The Shelborne South Beach was a great location minus the construction site nearby. At first we were given a room with a trash view of literal trashcans, however the front desk was very helpful and accommodating to fix it and switched us to a room with a beautiful city sunset and half beach view. The food was decent but pricey, also don’t ask for the lemonade (sooo sour). I will say the staff such as housecleaning, the front desk, food service, and the beach boys especially were outstanding. They were very friendly and helpful with whatever you needed to feel at home and also hard working! Veral helped us with our beach set up multiple days and was super kind. The front desk even sent water to our room at 1 am when we were thirsty! Overall the Shelborne provided a great vacation location.

Stayed here for 3 nights for a girls trip. The location is great, walking distance to main attractions of south beach but yet far enough away from all the craziness. The lobby is beautiful. The front desk staff very attentive, friendly and quick. There was never a long line to speak to someone at the front desk. There are 2 elevators, they are quick but since there are 18 floors and a lot of guests coming on/off sometimes you have to wait a couple minutes for it. However, never had to wait too long during our stay. The king size partial ocean view is a big room but most of the view is of a closed down hotel. You have to walk up to the window if you want to see part of the ocean. The bed is very comfortable. The carpet did have some stains around the garbage can. There was no full length mirror in the closet because it looked like the original closet doors that had the mirror were replaced. The bathroom is spacious with lots of towels. The main shower head water pressure is weak so I used the extended shower handle which had very good water pressure. Towels and garbage was replaced during my stay when I didn’t put the “do not disturb” sign on the door. The breakfast at the restaurant dowsntairs is delicious and reasonably priced. The drinks are delicious but could use more alcohol for the price you pay. Pool chairs start filling up around 9am. The beach staff is very friendly and quick with drinks and help. The pool closes at sunset.
The hotel grounds are beautiful. For the price I paid I would definitely stay here again.

Delisa, Kemurka, and Tiffany B. at the front desk are absolute gems!! They went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable stay at the Shelborne. Other travelers complained about the rooms not being in good condition, but ours was perfectly clean. My only request would be providing additional chairs and trash cans in the room (there is only one of each).

This property which is located on the beach side of Collins Avenue could be nice if it was totally renovated. Allegedly remodeled around 7 years ago, whatever was done, was not enough and/or did not last. The property is very tired. In virtually every respect it deserves failing grades. We had reserved an ocean view room but on check in were told that none were available so spent the first 24 hours or so in a drab suite overlooking a construction site. We met another couple who had the same experience. The pool is nice but is much too small for the number of guests and their beach setup insists on lining people up in uncomfortably close rows. They provided a bottle of water on the first day but never after. There is no turn down service, usually no wash clothes, no toiletries replacement. Luckily I brought a bar of soap from home. This is miles away from a luxury hotel. The photos and video on the website are masterworks of propaganda. The hotel in actuality bears little resemblance to the staged, perhaps long ago, website images.

Beautiful location and the weather is perfect this time a year if you're looking to leave the snow and grey skies behind! The beach staff was especially noteworthy. We were greeted by Lens Abel who went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed from food/drink to even readjusting the umbrellas as the day went on. Food was delicious at each location throughout the hotel though the drinks were just a bit on the high side. But that's to be expected in a place as exclusive as this one feels! My wife and I did have trouble contacting the front desk the few times we tried calling, but other than that this was a fantastic getaway from the daily grind!

I booked the Shelborne on Collings ave in Miami for my birthday stay and I am very disappointed they are operating on a very short staff and amenities but charging full fees. The rooms are not that clean they are quite stuffy. I paid for the room in full upon booking however there was a $700.00 hold on my credit card with a $43.00 per day charge for a resort fee that includes two towels and two chairs the umbrella is $22.00 extra per day; we were escorted to a seating area on the beach and the furniture was not sanitized before or after use. No coffee makers or microwaves in the rooms, cleaning is only every three days but house keeping knocks daily to see if anything was needed and with the little being covered under “cleaning” I opted to just get fresh towels and I will do the rest; there was change on the floor near the bed from a previous guest that is still there as I write my review. The room floors are filthy make sure you keep something on your feet. The bathroom is nice could use a good cleaning and the shower is a disaster waiting to happen the shower floors are very slippery and the door swings two ways with nothing to hold on to if you lose your balance you will be on a second trip to the hospital that is. Because it is a beach resort the elevators should be wiped every time the door opens, I went out to breakfast and when I came back and caught the elevator the Butt print of someone wearing swim wear exiting the elevator was still on the wall and yes I took a photo. The outside setting is nice but they do not wipe it down enough. The lobby is nice the hotel staff is friendly the outside view is beautiful, it could be a great place to stay in better times because it’s right on the strip and with no food or buffet at the hotel everything is in walking distance. I know times are tight but comping a beach umbrella and waiving the resort fees would have been a nice perk for a ghost stay.

