WELCOME TO FARADAY

If you love winning, socialising, and having fun then Faraday is the hall for you.

Faraday is the best hall in Loughborough, situated in the heart of the student village surrounded by everything you could possibly need. It’s conveniently close to the library, both gyms, and is only a 2-minute walk from the Purple Onion (student shop) and 10 minutes from the Student Union. It is an unbelievably convenient hall… everyone who lives here loves it and everyone who doesn’t wish they did!

It houses the perfect mix of freshers and returners in a social and welcoming environment as well as being immensely competitive and full of hall spirit, all traits that epitomises a “Faradonian”. As you become part of Faraday, you become part of the Faraday Family that will be with you for life, providing you with memories that you can treasure forever.

Faraday is a catered hall that allows everyone to be able to socialise, which creates an inclusive atmosphere and a close-knit community amongst hall members. It is also perfect for independence and being away from home for potentially the first time, as you are catered for 5 days a week (3 meals a day) with the freedom to cook for yourselves at weekends. Kitchens are provided in each block to cook.

We also have a 21 member strong committee that aims to make your experience incredible. They work extremely hard throughout the year organising lots of events for everyone to get involved with. There is a committee member representing each section, including Rag (charity fundraising) and action (community volunteering), and

they work hard to arrange legendary common room socials, charity events, sporting events, and more… Massive highlights include our annual winter and summer balls, a Faraday traditional event being Grace Dieu and a summer favourite, FaraDAY… to name a few.

We excel in sports, so in IMS we completely and utterly dominate. We have won IMS for 11 years and always have an amazing time participating. No matter the score we always have a crowd supporting on the sidelines with music blaring in the breaks signs waving and dominating cheers, sometimes some skill is shown too!!

In Faraday you don’t need to be a sporting god or avid gym-goer, just be ready to bring the passion, have a good time and give it your all. Having a good time, solid teamwork, and passion for Faraday is what ultimately makes us the best and helps us strive for success.

To take part in freshers and other hall events throughout the year (sports fixtures, charity events, volunteering opportunities and more!), you must pay your subs before the year begins which includes entry to and subsidises this year’s events. It’s an investment but the best way you make sure you really get the fun out of the hall!

What are Hall Subs? 
Hall Subs are a membership fee that goes towards arranging events and activities within your Hall of Residence for the whole (or part of a*) year.

There are a number of different Hall Sub Packages including: 
First Year Hall Subs, Returners' Hall Subs, Affiliate Hall Subs, and Single Semester Subs.
