I was here for a bachelorette party. We wanted something in the Lac du Bonnet area. The hotel is pretty dated, but we had a good time! I found it pricey, myself, but I was able to get a kitchen suite, which was great for the bachelorette party, plus it was as it`s name, and I had a balcony with a wonderful lake view! Only about half of the hotel`s rooms have this though. And my room was above the bar patio, so a bit noisy at night, but that was okay with me.
What I thought was over and above though, was that the staff went out of their way, and decorated our table in the restaurant for our dinner, and had bachelorette decor, napkins, etc. That was so incredibly nice of them, and really impressed us! Very much above and beyond, which made the trip!

Rooms were dated. Heat was good since it was winter when I was there. Had an issue with an overflowing toilet. Shortly after I let the management know about it someone was up to fix it. Basic cable on a 32 inch flat screen TV in included. Office is closed in Sundays until noon. This is the sister hotel to Casey's two blocks away. Don't expect Best Western like accommodation, won't get it here. If you need a place to crash, shower, then wake up and leave this is the place for you.

This was on out of the way stay on our trip back to Ontario from Alberta. I would call this a very out of date establishment. We had a room over the bar and I was told it got a little noisy at night. For the price, it was OK. The view standing on the balcony was good, but sitting the railing blocked any view. It looks like they had started to repaint the place but never finished. The Chinese restaurant next store was also OK. If you are really hungry
go for it. We had problems with the TV that required a staff member to come and undo all of the changes made by the previous renter. Street parking was free but with the pub, a little problematic. The kids enjoyed the well maintained beach. If we were not pressed to find a place we might have chosen some other place but it just added to the overall elements of the trip.

Attended in January. I did not believe the rooms to be very clean. Socks were dirty after walking on carpet in the room. The bathrooms were quite dated. The TV only worked on one channel and that was quite snowy at best. We have traveled to small town hotels and they don't need to be fancy, just clean. I would have to say this hotel was not clean. The cost was very reasonable but we should have paid more to stay elsewhere.

Look at the rest of my reviews. I am usually pretty positive. I'm sorry to say I couldn't be positive about this stay.

My husband and I booked a room at the Lakeview after seeing their website. It should have been a red flag that there weren't any pictures on their own website. Don't be deceived by the picture above - this is NOT what a standard room at the Lakeview looks like. What is a room like there? Old, thick, musty carpet. A dilapidated couch with several questionable stains. The air conditioner didn't work and the lock on the door was broken. The bed had a huge dip in the middle and I did not want to touch it for fear of bugs or leftover body fluids. There wasn't a phone in the room. Typically, everyone has cell phones these days, but the combination of the broken lock and the missing phone made us feel very unsafe. The bathroom was dated but I can live with dated. What I can't live with is a hotel room that is unsafe, smelly and disgusting. It literally looked like one of those cheap, nasty hotels you see in movies or crime shows. My husband and I walked in, took one look at the place, and walked out. I will say that the front desk staff is very polite - they gave us a refund right away, no questions asked, and the young lady there looked very embarrassed when we described the state of the room. Honestly though - do these people think their hotel is not disgusting or do they just not care? I will NEVER stay there.

If your in or near Lac Du Bonnet you have to go for a Steak! Cooked to perfection with all the trimmings. Friendly atmosphere, and great service. So good it will keep you coming back every time. I had the Valentines Special and my meal was very good. Thank you making this a special day.

Terrible...unclean, gross, smelly. I wouldn't ever stay here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone. Honestly, I don't understand how someone can run a business like this. First room we were given had reddish brown stains on the sheets. Front desk was very accommodating to give us another room, but it wasn't much better. The futon in the room looked like it had been taken from the trash,, and the carpet was smelly and badly stained. There was a huge fight in the centre courtyard area that seemed to spill out from the bar and it went on forever before someone called the cops. Had to move a dresser to get something that dropped behind there, and you don't even want to know what it looked like behind there. The sunflower seeds along the baseboards were a nice touch too. Stay away from this place unless you have no standards.

While the view of the lake is wonderful truly breath taking, our overnight stay wasn’t ideal. Saying this place is run down is an understatement. While seemingly clean (bonus) everything is just not well taken care of. The drapes, sheets and blankets all had holes in them. We had a full size fridge in our room which in most cases would be a pro, there weren’t enough sockets in the room so we had to choose between the fridge or having moving air by way of the AC. Additionally, Our bathroom door didn’t properly close and when we got there it was really warm in our room. I went down to the desk (as there are no phones in the rooms..) to ask about how to sort it out as the heater was running warm enough to burn people - there was no one around. I waited for over 5 minutes and no one returned to the desk. There was no bell to ring and no way to get a hold of someone working.

Price point is decent but won’t be returning as it wasn’t worth what we paid.
