during the shows, at the bars and in the lobby. Resort was pretty empty so we totally lucked out.

My family and I, which includes an 8 and 5 year old along with the grand parents, just returned from the resort.
Here is my honest opinion of our stay.
I am comparing it to 2 recent stays in Cuba, Grand Memories Varadero and Pullman Cayo Coco.
Hotel and Grounds: very nice property. Kept very clean and rooms are very spacious and nice.
Beach: there are 2 beaches. The smaller one is excellent for the kids. It’s very shallow, but a bit small for the guests.
The bigger one is few min away. You can either walk there or they can drive you if you wish. It’s very nice, but I find the part that belongs to the resort also a bit too small. The bathroom is dirty, the sandwiches are brought around noon, and the “bar” opens up around 10.
Food: I have to say comparing it to the resorts above, my family and I were disappointed. Buffet definitely lacks variety. I am not saying you will go hungry, but there is not much choices. Also big disappointment was that there was no “fresh” pasta. There was nobody making it for you. Instead it was pre-made and left under the “heater”. Sometimes it was either cold, or dried out. There wasn’t any packaged yogourt either which we found very refreshing at other resorts,
The “snack bar” close to the beach didn’t have pizza and hotdogs were hit and miss. They do have hamburgers and grilled cheese sandwiches which were okay.
There is also a small cabana next to the small beach that serves small sandwiches and soft ice cream. That was very convenient, nice and the kids loved it.
A la carte restaurants.... biggest disappointment because there were totally “booked”. We got there on Monday and when I tried to reserve ANY restaurant, they told me all of them were booked and to come back on a Saturday! So if you get there on Monday and your stay is for a week, good luck.
But when we would pass by any of them during the night, they were half empty.
For those of you who love lobster, get them, they are worth it! They go for 20CUC each.
Money exchange and tipping: I highly suggest you bring USA one dollar bills and use that for tips. If you bring Canadian or any other, they will change them for you at the lobby, but usually they will give you larger bills. They don’t have enough 1cuc to change them for you.
Overall, it’s a nice property but I’m not sure we would come back

I am still here. Arrived only 2 days ago and I am traumatized from my experience here. Constant blackouts and now I on my second night with no running water to shower or flush the toilets. There is lack of food here. To get clean water they filled green large garbage bins and left it at the base of every building for guests to fill with bucket. (Buckets we were not provided with so many people used the garbage bins in their room. I have ants all over my room. My children were served sour spoiled milk. Sunwing has left all guests stranded. There is no service here so to get a drink you must get it yourself and drink it immediately because you cannot leave the immediate area with your glass. The grounds are not well kept everything is dry and dying. Beach is closed at 5pm and the attendant will scream at you if you touch any beach chairs by 4:30pm. Towel exchange is closed at 4pm. Most bars close at 4pm. Hotel advertises room service. There is none. Snack bar has no menu and doesn’t have much available. They will tell you they run out of most items. This is a nightmare and I would like to leave this horrid place. My children are suffering.

First time to Iberostar Selection in Holguin. We chose it because it was very new and we love the beach there. Having been to Holguin before, we knew what to expect. Although not as lush because if it's new beginnings, there were no surprises. The staff were all very friendly as is always the case in Cuba. Rooms were totally clean and fresh. The food was typical of Cuba, better than expected especially considering all the shortages they are experiencing. Bring a snorkel and mask if you're into it. Good reef offshore with lots of fish. Extra toilet paper if you go to the far beach (which was nicer in my opinion). Lots of Canadian bills (you don't need to bring (m)any loonies or toonies for tipping). Maybe a FEW for arrival. You will constantly be asked to change their coins to bills since they can't exchange them in Cuba.
It was breezy there everyday for us so LUCKILY we didn't need ANY bug spray👍🤞. We did a lot of walking because the resort is very spread out, but there are shuttles that can give you a ride. We walked most of the time.
Departure tip. There's a courtesy room across from the main lobby you can use to shower in case you have a late departure and also a storage area for your bags beside it.
Other than some drink shortages (sometimes no mint, or tonic water or other minor things that eventually showed up) liquids were plentiful. BEWARE though that the tap water is safe but has a funky earthy taste. Al la Carte water was totally fine, but bring a Brita mug if you get their tap water in the main buffet or snack bar.
To the staff, special mention to mis amigos(as), Vivian in the Gourmet A la Carte, Yamina (mi "esposa") for resetting my internet everyday, Yunior ("hijo de Messi") at the lobby bar for his "Cafe Especial", and especialmente mi amigo Ernesto at the gym.
Overall a great time and we hope to return again soon ❤️!

No there is not but I was getting coffee anytime at the lobby 4 minute walk away.
If you need to charge your phone they have outlets in the room.
Outlets are also fine with the charger you bring to charge the phone .
