Post-cruise overnight stay. we chose this hotel as all others were super expensive on this date. We prepaid in person a few weeks earlier including early check in but upon arrival we were told to wait until 3pm, its was 9.30am.
We kept checking with the reception staff every hour or so as we saw several groups check in and be shown their rooms. After checking with a different staff member at 4.30 hours of waiting she said they had 2 rooms avail. Clearly the male didnt want anything to do with us and just left us waiting on their cafe area. The room was small and basic but clean. We had to ask for a kettle and coffee/tea and no soaps etc are provided. Bed was OK but nothing special. Probably wouldn't stay here again, we'd pay the extra and stay across the road at the Paxton

We stayed here in November 2014. Rooms are basic, but clean and enough space, exactly what you would expect from a Travelodge - no complaints at all. The hotel itself is fairly new so it looks good. Wifi available in the reception only for free.

This hotel is a little out of the centre of Barcelona, however the underground station is a 5 minute walk away and it only took 10 minutes or so to get into the central stations. We didn't walk into the centre, so I don't know how long this would take you. The underground is very regular, reliable and I felt safe on this even when we returned late at night.

If you come out of the hotel and turn right there is a street that has several restaurants on, we used this the first night as we didn't arrive until 8pm - there's a great little cafe on the corner, can't recall what it is called, but they did hot dogs / beer etc and it was very nice and very cheap by Barcelona's standards.

The beach is probably a 10 minute walk, we didn't use this as it was November but I was told that this is a nicer beach than that in the centre as it is quieter.

The tour bus does do a route by the hotel but as we found out this does not run in the Winter.

Overall I would certainly recommend this hotel.

You could be walking into a Travelodge in the UK, which I guess is the point, so if you know what they are like - and they are fine for what they are - you know what to expect (but minus the kettle etc).

Perfectly comfortable, clean but a bit impersonal. And if you expect a fridge in the summer heat of Spain, forget it.

However having booked 2 rooms online via my account on the UK Travelodge website we arrived to find one of the rooms inexplicably cancelled. And although there were rooms available to we required to pay the current walk-in price rather than the on line rate booked months previously. However having dug our heels in we did eventually get the 2nd room for the original rate.

Not a good experience and Travelodge need to sort their systems out.

Tip for the morning - ignore the Travelodge breakfast offering and go out of the hotel, turning right to the next junction (1 minute) and there is a coffee shop: excellent coffee and fresh juice, pastries and freshly baked breads with fillings (although latter we thought a bit pricey - and this compared with airside at Gatwick!)

My wife and I have recently returned from a 5 night stay in this hotel. We have nothing but good things to say. The staff are so very helpful. We visited the Nou Camp on our first day and a lady on reception even took the time to draw us a map, and advised us which metro stations to use. The hotel is situated 2 minutes from the Poblenou Ramblas, which has many great shops and cafe bars. We're planning on returning to Barcelona to watch FC Barcelona play in Novemeber, and will definitely be returning to the Travelodge. Thank you for a great break.
