I think as of recently chicken chef has been getting better and depending on what staff is working if there not Grumpy and you get bad service at the bar other than that it's a really nice place to eat.
Also have the best poutine in town.

Always love Chicken Chef! We were bummed to have missed breakfast by 14 minutes when we were there, and sadly, they had put everything away, so they couldn`t make breakfast for us. It would have been nice for them to offer all day breakfast, like some other restaurants do. Instead we ordered lunch, and everything was very good. I had the quesadilla, and they allow you to customize it to your tastes.

I had a 3 piece chicken dinner for lunch . The chicken and accompaniments were tasty and well prepared. The service was good and the food was served quickly. What more can you ask.
Be back on the next visit to Manitoba.

I was there at 630 PM
I asked for white meat on a couple of dinners and said they where to busy to accomdate and suggested i go elsewhere. They charge a premium for menu changes and i am good with that
I don't get enough government grants to turn my customers away. I support this business both now and the slow season. They clearly don't need the business

Tried there chicken again. It was re heated chicken. The bones in some of the wings and legs were broken in many places and black looking. Won’t be going back there again.

Stopped in for Lunch while out for a drive. The food was very good. Chicken was not greasy. Staff were very friendly.

Went into lac du bonnet for the afternoon to check out as we rented a cabin close by in Cape Coppermine.
We went for a late lunch but missed the daily $5:00 lunch special which is on until 2:00pm.
We had the chicken snack pack, the chicken was very tasty and you get a lot of fries. The food came out so fast and the service was great. Prices are a little pricey but I find chicken places are quite pricey anyways.

Normally Chicken Chef has the best chicken going, but as each location is independently owned and operated, it comes down to the owner as to the quality of the meal you will receive.
I've stopped here twice and each time was sorely disappointed. The chicken was not tasty (I think it was cooked in grease that was well past its due date for a change) and far too greasy.
A shame that the Chicken Chef head office does not inspect their franchise owners on a regular basis. This location is not doing the Chicken Chef name any favours with the poor quality of food they are serving the customer.

I'm so happy Chicken Chef now has a patio! I enjoyed it many times this past summer. Food and drink remain good and the service out on the patio was actually better than I expected! Way to go C.C.!

I get to the area 3 -4 times a year and alternated between chicken chef and drifters. For years I ordered the ribs advertised on the outside wall knowing they didn't have them. This time the sign was painted over so I was thinking improvement. I could not have been more wrong. I asked if I could get only white meat on the two piece snack. She said she could not guarantee it. I told I would need more time to find something else on the menu as I would not eat dark meat. She yelled to the back asking if I could have white meat only which I could. When she brought the meal she hurriedly put down the two plates and rushed off leaving my empty cup of coffee. We did not see her again and had to go to the till to pay. We will never go back.

We apologize for the confusion with the ribs, while that particular item has not been offered or advertised on our menus at the Lac du Bonnet location for a number of years, we have recently updated our outdoor signage to hopefully prevent any further confusion.
We strive to accommodate the meal requests of all customers, unfortunately, we are occasionally unable to guarantee customers with their selective pieces of chicken. We appreciate your concern, and will do our best to remedy similar situations in the future.

The food is plentiful, and hot. Service at times is spotty, but overall the servers are very polite and nice. One of the better fried chicken recipes, not too salty

ordered two medium pizzas and some fried chicken. the pizzas were ok. the chicken looked overcooked and as if it had been under a heat lamp for a long time. or perhaps their frier oil was very old and eeded to be changed. out pick up order did not contain plates, cutlery or napkins even though we originally asked for delivery to the hotel and said we were from out of town.
