The bathroom was designed by someone who apparently never took a shower. The shower nozzle is on a flexible hose, but – inexplicably -- the nozzle doesn’t fit into the nozzle-holder that is mounted to the wall. As a result, the shower nozzle has to be held in one hand throughout the shower. To make matters worse, there is no shower curtain, and there are substantial patches of black mould on the ceiling.

There are some strong positives. The staff were very patient with us and seemed to have a good attitude. I liked that we could choose between opening a balcony door or using the air conditioning. (Some rooms don't have a balcony.) We got a stylishly furnished one-bedroom suite at a very attractive rate in the high season, although this is offset by the hotel’s location that is 5 km from the city centre.

I suggest avoiding the pretentious, overpriced restaurant in the hotel. Instead, for an informal meal of pasta or pizza, try Bugui restaurant at 633 Ave Diagonal. For a small food store, go uphill two streets from the hotel to Passeig de Manuel Girona. However in general, there are few stores or restaurants in the immediate area. If you know where to look, the Maria Cristina metro (subway) station is nearby.

The hotel is in an area of upscale apartments, and the area feels safe at all hours. The hotel is hellish to find because it’s on a minor dead-end street and there are no signs whatsoever except a small sign at the entrance door. How about posting some signs?

Response from acvictoriasuites, Front Office Manager at AC Hotel by Marriott Victoria Suites

Dear guest, Thank you for having taken your time to provide us with your feedback about your stay with us. Referring your comments about the shower, we will be glad if you can provide us your room number in order to check the shower nozzle and holder. The bathrooms, and the rooms in general, are designed under the AC style. We will take note about your comments to translate it to the operations department. Talking about the signs, i agree with you but, unfortunately, in Barcelona it is forbidden to use signage to indicate the location of the hotels. I will pass on your comments to all our staff, these comments are very helpful to motivate them. Everything we do is aimed at providing you with an excellent hotel experience and your feedback is extremely valuable. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope to see you soon in our hotel, Best regards Andrea Garrido Front Desk Manager

We had an unexpected upgrade to a two-bedroom suite and spent our night in the lap of luxury. Huge master bedroom with an American King-size bed, large second bedroom with two twin beds, massive bathroom with a soaking tub, expansive living room with kitchenette, windows that open in each room, and a large covered balcony with bistro set. The rooms seem freshly renovated. Our kitchenette had a sink, stovetop, stocked ($$) mini-fridge, and Nespresso machine; however, we weren't fully able to take advantage of it since there were no utensils, pots/pans, dishes, etc. so I'm not sure if they hadn't supplied the rooms with them yet or if you needed to request them specifically or what.

The location is about halfway between the airport and downtown. The best part is that it's in a quiet neighborhood, so we had the best night of sleep of our whole trip here. The only drawback was that it took 20-30 minutes to get to the center of town by metro.

We would definitely stay here again!!

Pros: Hotel is clean and ultramodern, staff is friendly, pool looks nice (never went), full balcony.

Cons: Inconvenient location (it's pretty far from most of the attractions, minus camp nou), breakfast is not included if you use points.

Overall I wouldn't recommend to a tourist, unless you're on a budget.

Thank you for your comments about our property and staff; everything we do is aimed at providing you with an excellent experience and your feedback is extremely valuable. We are located in Pedralbes area, one of the best areas of Barcelona and only 5 minutes walking from the closest metro station (Maria Cristina - L3). Our location is perfect for those who want to feel the city but staying in a quiet location. We truly appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us so that we may continue to deliver exceptional service in the future. Sincerely, Cristina Garcia Amorós General Manager AC Victoria Suites

The room gets 5 out of 5 - spacious bathroom and sitting area, balcony and small area with Nespresso machine and fairly-priced minibar.
Location was great for the Nou Camp and it was really very straightforward to get the metro to the city centre.
The only thing to be aware of was the price of breakfast - over 20 Euros. May be OK for business people on expenses but not for a family. This is clearly a business hotel - almost eerily quiet at the weekend, but it was off-season.
Overall if City Centre location is not vital, definitely recommended.

My wife and I had a delightful stay at this Marriott property. The room consisted of a living room, a large bedroom with king-size bed, a spacious bath, a coffee and refreshment area and a wonderful enclosed balcony that ran the length of the suite (great place of storing luggage, enjoying a morning coffee and letting our clothes dry. The room was most comfortable and very clean throughout our stay. Service was friendly and helpful during our eight days here; they even helped us find a "lavanderia" to wash and dry our clothes. The restaurant Santa Clara was a very unexpected bonus for lunch or dinner...the food was far beyond a normal hotel menu and supported by an excellent wine list and a great service. It does get busy for lunch and dinner so reserve a table. Also enjoy some pinxtos and a cerveza in the wonderful outdoor terrace. Breakfast was ok but not anything special.

the room we stayed had balcony. you can take Metro to airport but taxi would be much more convenient and around 30 Euros, not too bad. As for the breakfast, the rate we purchased through Marriott Rewards website did include breakfast but it's not always included in all the room rates.
