Booked here for 9 nights as part of a business trip. Other reviews mostly fair, but here are some additional points. First, room sizes are really good, especially if you are here for more than a few nights. I stayed 2 weeks at the end of May at a sister AC, callled Irla...rooms were all very, very small and I did my upmost to stay out. The rooms here are a great size, as one would expect of a suites style hotel.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Be sure to smile and at least attempt a few phrases in Spanish or Catalan,,,,you will be amazed at the reaction this simple courtesy will bring. Did I encounter a grumpy person? Sure, but this was the exception and a very rare one at that.
The bed is very comfortable and I don't understand the complaint about the shower. Perhaps they had a room where the clamp was worn out. Mine was fine and it also was a deep soaker style tube..perfect for soaking the body after a full day of walking.
There is a little fridge and auto coffe maker in the standard suite. I asked for the refrigerator to be emptied so I could put in my own stufff. No sweat and they took care of things right away.
Did I see some mold style stains on the top of the shower area and bathroom entrance? Yes (room 603) but remember, this is an area that gets very humid in the summer. The hotel could do itself a favor by installing vent fans. In any event, that bathroom is spacious, with room for two, if needed, as well as including a bidet.
As a Marriot Lifetime Platinum member, there are only a few "perks" for staying. Free high speed wifi and about 50% discount for breakfast. The restaurant is always busy because options seems to be popular with both guests and visitors alike. My only gripe about breakfast was the fried eggs were never hot, however I would had the plate to the waiter and he'd nuke them, no problem. By the 3rd day, they knew me and would just take the plate from me while I was still at the buffet line, heat my eggs and bring them to the table, along with a bottle of sparkling water every morning...they made the effort to get to know me.
As for location it is in quite neighborhood. There are many nice restaurants in the area and you are about 15 mins, by foot, from a large El Corte Ingles, which has a big supermarket. If you walk for 5 mins, it's easy to catch several bus lines that can take you to the town center, gothic center, etc (about 30 mins). Is this "walk out the front door and be in the middle of the Gothic quarter" type of location? No, but I will take the trade off of a spacious room and easy public transport any day of the week. Besides, google maps makes moving around the city by bus / metro / tram super easy.
Folks, this is not a full 300 room Marrriot so let's stop writing reviews that complain about not being one. ACs are a great part of the Marriot brand, stylish, modern and with their own quirks. My only grump about this location is the fitness center is impractical to the point be useless...like they needed to put something in just to tick the fitness center on premises box.

We stayed in this hotel a few days before our cruise and it was a wonderful hotel. The rooms were very large and clean and the hotel location was great. We walked a few blocks and were able to get on the hop on hop off bus. This hotel is only about ½ mile to the Barcelona soccer stadium where we were able to go see a game. They also have an excellent breakfast buffet.

Unfortunately on our last night during our recent stay in Barcelona, my husband had his wallet stolen. We had to cancel our Marriott visa card, we lost our cash etc. After returning from the police department, Jordi offered to help. We had planned to pay our bill using our Marriott visa card. Jordi called Chase and my husband spoke with the fraud department and then handed the phone to Jordi again. After a brief conversation with the fraud department, our new account number was faxed to the hotel and our bill was paid using our account. Jordi was professional, calm and friendly. After the incident and several hours at the police station, it was great to have someone smile and help us work things out. We both were very relieved after Jordi handled the situation. Thanks to Jordi things didn't seem so bad anymore! We enjoyed our stay at the AC Marriott Victoria Suites in Barcelona. It's in a quiet neighborhood with easy subway access. The breakfast was very nice too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean and large.

We had reserved two rooms for our stay in June. We had requested an earlier check in since we were arriving from the United States. The woman at the desk told me my room wasn't ready yet and would not be ready for several hours. I said to her I requested an early check in. She looked at the computer and said yes you are correct. I was not happy with this encounter.
I was charged $48 dollars for a roll away bed. We were told that rooms are for 2 people. This was a suite room and only 2 people were permitted in the room which is insane.
Then when we checked out we were informed that we had done a points and pay for our stay. We would not have stayed here if we had to pay. We were charged $400 USD. When I returned home I called Marriott who said they would forward this to the hotel and it would be resolved. I received an email from the hotel stating that I had participated in this pay and points program and they would not refund my money.
There are no attractions near this hotel and I would never stay here again!

