First, the property itself is beautiful with a great location. Traffic on 192 tends to get backed up, but if you’re coming from the theme parks, you avoid most of it while getting “home”. Units were built in 2019 so they’re in good shape. Rooms were clean and appeared still very new. All had plenty of space and their own bathroom, which was great! We chose the 4 bedroom option with two queen rooms and two twin rooms. Combined with a great kitchen stocked with (some) cooking utensils/dishes/silverware and a nice living room and porch, It was plenty of space for 7 of us to stay comfortably for the week. We had family come to visit for dinner a couple times during our stay, and the ease of being able to have a gate code made it very easy for them to get in. Parking was well organized, and we were careful to not use spaces that weren’t designated to our unit. (You just avoid spaces painted with other unit numbers, which there are plenty of) Security was in a golf cart that we saw driving a couple times during the week we were there. We will definitely be back, but there were some issues that I hope the property addresses.
Onto some of the weird/bad aspects of our stay:
The reason I give this location a 3/5 instead of a 4/5, and the biggest issue we had with the property, occurred both before our stay and during: The number to call the front desk DOES NOT work. You just sit on an endless hold. This happened in the weeks leading up to our stay (we had questions about parking and rental cars) and while we were staying in the rental. We even used the phone in the rental thinking we’d have better luck, but same result… Endless hold with no answer. SO frustrating. We finally called the main Wyndham 1-800 line, and they tried several times to reach the front desk, with the same results. I really hope it was reported as an issue. The one time we stopped by the front desk in person, there was definitely someone working there who didn’t look particularly busy at the time. I don’t know where the disconnect is coming from.
We had a few weird electrical issues during the stay. Breakers kept popping at random instances causing power outages in entire rooms. (Included microwave being used randomly caused the power to be lost in the kitchen, included small hair dryer caused power to be lost in the upstairs bedrooms, etc) Thankfully we were able to access the breakers, and knew how to fix the issue ourselves, because the call to the front desk of course was no help at all.
Additionally, there was clear signs of broken/damaged parts that hadn’t been repaired in the unit from before our stay. (Another instance of us trying to call the front desk with no answer) Buttons on grill hood on the porch had been dislodged, electrical outlet in one of the upstairs bathrooms didn’t work, and grill knobs and patio table were both damaged. Thankfully we pivoted and used the oven instead of the grill for the dinners we cooked, but it was a bit annoying.
Decor on property is… interesting. They were going for a New York theme, we think, but some of it went in a very odd direction. (Rustic wood paneling mixed with bamboo ladders, skis mounted on the wall next to a broken decorative light meant to signal ships? Stacked baby statue near the corner of the parking lot painted to appear like they’re bleeding??) This became more of a running joke during our stay, but was definitely something that clashed with the beautiful modern decor near the lobby and in the general condo design.
Also, I need to mention the showers. The glass half barrier wall was a terrible choice. It was both annoying and useless as water splashed on the stucco wall constantly on the uncovered side of the shower, and the part that was covered made the shower knobs inaccessible without getting hit with water immediately. All of us staying in the unit discussed at several points that it would be the one thing that we’d change if we could.
