Central hotel in Barcelona Poblenou, located just minutes from the metro Llacuna located in Poblenou, in the heart of Barcelona 22arroba District, the most innovative part of the city where are engaged companies focused in R+D. The hotel is very close to the best beaches of Barcelona, a few minutes from the port of Barcelona and only a few minutes to the more touristic centre via the Metro stop Llacuna. Travelodge Barcelona Poblenou is a spectacular new building with 9 floors and 250 comfortable and spacious rooms with air conditioning and internet. In addition, the hotel has a 24 hours Bar-Cafe with seating for 112 diners, Free Unlimited Wi-fi in public areas, 2 meeting rooms with natural light, private underground parking for 78 vehicles, vending machines and luggage room. My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights in October 2022. We made a rookie mistake and booked the hotel before looking into Barcelona and things to do and then realised it is quite far away from most things and the main centre etc. We enjoy walking so thought it would be ok.
The travel lodge itself is very basic, no kettle or mini fridge in the room, no hair dryer and no safe and the showers are extremely small and the walls are paper thin.
We didn’t have the breakfast so can’t comment on that, we just used the hotel as a base for sleeping and showering so in the morning we would be up and out and get breakfast at nearby cafes.
The area of El Poblenou is lovely, although far out from the main centre there are loads of great cafes, bars, restaurants for tapas and supermarkets etc! The area really came alive on the weekend with locals and had a real spark!
It’s also very close to the beach as on our first afternoon we walked down to the beach and along the promenade all the way to the W hotel and back.
We mainly walked everywhere and got a few buses and taxi’s in the evenings.
We still had a great holiday and got to do everything in Barcelona we wanted to. If there had been a few more essentials in the room I would have given the hotel 4 out of 5. If you are looking for somewhere cheap and basic to stay it does the job.

On arrival the lobby was exactly as you would expect from the budget Travelodge brand. It was clean and welcoming, and the staff were very friendly and helpful and had us checked in in no time. We were off to a good start. So off we went to take the lift to our floor. The lifts were incredibly slow and during busy morning periods you had to wait ages one to arrive and just hope that it wasn't already full...which it was on several occasions.
The location of the hotel was excellent with a street full of bars and restaurant just round the corner. Can't fault the location.
The room...
The room was basic but again what you would expect from a Travelodge...perfectly adequate. However, the bathroom had a strong drains smell which was incredibly unpleasant. I sprayed deodorant before I went in to try and mask the smell. In addition, during the night there appeared to be a slight flooding around the base of the toilet. I'm not sure if something was leaking but this probably contributed toward the smell. The room was very hot so I opened the window at night but then the external noise would keep me awake. The worst sleep I've had in a hotel. The duvet and pillows were good, but the bed was incredibly hard thus adding to my bad night's sleep. There were no coffee making facilities but that may be standard for Travelodge.

We visited Barcelona for my daughters 18th birthday. Bad points: Beware, there is a local tax, which I was not made aware of, so that was a bit of a surprise. The hotel advertised free wifi, but this was only free in the lobby. Otherwise, it's payable daily it also advertised tea/coffee facilities, but I had to ask twice for this, and it wasn't restocked. There is a €10 deposit per electrical item. They allowed dogs in the hotel, and one kept us awake in the early morning barking . The good points are the hotel is really clean, the beds are very comfortable. It's in easy walking distance on the beach, shops and the metro. The metro is brilliant, so buy a 2 - 5 day pass to get around Barcelona. In all honesty, the Travelodge is great if you're on a budget, but next time, I'll pay that bit more for something a bit better

Disproportionately high prices for a hotel without removable showerheads and with blocked washbasins. It was a real pain even brushing teeth. The quality of the food at breakfast is really poor ! (Not to mention the variety too, nothing vegetarian or otherwise ...)

At arrival I lost my phone, the receptionist saw my face and immediately helped us. We tried to call my phone and a Spanish man picks up. I do not speak Spanish and handed my phone to the receptionist who started locating the person. After they located the person the general manager suggested to come with me to make sure I wouldn’t be ripped off. We got there they guy was friendly and gave me my phone back.

The stay at the hotel was very good, the cleanliness, the rooms and the customer service. The receptionists were very friendly, especially Cielo. She helped us with some problems we had and guided us around Barcelona, telling us which buses or trains we had to take, as well as the best restaurants they have in the area. Located in a good spot, walking distance to the beach, lots of restaurants and bars and 2 metro stations, there is a bus stop and a taxi rank outside. Quiet hotel with comfortable bed, staff were all really helpful and the breakfast was good.

Bad policies make you feel like a very cheap hostel. Deposit charged for ask for a hair dryer for example. Also had problems during check in and saw people having the same for the payment policy from the hotel that is a disaster.

All the staff members are very helpful especially David and Christian at the reception. David always went the extra mile such as asking his colleagues to allow me to take a tray with some camomile for my wife who was feeling bad and couldn't go down to take breakfast. We also had good restaurant recommendations from David. The hotel is well located close to a bus stop and metro station Lacuna L4. Close by too are some good local restaurants, cafeterias, and 24 hour supermarkets. Walking distance to the poblenou Rambla.Simple but neat & comfortable rooms.

Hello. Train from the airport you pay zone 1 to paseo de la Gracia them you change for the metro, urquinona to llacuna them is a short walk use google maps
No, this hotel doesn’t provide a mini fridge it’s rooms
Turn right out of the hotel and the first road you come to is a 'Ramblas' so it's a street full of shops, cafes, restaurants etc