The check-in time is at 15:00 PM , as far as we can when we have a vacant room, we give them priority for the early arrivals. The check-out time is at 12:00PM , when the hotel is fully booked it is not possible to provide an early check-in. We always try our best to give our guests their room keys as soon as possible. I am happy to see that our front desk could give you at least the room keys of one room until the second room was prepared, so you could rest a little after your long travel. On the other hand, due to local fire regulations, the hotel only allows a maximum of three people in the Junior Suite regardless of the type of beds in the room. As you reserved 2 triple rooms, we were glad to add an extra bed in each room. The extra cost of the third occupancy, as the room rate, were detailed on the booking confirmation and also appeared during the booking progress. Referring the location of the hotel, the hotel is located on a residential and quite area. It is also well connected to the city’s historic center (4.5 km), which is easy to reach by bus, tram and metro. I am sorry to hear that the hotel location did not meet your expectations. Everything we do is aimed at providing each guest an excellent service and your feedback is extremely valuable. We will continue working to exceed our guest expectations. Pros- wonderful, kind and charming front desk staff willing. Hotel is located in a great and peaceful high end residential neighborhood walking distance to Camp Nou and very good restaurants and coffee shops at reasonable prices. Rooms are spacious.
Cons - the Santa Clara restaurant staff is below average especially the morning one which my family found rude. In the summer there are rooms that the A/C does not cool well because the rooms are very spacious. The front desk staff was very kind in acommodating us to a cooler room.
I would return to this hotel but would expect the hotel management to improve the A/C system and the service at the restaurant.
Cons - the Santa Clara restaurant staff is below average especially the morning one which my family found rude. In the summer there are rooms that the A/C does not cool well because the rooms are very spacious. The front desk staff was very kind in acommodating us to a cooler room.

Big rooms that are true suites, friendly efficient staff, very good breakfast (if included in your rate), 5 min. walk from Diagonal Av, Maria Cristobal Metro station, and branch of El Cortes Ingles dept store, a fine dining restaurant in the hotel plus several neighborhood restaurants a block or two away. All that for half the price of city center hotels. You can get to Las Ramblas etc for 10-15 Euro cab or 2.15Euro 10 min Metro ride. We were very pleased.

We are located in Pedralbes, only 5 minutes walking from Diagonal, next to the El Corte Inglés Department Store, and 10 minutes walking from Maria Cristina metro station; our location is perfect for those who want to feel the city, but staying in a quiet location. As you said, we have a fine restaurant in the hotel, but in the same building you can also find Neichel Restaurant, an internationally renowned and prestigious establishment, where you will find one of the most refined menus in all of Barcelona. It has earned a Michelin star, and it is the only Relais Gourmand - Relais Chateaux restaurant in the city. I recommend you to visit it in your next stay in our hotel. The room gets 5 out of 5 - spacious bathroom and sitting area, balcony and small area with Nespresso machine and fairly-priced minibar.
Location was great for the Nou Camp and it was really very straightforward to get the metro to the city centre.
The only thing to be aware of was the price of breakfast - over 20 Euros. May be OK for business people on expenses but not for a family. This is clearly a business hotel - almost eerily quiet at the weekend, but it was off-season.
Overall if City Centre location is not vital, definitely recommended.
Location was great for the Nou Camp and it was really very straightforward to get the metro to the city centre.

To be honest after reading some of the reviews I was concerned BUT we needed to stay in the area. The Princess Sofia was full so I booked a room here. I used one of the booking sites so I wasn't expecting a great experience.
The room was excellent. I requested a cot for an infant and it was waiting for us. The suite was large and well furnished. The staff were very very helpful at all times.
The one area where I felt could be addressed was the price of the food in the restaurant. Very pricy for what was delivered BUT the beer was ice cold. If going back to Barcelona this hotel will be my first port of call.

The front desk staff are very kind, friendly and delightful. We enjoyed our stay and they certainly made it memorable by upgrading us to a family room (we are SPG members eligible for upgrade). We had the family suite - it was very spacious and while we were only 4 - it could accomodate 5-6. The hotel is located in a residential area and conviently located to the metro, bus stop, hop and off stops. It's a bit away from the city center, but worked well for us to come back to a quiet place.
Regarding rooms:
We were on the first floor, but if you are a light sleeper - facing the street on the first floor will result in you hearing all the street chatter. For us it didnt matter as we came back to the room at around midnight and we tired. If you are a light sleeper be sure to take a higher level floor away from the parking on the street
Overall - awesome hotel, even more amazing front desk staff, great housekeeping. Will definitely return.
The hotel is extremely clean and rooms are spotless. The housekeeping folks do an amazing job. There is absolutely nothing that was stained in our room.
Only downside, they were no USB sockets in this hotel - be sure to bring your own adapter.