This hotel is situated right in Collins Avenue, and next to lots of Restaurants, other Hotel (Delano) and shopping area (Lincoln Road). Classic room is fine, bed was comfortable, Breakfast wa excellent. Object to paying Resort fees, since we did not use the swimming pool or beach facilities, but they say it also includes the wifi and tea an coffee, which they had hidden away in a cupboard and only found it on checking out, however the staff were helpful, and you cannot beat the location

I never write reviews... but I’ve decided to write one for the Shelborne because everyone and everything was next level. Admittedly, this review is a few weeks late. My family and I stayed over the Christmas holiday at the end of 2020.

First off the Shelborne is spectacular. It is clean, beautiful, and very attractive to the eye. There is just something about traveling to Miami and staying in an Art Deco Boutique Hotel that quenches the heart’s desire for more than just the standard hotel experience. Modern sophistication and vintage-chic describe this property perfectly.

The location is where YOU WANT TO BE if you’re going to stay in SoBe. The Shelborne is central to everything with fine dining and nightlife all around. The beautiful pool and Jacuzzi were frequent destinations that we thoroughly enjoyed. The thoughtfully designed and manicured grounds invite one to sit, tan, and enjoy life the way it was meant to be enjoyed. The Shelborne is on the ocean facing side of Collins Avenue which is important because walking off the hotel grounds leads right to the beautiful beach and the perpetual beach perfection experience that is SoBe.

We enjoyed the onsite restaurants to the fullest. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, you name it we enjoyed it and loved it. We had their restaurant’s Christmas dinner menu and my wife is still raving about the quality of the meal. We both agree the meal quality exceeded a wonderful and much more expensive dinner we had at STK South Beach a few days prior. I went so far as to send my compliments to the chef and also learned that the chef is a recent addition to the Shelborne and obviously a culinary master.

The most important aspect of any hotel experience in my opinion is the hotel employees. Whether seen or unseen their efforts elevated the experience from great to perfect. It is truly because of the Shelborne’s employees that I write this review. Everyone, and I mean everyone I came in contact with was polite, sincere, and helpful. The employees frequently checked to make sure our meal was perfect, our drinks were refilled, and our wishes were being addressed.

We enjoyed the Shelborne so much that we have already booked a return trip and this time we’re bringing friends. Hope to see you there!

This hotel has so much potential: great location, nice pool area, lovely beach area, but service is really lacking. For this reason I cannot recommend this hotel and it is very expensive for what you get. It's not only that staff isn't particularly warm, they are clearly lacking training and I suspect there isn't enough staff for the amount of guests. For instance, there are only 1 or at best 2 people at the front desk - even in the day time - so you always have to queue. If you ring from the room, 8 times out of 10 noone answers. I asked for more shampoo since house keeping did not replenish supplies in the bathroom (we staid 5 nights!), it never came! Staff at the bar are rude. The pool area is lovely, but pool rules are not enforced by staff, meaning a party of people monopolised the jacuzzi spa for a whole afternoon. We also found the insulation between rooms really bad: even my husband who normally sleeps through anything found it annoying (a group in the room next door kept us up 2 nights in row). Apart from that the bed was comfortable, the location is good and the beach staff super nice and helpful. But not 4 star. Won't be returning.

Selected this hotel based on its beachfront location and rooms with balconies. It was reasonably priced and the pool area is great. When we arrived, the Sweet Liberty pop-up was happening. A fun time and great Happy Hour specials. We did not find the staff to be helpful or friendly at the Shelborne. From the front desk to the bar area, the majority of people we interacted with seemed uninterested in welcoming us. Bartenders were very rude (the female ones especially) and would not tell you a 20% service charge/gratuity was already added to their $17 drinks, thus trying to get you to tip in addition. That said, every drink I had was excellent. And the poolside food was good- try the fish tacos or coconut shrimp. We loved this central location within walking distance to everything, but definitely didn’t feel overly safe walking around much past dark. Our room was clean and adequate with a great view of the ocean. Only criticism was the bathroom, absolutely no space to put anything- no vanity, no hooks for towels or robes. It wouldn’t take much to add these for convenience as well as a fan in the bathroom and a full length mirror in the room. A/C and mini fridge both worked great and kept things cool. All staff and most guests wore masks in public places, which we appreciated. Overall, we enjoyed our escape from the cold northeast, but wish the staff were a little more enthusiastic about serving guests.

If memory serves correct... the basics are provided as part of your resort fee from the Shelbourne. Meaning Towel, Chair Umbrella. The Day Bed's are almost always extra. They range on season and day of the week and I think go for anywhere from 50-150 for the day.
