Wyndham Magic Village Orlando/Kissimmee
Even with a few negatives, Magic Village Kissimmee deserves a 5 star rating for comfort of accommodations and welcoming and helpful staff!
Let’s get the negative out of the way first: The internet would sporadically stop working. The TV had a bad sound bar which made it difficult to watch together as a family in the main area. The $150 cleaning charge at the end of your stay and the $85 cleaning service during your stay may be unexpected. You can have packages sent there, but you will be charged $5 per package for them to accept your packages.
Tips: Check to be sure everything works when you get there so you can have maintenance come and fix them before they are needed. Rent a car if you don’t drive to Kissimmee because it is not walking distance to many places outside the resort. Be sure to bring your own laundry and dish washer detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, facial tissue, salt and pepper, napkins, and other items you may need like extra washcloths and towels. At the end of your stay, you will be charged a $150 cleaning fee, and they will inventory your unit and charge you for anything broken or lost. You should be out by 11 AM on your departure date or they may charge you for an extra day’s stay. Closely watch your kids outside because Florida has alligators and snakes.
The property is amazing: It is a secure, gated resort with free parking and internet, convenience, privacy, spacious units, close to Walt Disney World parks and shopping. Our unit had a balcony with 2 chaises overlooking the pond, parking right outside our front door, a full bathroom for each bedroom and a half bath for the common area, polite, responsive, helpful staff etc. The unit was very clean and fresh, but it is new so things are not yet worn out. The furniture looks nice, but it also seems cheap, so I think it could suffer from wear and tear as time goes by. The location is close to Disney World and you park your vehicle right outside your front door! The resort has a shuttle once a day to only one park, so use your own transportation if possible. Target, WalMart, CVS, Walgreens, many fast food restaurants, many gift and souvenir shops and other stores are all nearby for last minute needs. They have a well-supplied full kitchen with dishes, glassware, utensils, full-size appliances (oven and stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher) and pots and pans. Bring your own laundry detergent, dish detergent, and paper supplies if you will be staying for any length of time because they only provide trial packets for dishwashing and laundry. Our unit had 4 bedrooms (2 bedrooms with king beds and 2 bedrooms with 2 twin beds each) and each bedroom had its own good-sized bathroom. The upstairs master bedroom has a large balcony overlooking the pond and 2 chaises for relaxing. We had a few issues such as a plumbing issue and maintenance reset our modem once, and the maintenance was polite, helpful, and responded quickly. The décor was neutral, and the unit was very clean. We had a lake view with the master bedroom balcony overlooking the pond, and a front twin-bed bedroom balcony overlooking the parking area. We had a group of 8 including children, and we were very comfortable. An outside summer kitchen has a grill and a seating area with a table for eating outside by the pond. There is a gym, heated pool, and restaurant on site. You can get drinks and food from the restaurant out by the pool and our children met many others from other countries. We really enjoyed the international feel the other guests brought. They charge $85 each visit for cleaning services during your stay, but you can easily clean up after yourself and wash your own bed sheets, towels, etc. during your stay; a cleaning fee of $150 may be charged after you leave. Everyone in our group was impressed.
