My wife and I visited Lac Du Bonnet beach last week. The sand was nice to relax on and the water was good for swimming. What we found is that this beach is more for kids and family, which is fine but wasn’t quite what we were looking for.

The beach is small but nice and clean, it wasn’t too busy. I didn’t go in the water but my friends daughter did and she enjoyed herself. They have a small playground for young kids. The washrooms were kept very clean.

Lac du Bonnet is located 115 kilometres N.E.of Winnipeg. It takes about 1 hour 20 minute drive from Winnipeg. This quiet little town is facing the south shore of the Winnipeg River. When in town turn east on Third Street, go straight and you will see a long dock, nice sandy beach and a small play area; this is Lac du Bonnet Beach. On a sunny mid October day, the beach was calm and serene. Only one person sat there to enjoy the stillness. I guess in summer hot season the beach will be filled with locals. We stayed there for a little while and enjoyed the refreshing view.
Happy Travelling!
