My husband recently spent 2 nights at the Hilton Milan. It was a wonderful experience, and we wouldn't hesitate to return. As others have mentioned, the hotel is a 5-minute walk from Milano Centrale, and a 10-minute subway ride from Il Duomo. There are several restaurants and stores nearby, including an Aldi supermarket right next door.

We were greeted with a warm welcome and the check-in process was smooth and quick. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite, which was a pleasant surprise. Although we're Hilton Honors Gold members, we were aware that the hotel was sold out, possibly due to Milan Fashion Week.

Our room was on the 4th floor around the corner from the elevators. It was quite large and had a sitting area in addition to the sleeping area. The bathroom was a decent size, and I was grateful to see instructions on how to operate the shower posted on the wall.

The only recommendations/suggestions for improvement I have are minor and didn't disrupt our stay, nor warrant being addressed by staff:

- Additional/better lighting needed in the sitting room area in the suite
- Install a larger TV - it was quite difficult to watch TV from the bed due its location (far wall) and the room size.
- Install USB ports on the business desk or near the bed.

Breakfast was buffet style and a delicious assortment of pastries and breads, cold cuts, cheeses, fruit, as well as hot items such as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages and beans. Wait staff were on hand to take orders for eggs and omelets, coffee and waffles. Service was smooth, efficient and friendly. There was also a machine that produced freshly squeezed OJ 0- it isn't often that you see that included in a buffet!

We didn't have dinner at the onsite restaurant but had cocktails at the bar in the evening. The drinks were tasty and priced appropriately.

I highly recommend asking the concierge for recommendations of places to eat. Both restaurants he recommended - Il Tavolino for pizza, and Barzac for an authentic Italian meal - were spot on. Be sure to check them out during your stay. They are less than a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the Hilton Milan and encourage you to consider staying there while in Milan.

Excellent location and hotel staff. The concierge desk was extremely helpful working remotely with us to ship a package out which had illegible return label on the day we checked out of the hotel. Would definitely return to this hotel next time we are in Milan.

Located less than a five minute walk from the Central Train Station, the Milan Hilton offers a great value at a reasonable price. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful....and Tony, the evening concierge, never steered us wrong with his restaurant recommendations. Breakfast in the executive lounge was good and stayed open all day and late into the evening for snacks and refreshments. Since Milan's many tourist venues are so spread out around the city, staying at this location did not present a problem. In fact, there are several charming restaurants within just a few blocks of the hotel. If you want to be close to the high end shopping areas then the Milan Hilton probably isn't for you. If you want the feel of a well run, comfortable, clean and inviting place to stay then this hotel nails it!

I took a chance on this hotel because I needed points for the end of the year with Hilton. It is very close to the central station which is a 10 euro cab ride to the center. THe Metro is easy but we were told it was not safe late at night.

The rooms were spacious and the bed comfortable, but the hotel was very tired in decor and in need of serious redecoration. It had a very dumpy feel to it. There was no view from our room and one of 2 windows had frosted glass because it faced directly into a wall. The bathroom was very tired with a chipped mirror and no water pressure in the shower. We complained and they said they fixed it but nothing was changed. The maid service was spotty with water bottles replenished some days but not others. Turn down serivce only if you were ready when they were.

The breakfast was good. THe front desk staff and concierge were great.

I should have stayed someplace more central and with a little charm. This hotel was sterile and not nice at all. Go elsewhere.

Dear segmd, Thank you for sharing your comments on TripAdvisor. I am delighted to read you appreciated the Front Desk and Concierge's hospitality and you enjoyed our famous Hilton Breakfast. On the other hand I regret the decoration of the hotel and the view from your room did not meet your expectations. We have an ongoing refurbishment plan and I hope we will have the chance to welcome you back to Hilton Milan upon your next visit to the city. With kind regards,

First the location is great since you can make a one block walk to the central station and get a train to Rome/Venice/Florence on the wonderful high speed trains. Or take the metro all over the city quickly. Hotel is friendly to US people and the rooms were decently sized for Milan in this price range.

But the hotel wasn't as good as the location. The tub drained really slowly- i left a note with a tip but the housekeeping didn't fix it. TV had three English stations- all news channels. Breakfast was a buffet cost 30 euro! Wi fi cost 20 euro for 24 hours but you could put three devices on for that cost. Asked the concierge for assistance with a train schedule and he was more interested in answering his cell and talking to co-workers then helping me.

I really liked the area but will look at the other hotels in the area before booking again.
